At squared circle. No there was no comparison with SRR only a statement in reply to yours. “13 losses and 2 draws is not the record of a great fighter — by any stretch of the imagination. Regardless of gender or weight class.” all the greatest lost.
Agreed that you will never see 200 fights in a career and I also agree that SRR does not rate as the best P4P fighter for me either ( Henry Armstrong for me )
But I think that many are too critical of losses when it comes to someones legacy as a fighter.
All are considered great fightersPosted April 17, 2013 12:31 am

Nathan: Clearly I was talking about modern era pro-boxing, not 50-100 years ago. Nobody gets 200 pro fights anymore. Nobody. Are you really implying that the accomplishments of St. John (with her 47-13-2 record) are comparable to those of SRR? Or that she should even be mentioned in the same breath with SRR? But since you mentioned SRR, I’m not someone who agrees that he’s the GOAT or the the best P4P of all time.Posted April 15, 2013 3:10 am
@ Squared Circle : SRR lost 19 and drew 6 fights and is widely considered the best P4P of all time.Posted April 15, 2013 12:40 am
Secilia Brækhus: Worlds Best boxer
Tor The Viking
Haha….. Holly (chicken) Holm is like Bin Laden, go hide in your cave with you friends (cheating team). Professional boxing is not allowed in Norway, so Secilia is always boxing in a foring country, not like Holm, always at home.Posted April 14, 2013 6:42 pm
St john was never all that good but nice to look atPosted April 14, 2013 6:34 pm
This fight was a big mistake for Braekhus.
First, 144.1 – no way – let’s try 150+.
Second, Braekhus wants to fight Holly Holm. Holm decisioned St John in Holm’s home venue. Braekhus stops St. John and this will scare Holm even more to fight Braekhus.
Braekhus should have held back and won a decision instead. Braekhus will never get a chance to fight Holm now. Big career mistake!Posted April 14, 2013 5:38 pm

Terrible, terrible fight. Bad, very bad matchmaking. I am not exactly a fan of female pro boxing but accept and respect these ladies. Promoters have to be special careful here though…anyway St. John deserved a more dignified end of her excellent career!Posted April 14, 2013 12:03 am

Who cares? Mia is old, not hot and not a good fighter. Better than she was but thats it. Don’t report on these stories. It only attracts pervs that have never been laid making vulgar comments about an average looking middle aged woman. Get laid, losers.Posted April 13, 2013 9:29 pm

Mia has not fought a hack in a long time. She beat one of boxings all time greats, Christy Martin. She has honed her craft over the past 16 years and should be given more credit than many give. Mia is far from amateur. It’s the armchair amateur boxers that have never seen the inside of a boxing ring, that berate, belittle and tear down talented boxers who literally bleed for their enjoyment. Most of the audience watching will never know what cardio, training, stamina, courage and confidence it takes to last even three minutes in the ring. Instead of berating a talented boxer that has trailblazed for fighters like Berkhaus, we should applaud her professionalism, talent and heart. She is one of the premiere female fighters in boxing and has been for almost two decades. Her only mistake? She’s still in the ring at 45 years old. Almost EVERY boxer has made this mistake, fighting past their prime. I salute and applaud this courageous lady, who has continues to put her life on the line for our enjoyment for many years. Here’s to a wonderful career Miss Mia! And here’s to an even better retirement! You are loved!Posted April 13, 2013 7:33 pm
Mia has beaten Holly……Posted April 13, 2013 7:18 pm
You can’t win them all Mia, sorry it ended the way it did. You know best but may be time to consider retirement. Best of luck in the future.Posted April 13, 2013 7:03 pm
thought it was a little early stoppage but the outcome woulda’ been the same. I was hopin’ to see a 45 year old go the distance a la’ B hopPosted April 13, 2013 6:22 pm
