Tyson Fury joins British Eurosport’s studio for Klitschko/Leapai fight

Klitschko v Leapai LIVE, Saturday 26th April 21:30, British Eurosport 2

London 24th April – Undefeated former British, Irish and Commonwealth heavyweight champion Tyson Fury will join British Eurosport’s LIVE and Exclusive coverage of reigning WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO champion Wladimir Klitschko’s world heavyweight title defence against Australian Alex Leapai on the evening of Saturday 26th April.

Fury, who fights Dereck Chisora later this year for the right to be the number one contender for the WBO version of the World Heavyweight Championship, will be joined in the LIVE studio by former WBO middleweight and super-middleweight champion Steve Collins.

Charlie Webster will host the LIVE studio coverage from 9.30pm on British Eurosport 2, previewing the fight with Fury and Collins, as well as showing exclusive footage from the Klitschko training camp. Undercard fights from the bill will be shown after LIVE coverage of the main event.

Leapai will fight the 38 year old Ukrainian for the unified World Heavyweight title on the evening of Saturday 26th April in Oberhausen, Germany after the Australian beat Russian Denis Boystov in November to become the top WBO contender.

Alex ‘The Lionheart’ Leapai is based in Queensland and was once on the books of NRL team North Queensland Cowboys before turning to boxing, boasting 24 knockouts from his 30 professional fights. Klitschko is undefeated for over a decade since his loss to Lamon Brewster, with an 80% knockout rate from his 64 professional fights.

David Kerr, Managing Director of British Eurosport said, “‘It’s fantastic to be broadcasting this high profile World Heavyweight title clash in the classic Saturday night slot. Leapai shocked everyone in the boxing world to earn this tilt at the title and Klitschko has described him as a real life Rocky. They are two exciting fighters with a high number of knockouts between them and that should produce real fireworks.”

IMG Media, a division of IMG, the global, sports, fashion and media company, negotiated the deal on behalf of the Klitschko Management Group.
