Trout will get on his bicycle once he feels Alvarez’ power…..Canelo ALL DAY

I like lederman just fine. You can expect perfection from people. He had the best card last week on the rios vs alvarado bout. He was the most accurate. People who expect perfection have unreasonable expectations. And often see people as not living up to their expectations.

Vasilay jirov was beast. An original and one of the first eastern euro fighters mixing it up. Was schooling morrer befroe the premature stoppage and had an EPIC battle with baby joe macey

Lederman is a stud.

I don’t get why everyone is hyped about trout! Who has he beat? Everyone says Canelo never fought anyone like trout well trout never fought someone like Canelo and people Cotto is washed up and a over blown ww!

Posted April 7, 2013 8:41 am

JE

Trout also wasn’t supposed to be much opposition to Cotto. Canelo hasn’t fought anyone like Trout. All of Canelo’s shortcomings will come to light. Look for Trout to win a late-round stoppage.

Trout wins by wide UD. Will be way to ring savvy for canelo and possibly be the bigger man on fight night.

Hidalgo .. I didn’t see the fight live but just watched it on demand in hbo
And I have to say Alvarado deserves the win as even stats shows he thrower and landed a litle bit more ..I scored it 115-113 and I gave the 11 to rios and it could have gone either way

Posted April 7, 2013 2:05 am

Alvarez will stop trout you heard it here !

Posted April 7, 2013 1:58 am

@Luke and all those who are saying trout will be too much for Alvarez ,
I am glad to hear you say that but can you please admit that you were wrong if Alvarez will be too much for trout after the fight? I just don’t want too hear escuses if trout losses by you guys like” Alvarez was juiced or trout came in unprepared ..etc ..”

Posted April 7, 2013 1:57 am

Trout is undefeated , and Canelo is also. Trout i think knows how to adapt better than the supect chin Canelo. I pick Trout out schooling him

Posted April 6, 2013 11:51 pm

I meant to say that in my mind and according to what I saw and what I scored, Rios beat Alvarado in their second fight.

Posted April 6, 2013 10:47 pm

Hidalgo

“and then check out Lederman’s who scored it a draw.” Lederman’s track record speaks for itself: If there’s a boxer he favors, he scores accordingly. If he doesn’t favor one, he usually scores fairly accurately–or at least honestly. But there’s been a number of fights I’ve watched and scored and wondered what the hell Lederman was thinking. For instance: Rios just beat Alvarado. Again. By decision. But Lederman had Alvarardo winning rounds that Rios clearly won. Oh well. Lederman gets paid for what he does. I don’t.

Luke…. Trout has 2 stoppages in his last 9 fights… He’s very likely not going to stop Canelo. He’s not a big hitter and doesn’t even try to knock people out. His focus is on not getting hit and landing more punches in every round. That’s why he’s hard to beat. Against Cotto, Floyd had Q-Tips up the nose to stem the bleeding. Floyd promised everyone a KO … Trout was virtually unmarked vs Cotto. He just promised to be victorious … I don’t see Trout getting stopped so Canelo better be prepared to score more and harder punches. He better work his young ass off.

How desirable will Canelo be after a TKO loss to trout??? HBo will rely on arum, but lets face it, showtime doesn’t have enuff TV dates to satisfy all of Hymen and Goldenshower’s up and comers. At some point they’ll start throwing HBO a few bones.

Posted April 6, 2013 7:55 pm

OCTAVIUS72

I didn’t say he would SUCCEED; I said he would try!!!! They need a star over there. Showtime is beating them out!!!! Canelo is young. They need someone for the long haul. Who do they have now that fit that bill really????

Luke

Octiv…really, how could Harold’s comments ever sway a guy to switch promoters??????

Posted April 6, 2013 7:40 pm

OCTAVIUS72

Of course Lederman is going to say something like this!! He is going to try and fight the good fight to try and win fighters over for HBO because that’s what all of those clowns over at HBO do!!! Too bad Canelo is with GBP who are now with Showtime!!!!

Posted April 6, 2013 7:20 pm

REM…Goldenshower is “allowing him to fight trout”. Ur language clearly acknowledges Canelo is/has been a protected commodity!!! Wake up people….smell the cool aide u need drinking!!!!!!!

@Adrian… Check out the punch stats for Toney-Jirov… Toney out-landed Jirov by 150 punches, demonstrating a vastly superior offense and defense.. Then he cemeted the win by hammering the badly beaten and exhausted Jirov to the canvas in the 12th round … VJ barely survived a contest that saw him completely out-generaled, out-defended, and ineffective… Check out the judges’ score cards, they all had it by a wide margin — and then check out Lederman’s who scored it a draw.

Posted April 6, 2013 5:36 pm

Yeah i c Canelo clearly winning this fight Trout wasnt at all impressive against Cotto and i had Cotto up 6-1 after 7. I didnt at all c this great defense Trouts suppose to have and Canelos heavy shots will be to much. I think gb saw the same rhing and this is y they r allowing Canelo to fight him.

Posted April 6, 2013 5:33 pm

I see Canelo winning but it will be a spirited battle. Not one way pitching. Trout is too good a counter puncher for that.

“Instead of seeing a kid with bundles of rounds under his belt, they knock him and question his age and resume, but you can’t buy that experience . . . 265 rounds to Trouts 150″ describes Canelo best. he looks and fights like a veteran. he’s not unbeatable (yet) but he won’t lose to Trout. on the contrary. i think Canelo will be looking to make a statement v. Trout. it’ll be the Pummeling that Kirkland and Cotto avoided. the ring-beating that Canelo has been poised to deliver for at least a year. Trout’s courage is commendable but poor Trout.

Has anyone seen the 30DAYS IN MAY DOCUMENTRY ON SHOWTIME!!

FLOYD clearly stated(AFTER THE COTTO FIGHT) that Cotto was so tough that Floyd was considering retirment after that fight!!!

Cotto than, got dominated by Trout in his next fight. (Trouts win over Cotto was far more impressive than Floyds win against Cotto) and now all of a sudden SOME FOOLS ARE SAYING COTTO IS DONE AND PAST HIS PRIME!!!

Did he look DONE AND PAST HIS PRIME AGAINST FLOYD?

Ive posted this question before and have not received a reply, so here it comes again!

How is Canelo(WHO COULD NOT KO A C-CLASS WELTERWEIGHT LIKE MATT HATTON) going to KO the biggest, fastest and most skilled fighter he has ever fought?

“You can’t say how good Canelo is because Golden Boy hasn’t been matching him against quality fighters from his own division”….. I couldn’t have put it better myself really.

Posted April 6, 2013 6:09 am

Adrian

Btw Canelo Won’t need a “lucky punch ” against trout to win the fight
Because he will break him apart and will stop him in the middle rounds
..cotto hurt trout with body shots very bad even though it wasn’t obvious
But he did and that’s why in the later rounds trout was in a bent position and wasn’t throwing much like early on but too bad cotto is known for fading with is power late in the fight wich Canelo isn’t and will brake him down with body shots! You heard it here
Canelo will stop trot and I will predict a lot of people here will say “trout was nothing special he just got lucky against a washed up cotto” as usual !

Fark with all due respect toney vs jirov wasn’t one sided fight even close it was
A great fight with a good ending by toney in the end because of jirovs mistake in standing right there inside and trade with toney who is more experienced and punched harder but by no means was one sided Afair not even close!

Posted April 6, 2013 4:12 am

TARK

Lederman is a dirt dumb, fumble tongued jerk, with a boxing IQ of 15… He has no knowledge at all. He misses things in slow motion replay that almost everyone else caught clearly in real time.. He predicted Vasily Jirov was going to obliterate James Toney and scored that very one sided beating a draw.. He had Hatton beating Floyd after 6 rounds in which Ricky was outpunched more than 2 to 1.. Floyd out-landed Hatton 21 to 5 in the 1st round and Lederman gave that round to Hatton.. If Lederman likes a fighter he’s going to have him winning unless he’s taking a one-sided beating that would be obvious to a 5-year-old.

BTW, I’m picking Alvarez to win a close, tough fight. He’s plenty quick and explosive, especially with his hands. But he won’t win by obliteration unless he gets a lucky shot in. Canelo is a great puncher so that could happen. Trout is slick, strong, clever, and skilled. Trout beat Cotto about as bad as Floyd did — but without getting blood saturated, King Sized Q-Tips shoved up his nose between round to stem the bleeding. Trout was very clean after that fight and will be well prepared for this one which means so much more to him. Obviously the most important fight of Trout’s life to this point. Unfortunately for Trout, the Boxing Establishment doesn’t want him to win. They want Floyd-Canelo.

Canelo fights well and looks good while doing so however my issue with him has been the level of competition. I know his fights with Kirkland and PWilliams went south but his resume gives him a false sense of achievement base on not only was he handed his title by Sulaiman along with JCC jnr but his been feasting on not so good WWs & Jnr WWs Ndou, Cotto, Hutton, Cintron, Lopez and an old ” juiceless” Mosley who looked more his age than a test ( mind you Cotto and Hutton are the brothers not the ex champions.)So I’m still not sold yet but I see the by product. Trout will be his first fight against a legitimate 154lbs which again seems kinda weird all this hype from fighting WWs while his been a jnr middleweight for a long time. I haven’t seen much of Trout but besides outpointing a 34yr old Cotto what has he done. There’s a lot of smoke and screens being played here by GBP but I do know one thing Trout will not get a decision if it goes to the scorecards, just my observation.

“Both of them are massively over rated” I don’t know that they are over-rated. We just don’t really know how good either one of them are because they haven’t been fighting current top contenders or champions. Personally, I think they are very evenly matched, but I also think that Canelo has the goods to edge out an SD win over Trout. This fight will determine who deserves to take the next step up the jr. middleweight ladder and I think it’s going to be Canelo. This fight will go a full 12 rounds and will be so close the judges will be splitting hairs at the end. Canelo by SD.

I would like to see Alvarez win, as he has a good fan base, which would be good for boxing, but it certainly won’t be a walkover, as Trout is going to hang tough.

Luke , Your are so right!
It funny to watch morons years after years repeat the same mistakes.
Morons believe that because they write nice things or predict victories of their beloved fighters, that is going to affect the “real-world” fight!
You may say all you want about your fighter, on fight day, that’s not going to change a single iota to the outcome.
In other words, you keep wasting your time here spewing wishful thinkings and taking them for unavoidable facts….
That’s how morons behave…

This is a 50/50 fight. If Canelo obliterates Trout he will open my eyes big time with his skills. I haven’t really seen him obliterate anybody his size yet so I’m not sure if he can do that to Trout

Lederman and many others want Canelo to win, because they believe Floyd will have no choice but to fight him next. They’ll pretty much build up Canelo like they did Pacquiao against Mayweather. However, that’s assuming Mayweather gets past Guerrero first.

Posted April 5, 2013 8:52 pm

HHLondon

“he fights like a veteran that’s 35.”

First sensible words I ever heard out of Ledermans mouth!

This is what Alverez’s knockers fail to see.

Instead of seeing a kid with bundles of rounds under his belt, they knock him and question his age and resume, but you can’t buy that experience.

265 rounds to Trouts 150.

Posted April 5, 2013 8:33 pm

Ghost

If Canelo wasn’t still a kid at 22 I might agree, but since he is only 22 I think this fight will be very close, with both guys having their moments. I’m leaning toward Canelo at this point but not by much. I still think Canelo is being rushed, there are not to many guys who can fight at the top level at 22. Oscar De La Hoya did it, an did it good, but most who try to rush to the top to soon get knocked down look at what happened to Fernando Vargas to much to soon. I mean come on Rigo was still fighting 17 18 years old kids when he was 22 an late into his 20’s lol.

lederman is losing it. trout should win this one, but it will be tough to get a decision at the alamodome. lederman is on arum’s payroll as far as i’m concerned.

srminimo

The main problem with Canelo has nothing to do with him: he has been brought up VERY slowly even after he became champion. But you’d have to be blind not to see the kid is talented, poised and ambitious. Trout’s size surprised me against Cotto, but these are different animals we’re talking about. Canelo might not KO Trout, because as soon as he hits him Trout is going to hop on his bike.

Jeff Sorby just put his credibility on the line predicting Trout to outbox Canelo. Lederman did too. I’m with Lederman on this one.

I pick Canelo to win by UD, but let me make this clear.

Lederman is an idiot who knows very little about boxing.

Posted April 5, 2013 5:36 pm

te tumbo

Btw, the fact that Lederman “hates” to predict a win for Canelo exposes his notorious bias on behalf of American fighters, which is the primary reason the entire crew of HBO commentators has little to no credibility with true fight-fans.

Posted April 5, 2013 4:47 pm

te tumbo

“I hate to say this” but Wtf does Lederman know? but at least he has watched Canelo fight, which is more than i can say for Jeff Sorby, e.g., Canelo DID blow-out Baldomir, Gomez, and thoroughly dominated the rest. Canelo might not be the most fierce or ferocious but he is as steady as a torpedo and once he’s locked-in on an opponent he proceeds with all deliberate speed. it’s a degree of poise and maturity taht even some great fighters never achieve. nonetheless, a Lederman jinx is a real concern. hopefully Public Enema will predict a win for Trout. only he possesses an equal level of imbecility to counter that of Lederman’s . . . OY-ye mi canto P-E. Oye mi canto.

I pick Canelo to give Trout a beating especially the body

Posted April 5, 2013 3:57 pm

Hecdog

Lederman is an idiot! Canelo will defeat Trout by late round stoppage. He may not have the experience Trout has, but his confidence is sky high. He has good speed, body punching and more importantly, power. He will be in Trouts face all night long because Trout has no power, which is going to be his downfall. Canelo will have no respect and take some punches in the first 5 rounds, but after that he’s going to dominate and stop Trout. trout himself hasn’t fought anyone with Canelo’s style and power. Cotto is definitely experienced, but he moved up from 135. Canelo is big and strong, and Trout can only move so long. You better have great speed and boxing skills or have a KO punch in boxing. Trout has neither.
