Lance Brooks Excited By Black Country Appearance

By Jon Sidaway, UKO Boxing

Wolverhampton light welterweight, Lance Brooks, is looking forward to fighting in the Black Country on Saturday evening.

The all action fighter can’t wait to get back in the ring after returning to boxing earlier this year following a three-year break.

Brooks turned professional back in 2010, marking his debut with a points victory over the durable Bheki Moyo. However, the traveller stepped away from the sport before making a welcome return back in May when he outpointed Tamworth’s Matt Seawright.

“It’s great to be back,” Brooks told www.uko-boxing.com. “Boxing is my passion and I want to challenge myself by beating what’s put in front of me.

“It’s going to be a great night, the atmosphere will be electric and that’s what drives me on to win. It’s great to be fighting in the Black Country too.

“We may be a travelling family but we all come back to a site in Coseley, at least the immediate family do. I have lived there myself on and off for about a decade now, so it’s nice to be in action just down the road.

“This is a good show to be part of.”
Brooks is joined on the One Promotions’ dinner show by former Midlands Area Welterweight Champion, Steven ‘Fierce’ Pearce who faces Brummie Andrew Patterson, Tipton featherweight Lee Glover who boxes Nuneaton’s Kristian Laight and unbeaten Dudley prospect Kyle Spencer, who faces the Isle of Wight’s Jay Morris.

Tickets are priced at £55 to include a three-course meal and VIP Ringside tables (of ten) are available at £100 per person to include a three-course meal and complimentary bottles of wine.

Tickets can be purchased by calling 07794 386 227.
