Derrick Webster and Juan Rodriguez see action on 8/31

Pocono, PA (August 9, 2012) Written by: Kurt Wolfheimer: KEA Boxing Promotions and Mount Airy Casino Resort are proud to present a star studded outdoors night of professional boxing under the stars on Friday featuring undefeated super middleweight Derrick “Take it to the bank” Webster (13-0, 7KO’s).

The unbeaten southpaw from Glassboro, New Jersey has mowed down everybody in his path, including his most recent unanimous decision victory of Sabou Ballogou in Atlantic, City, New Jersey on April 27th. Webster knows a victory is essential to keep his world title aspirations on track and is ready put all his chips on the line at the beautiful Mount Airy Casino and Resort on Friday night, August 31st. Andre Kut’s KEA Boxing Promotions team have gone to great lengths to put together an exciting boxing card that is sure to satisfy even the most ardent boxing fan.

It could be time to unleash the beast in the co-feature of the evening, as heralded welterweight and KEA Boxing prospect Juan “The Beast” Rodriguez (9-0,4KO’s) of Union City, New Jersey appears in what is sure to be a crowd pleasing six round contest. Rodriguez thrilled the crowd in Atlantic City with a devastating one punch second round knockout of Daniel Crabtree which had him out before he hit the canvas. Rodriguez has also been nominated for the 2011 Philly fight of the year for his exciting six round unanimous decision victory over Greg Hackett.

Also scheduled for the star studded card is undefeated lightweight prospect and Philly fan favorite Angel Ocasio (6-0-2,1KO) who will fight in a six round contest. Ocasio, who is managed by MAK Boxing Management, has quickly become one of the brightest prospects in the fighting city of Philadelphia. In his most recent bout which is sure to a 2012 Philly fight of the year candidate, Ocasio drew with Camden, New Jersey’s Jason Sosa, which had the crowd on their feet throughout in the back and forth contest. Ocasio knows his time is now and wants to show the fans at Mt. Airy Casino, the talents that have made him one of the most popular fighters in Philly.

Heavy handed junior middleweight Robert “RJ” Sockwell (3-2, 3KO’s) of East Stroudsberg, PA is scheduled to entertain the local brethren in a four round contest.

A special four round women’s four round contest will be held featuring the always exciting lightweight, Liz Sherman (3-2, 1KO) of Philadelphia, PA.

If heavyweights are your thing, then you won’t want to miss hard hitting Joe Cusumano of Virginia Beach VA in his scheduled four round scrap. Cusumano’s has explosive power in both hands as seen in his three victories, which his opponents have failed to survive the first round.

Highly touted Paterson, New Jersey native David “The Riot” Curiel (3-0, 1KO) looks to keep his undefeated record intact in a four round contest against an opponent soon to be announced in a four round contest.

Rounding out the card is a six round contest featuring another crowd pleaser in New York welterweight Tommy “The Razor Rainone (17-5, 4KO’s). Rainone is known for his give and take battle of wills style, which always makes for entertaining fights.
