TARK

Larry Merchant sucks wind is why… Floyd made his decision because these idiots keep foggy old Merchant around—he knows diddly poop about Boxing—and because Floyd was offered a better deal.

Floy Jr. need much attention to be praise from head to toe but he’s not a perfect fighter at all means then he switch to sho-cbs and may be those people will kiss all the way his stinking ass.

Boxtra – and we all loved it when George and Merchant got into arguments. They used to crack me up. I swear Merchant was snookered half the time in the 90s and early 2000s.

Showtime has Brian Kenny who is BETTER than anyone that HBO has to offer. HBO needs to re hire Foreman. His 70 yr old eyes are BETTER than the whole HBO broadcast team.

I wonder how long it will be before Merchant and Forman are back at the side calling fights. Years ago someone on this site (I can’t remember who) said that Max Kellerman was the kiss of death for every boxing show he joins. Looks like they were right.

In my opinion both are to blame because of their sky high ego. Floyd Jr. want his own way of recognition without Oskie GBP and HBO and GBP as well want his own recognition without Floyd Jr. so they go their own ways. Simple as that. They are both ego maniacs.

stupid loser-YES it IS a GOOD link. It not only shows HBO’s blatant bias but it also shows that beating consecutive 10 P4P Fighters isn’t as EASY as Floyd makes it LOOK.

“That’s old news Braggadamus. Glad you finally caught up with the rest of us”- GOOD guess but NOPE. I’m glad that I was able to LAP you on the subject. I talked about it YEARS ago and now here I am highlighting it again before YOU ever DID. WOW. Thats why I’m the GREATEST.

Hidalgo, Floyd demolished a house of cards inside 18 months without throwing a punch.

“Floyd can be regarded as the modern day savior of boxing.” Huh? Regard him as such all you want. It’s not true however. He’s no more a savior of the sport than Bob Arum is.

I had a belly ache last night. Must be Floyd’s fault.

HBO had to do what they felt was necessary. Time will tell if this was a good decision or not. I’ll continue to watch both networks while as long as I’m able, but really HOB’s commentating can be overly annoyting at times. But Mallanaggi isn’t any better than Jones Jr. Too Bad, Steward, passed away, I’ll continue to miss his commentating, even if I didn’t always agree with him. In anycase, this is just another chapter in boxing.

Boxtradamus, good link. There are many, in fact most IMO, fights on HBO that could make the BIAS highlight reel. As far as who is to blame, Greed. The $$ is far more important to these promoters and networks then the fighters.

The people below blaming the commentators are donkeys. Jim Lampley has his own show on HBO where he’s addressed the HBO/GBP split and he’s also criticized both networks and promotors for their horrendous business deals. Both HBO and GoldenBoy lose out because now HBO’s roster is limited and GoldenBoy will now have a more difficult time trying to please their entire stable by putting on more shows on Showtime who, by the way, doesn’t have the budget to accomodate all the fights GBP could and wants to put out.

The Prince

The poor biased commentary sticks out the most. Just watch the Pacquiao/Bradley fight. Yeah, Pacquiao should have gotten the decision, but the fight was a lot closer than what the HBO commentators were making it sound like. They were only covering the stuff Manny did, and didn’t say nothing about how well Bradley was doing, especially in the later rounds which Bradley was winning. This is why the outrage of the decision for Bradley was a lot bigger than it should have been. And afterwards, people began to see this for themselves.

hbo has poor shows and is a lame network. The commentators are poor (lamply, keller and the old fart). Hell even the klitschkos left.Go ESPN and showtime.

Nope. POOR leadership is the reason for the split. HBO and Golden Boy are both to blame but its more on HBO since they’re the ones that made the decision.
