I’m struggling picking a winner for this one. I’m leaning toward Trout, but Canelo can do some serious damage with one punch, but I’ve not seen him in with a guy who can box like Trout. Usually I take a boxer over a puncher, but there is more to Canelo than just a brainless stalker – puncher. I need to ponder this some more. Either way, it’s going to be a great fight. It will have some slow rounds, but there will be some big moments too.

What I like about this particular “big” fight is both athletes are respectful, and not degrading each other to sell the fight… They’re not letting promoters and publicists goad them into trash talking… They refuse to be someone they’re not — and they’re still pulling 40,000 fans into the Alamodome.

Proof positive that nice guys don’t finish last.

how can anyone dislike Trout? he’s a standup buy and he speaks truth, no boasting or bragging, nothing but confidence. I like that. I’m pumped, should be a great fight.

Hidalgo – Meaning, if it goes to the judges, there’s nothing he can do…either God will have them vote for him or against him. That wasn’t confusing at all.

Trout has the lefty stand and one hell of jab. He should be able to finish big.

Trout has been in with all styles there’s no surprises here, trout will do the surprising i think on the inside he’s extremely underrated and needs to be taken seriously ,i see him out hustling Canelo just to see Canelos hand raised….eazy!

“If it goes to the judges, it’s in God’s hands. If they want to jerk me, then it’s between them.” Huh? It’s in God’s hands if it goes to the judges but if they screw him it’s not in God’s hands? Huh? Trout will fight from the outside as much as possible looking for potshots and a safe points win. He will hold as much as he can to negate Alvarez’s power and body attack. Trout will NOT outbox Canelo. He may out-think him and he’ll definitely use the ring as best as he can–my guess it’s a big ring–so he can keep his distance from Alvarez. Saul will constantly apply pressure but Trout is in for a surprise: Alvarez is not just a power puncher, the kid can box, he’s cool under fire, and he’s also a thinking warrior. Plus he’s got a good chin. Canelo by legit SD.
