Gonzo the Dragonborn – Gonzo, Einstein, Da Vinci, Tesla, Newton, Aristotle, Shakespeare

Thanks pie chucker.. I fully agree with you about my put downs being the stuff of legend. However, there’s absolutely zero ambiguity as to whether I’m the best poster on this site or not. I’m afraid I’m not only the best poster on here but I’m the best poster by a country mile too and that’s all there is to it. Even my greatest detractors on here will tell you the same.

Let’s get something straight… Cunningham is a 6’3″ X 210 Heavyweight… He’s no cruiserweight anymore — anymore than Floyd Mayweather is still a super featherweight… If this becomes a boxing contest Steve could win it. Fury is a kid with 20 fights, who could lose it if he gets out-boxed for a few rounds because of all the trash talking he’s done.

This is Cunningham’s strategy — Get Fury flustered.. get him angry.. get him stupid.. and make him fight at an increasingly killing pace.. I give him about a 40% chance of pulling it off because he’s not an infighter or all-around skills guy like Haye — but I think it’s a really interesting fight.

Well this ain’t 1986-1994 so I don’t expect a Spinks/Cooney or a Holyfield/Bowe. To quote the great Al Bernstein “A good big man will beat a good little man”

Rod summed up the situation very well.

Fury KO loss by his own uppercut…

Furys gotta be holding in that gut on the top row in the middle picture! Nevertheless, I’ll take Fury, due to the fact he’s developed an aggressive combination throwing style that should render Cunningham gunshy. Plus he’s a naturally bigger guy that doesnt seem at all clumsy…..except when he punched himself in the face with an uppercut he threw(funny). Fury by KO! Cunningham seems a bit too uncoordinated and is too light for the boisterous over-confident Fury.

Cunningham has a GOOD chance here because he’s been competitive with Adamek who is BETTER than Fury. Can’t wait to see it!

Fury looks in Shape. He is not carrying much fat. He is not going to ever be as lean and ripped as cunningham who is a naturally extremely lean guy. 255 for fury with no man boobs or belly is good

Fury has looked in better shape.Could this hurt Fury??maybe but I dont think so.But he better stay in tip-top shape if he wants to be champ and stay champ…wake-up kid.

Total mismatch! Fury needs to fight guess his own size! He will not accomplish anything by fighting a cruiserwight! He should be fighting guys like wilder, price, thompson and klits! Then we will see how good he really is. He should blow this lil dude out the water! BUt if he doesn’t what does that say about him? OVERRATED?

“i didn’t come to the U.S. for pitty-pat boxing. i came to do Demolition Jobs on cruiserweights” (lol). Love it. on this alone i’m favoring “Fury”. combined with the fact that Cunningham only came in at 210lbs, which does not indicate true commitment to becoming a legit heavy. “Here we go!-Here we go!-Here we Go!”

Hidalgo- It’s actually a giant versus a cruiserweight.

LOOK AT CUNNINGHAM!!! HE IS IN FANTASTIC ATHLETIC SHAPE. COME ON STEVE!!! KNOCK THIS SOFT BOY THE FK OUT. YOU ARE IN GREAT SHAPE, FURY IS A TOAST.

Textbook Hayelord

Even if Fury wins (which he probably will) he is gonna underwhelm a lot of people after all the trash talking he has done.

Both Fury cousins could do with someone in thier camps helping them stay in shape better because neither of them are exactly ripped, different fighters have different body types but i just believe that Tyson and Hughie look a little out of shape compared to the Klitschkos (same goes for Helenius).

GONZO – you may or may not be the best poster on this site, but I gotta admit, your putdowns are quite legendary, the way you slay the proud African always has me in stitches

I took a look at the weigh-in… Fury looks very soft.. Doesn’t look strong, or as good as he did for Kevin Johnson.. Cunningham at 210 looks almost as strong as David Haye at the same weight… Fury has called Johnson America’s best heavyweight, but there are 10 better than him … Fury seems to be taking Cunningham lightly, like he’s a punk, but Steve’s a real good fighter. Maybe he’ll fight better than he looks, because Fury doesn’t look ready.

I remember Mike Tyson looking at Michael Spinks at their weigh-in, and saying in a soft voice, “Spinks looks soft.. He’s a really good fighter but he doesn’t look ready. What’s up with him? This is the biggest fight ever and he’s shining it.”

I remember the Foreman-Frazier weigh-in and George said, “There were fat guys smoking cigars in that room who were in better shape than Frazier. I’m going to hurt that man. It’s a joke.”

Most often when a guy looks bad, he fights bad.

I agree with Tark and Lenin. Fury most likely by UD. Good to see him with bigger guys like Ustinov, Wach, Dimitrenko or even a high risk fight with refined price or wilder before stepping in with Wlad

Posted April 20, 2013 4:10 am

Lenin

Fury by UD. It’s hard to nail down a small, moving, and experienced target. Good fight for Fury, makes him move and think. Fury vs. Vlad could happen by the end of 2014, just 4 or 5 more fights vs. good (and, to get ready for Vlad) bigger opponents should give him a chance to survive vs. Vlad.

Fury, probably by decision… He never hurt Kevin Johnson. He’s a good puncher, not a great one — and Cunningham is a good defender who doesn’t take a lot of chances.

Sorry guys Fury will take this. Two years ago he would have been outboxed but he has really improved. Fury is not Valuev. He is fast for 6’9 and can counter, fight on the outside and inside. All respect to Steve, he beat Ademek who beat everyone but Vitali. Size will be too much

Cunningham W.UD.12. Make some easy money on it.

Andre Ward is the SOG, so while he is over in the UK, he can visit all the old Cathedrals, thousand years old, take it all in, and pray not to get beat by Froch, , he may not get crucified.

Bute thought, I am getting stick for fighting in Canada, Montreal all the time, went over to fight Froch, didn’t have to, Ward needs to do that.

The funny thing is that even with the dramatic size difference, not everyone is counting Cunningham out. If Cunningham can avoid getting nailed with a lot of big shots then he might have a shot at scoring the upset. But he can’t afford to get nailed a lot by a fighter who is 44lbs heavier.

I see nothing wrong with the weight difference. This is what you get when your a heavy. I’ve seen smaller heavies beat bigger heavies. Also Cunningham chose to be a heavy when he was able to make cruiser. So it was his decision.

Fury is an a-hole. I don’t understand why he’s fightng Cunningham when he has such a size advantage. There’s plenty of full-sized heavyweights for him to fight. Why Cunningham?

“Weights: Fury 254, Cunningham 210″ This is what’s wrong with the heavyweight division. 44 lb. weight difference. A giant versus a heavyweight.
