Why the hell does Felix Sturm continue to get “Positive Press” from the Boxing writers, announcers ect? This guy has avoided any and every LEGITIMATE contender ever! This is what’s wrong with boxing! The way Sturm has avoided fighters is either a work of genius by his promoters or a work of the $. He has only fought a washed up undersized Delahoya. This guy has never fought Aor B level opposition. Top fighters are salivating to go over to get some of that German money, but this guy will not fight them.Posted September 1, 2012 1:55 pm
There’s a couple of points to be raised here. Firstly good on the WBA for making the dicision Let’s just hope they keep to it & the IBF agree. However What will happen after the “so called unification”? Will they make the winner the so called super champion & sanction another meaningless ordanary title fight or act sensibly & just sanction traditional eliminators in the future? What ever happens Martinez is the genuine #1 @ 160LB. I’m not too bothered regarding the out come of Golovkin/Proska match. However for the good of the sport I’m backing Geale against Sturm, who will undoubtedly continue to travel abroad & look for 100% unification, while Sturm would surely not venture outside of Germany. There’s talk of Geale defending against Anthony Mundane if successful against Sturm, which wouldn’t be too bad allthough Golovkin or Proska would be better. How about Mundane vs the UK’s Martin Murray in a final eliminator, to dicide who fights who after all this mess is sorted out?Posted September 1, 2012 8:03 am

Meh, didn’t the WBA say this already? I thought they already ordered the fight to take place a few months back, coz I remember being surprised when Sturm-Geale was announced.
