I thaught GGG and Sergio Martinez were both champions at middleweight so what’s the hold up or am I missing something?

@ Love-the -sport, Ouma didn’t go the distance with Golovkin, he was stopped in brutal fashion and ended in hospital. Ouma was very durable and never been stopped against elite fighter.

I like Macklin and have respect for his courage, fighting Golovkin would not be fair for this boy. Just too dangerous, let Macklin grow through some fights… although, I believe that top-fighters should not fight the lower opposition, if there is a choice of a fair match-up.

Chavez-Golovkin would be very hard fought and dangerous for both!

Really. Everybody is scared of Golovkin. After Golovkin knocked out two junior middleweights (Rosado, Ishida) and he had to go the distance with another junior middleweight (Ouma). Everyone should be afraid? Really.

I like Macklin, and rate him, but he could be made for Golovkin stylewise.

GGG has to fight Maklin coz hes the only top 10 middleweight with the balls to get in the ring with him

Peter Quillin fight would be great, but brother Pete shall not agree. Geale would fight Golovkin only as eliminator to Martines fight, otherwise he shall not want the risk at no reward… Hope, we shall see some good contender to stand out next! Hey, boys, where are you???

Macklin would not be a good fight to do. There’s nothing special now about Matthew M. except being a legitimated middleweight. By the way, Austin Trout would agree on GGG fight in light-middl. That would be very interesting! I have a feeling that Trout shall box S.A.’s ears out… )

This is a step in the right direction for GGG….I was growing tired of seeing him beat up on Jr. Middles.

Should be a good fight while it lasts, maklin comes in on rails it will just be a case of how soon GGG KOs him, then Martinez after that for GGG and Murray for maklin would be good.

mr gav

It will be a decent fight till GGG gets the KO

Woop Woop

Another smoke and mirrors fight. Macklin has lost twice at domestic level and is rusty as hell, fighting once in 12 months coming back from surgery. Macklin has a high profile for getting smashed by Martinez and not for his accomplishments. GGG is still running from the champs out there that earned their belts by beating other champs. GGG needs his title given to him. What a fraud!!!

macklin was very competitive in the martinez fight, if golovkin can put him away quickly, martinez shouldn’t hesitate to give him a shot. otherwise he will be percieved to be afraid of GGG ???

Slim Whitman

He’ll put a Spacklin on him

GGG’s next opponent should be Daniel Gaele

Yes Macklin is a solid fighter, who I belive would fight anyone. But he needs a tune-up being out with surgery and not fighting enough and hes a guy whos use to being pretty active. He should fight Lee or someone like that get the rust off then fight GGG.
