The tenth anniversary of the Bob Rose Cup will be held this Friday night 7 June 2013 at the Malvern Town Hall, Melbourne, Victoria. Held by current WBC Asia Pacific promoter of the year Peter Maniatis, the night pays tribute to Australian football legend Bob Rose and has become a fixture on the Victorian sporting calendar over the past decade.

The eight bout card scheduled for the night is headlined by exciting Victorian prospect and last year’s Bob Rose Cup winner, Michael “Pretty Boy” Zerafa (10-0, 5 KOs), who faces the toughest test in his career to date in Filipino Rey Anton Olarte (17-22-8, 4 KOs) over 10 rounds at junior middleweight for the Bob Rose Cup.

Keen to rise to in prominence over the next 12 months, Zerafa will face his most experienced opponent to date in Olarte who has been in the ring with a host of leading Australian fighters over the years including former world champions Billy Dib and Gairy St Clair. His performance on Friday night should provide the 21 year old with a solid gauge as to where he sits in the landscape of Australian junior middleweights.

In the main support bout, Zerafa’s Glenroy Boxing Gym stablemate, Joel Camilleri (3-1, 2 KOs) will take on undefeated Oscar Ledlin (6-0, 1 KO) for the vacant Victoria State junior middleweight title.
Other fighters set to appear on the card include Jake Ellis, son of former world champion boxer Lester Ellis, in his second professional fight and promising junior welterweight Terry Tzouramanis (9-1-3, 2 KOs), fresh from his exciting rematch victory over fellow Victorian Andrew Wallace in April.

Tickets for the event are still available for the event at www.petermaniatis.com and www.boxingtickets.net.au, starting from $50, with a capacity crowd expected on the night.
