Not a retort , simply an observation……schoolkids learn very quickly that if Nationality has sod all to do with anything. Leapai lost to Johnson and this is the basis of your dismissal of Aussie heavyweights : “Aussie Heavies haven’t got a rep as being top boys at the moment.” While you may have a case, Aussie heavies being not that flash, in general terms at the moment, the dismissal of them all based on one result….yeah, that’s logical. Your reasoning makes NO SENSE, that was my point. Thus unless I can draw a wobbly stick figure for you, I guess its too much to expect understanding. I’m pleased “Being an internet hard man isn’t your game.” Isn’t mine either. But I do hope you can clear up the confused thinking/logic processes of yours cos I’m sure it will make you life much less challenging.

Great to see another modern ‘athletic’ HW contender ready to make an ‘impact’ on the scene.

Gumboot, point I was making was that the Aussie Heavies haven’t got a rep as being top boys at the moment. Sorry, I will make sure that I am clear as crystal in future as connecting the dots seems to be a problem for you. The point was Browne v Toney is another promising Australian up and comer against a Veteran American fighter that has seen better days. It is called a comparison. Play with the traffic? Don’t need to retort; being an Internet hard man isn’t my game.

You guys are missing the point. Toney is the only one who has the sack to get in the ring with Browne. Browne needs to stay busy and if that means taking out old named fighters then he must do it. He could fight a nobody and then you would say “stop fighting bums”. Until Browne makes a little less noise, no one wants to risk fighting him. Unfortunately a KO demolishing of Toney won’t win him any better fights.

What the heck, maybe Lucas can fight Larry Holmes next.

I really was a big Toney fan, I wish him the best now, but I won’t be watching him fight any longer.

i cringe in sincere dissapointment every time i read Toney is insisting on continuing to step into a ring. one of the most naturally gifted born fighters that Boxing has ever seen. even after he lost to Jones Jr. i couldn’t help but considere him unbeatable. that loss and subsequent meltdown was the beginning of the end of the prime James Toney. nonetheless, in terms of fighting abilty, Toney’s stature was so prominent that even today i can’t help but believe he can still win something. simply not as the chubbyweight he insisted on becoming . . . a real tragedy for the sport.

Alex Leapai got beat bad by Johnson, old Kevin Johnson. Even Fury minced him up so the Aussie Heavies haven’t got a good rep at the minute. I think Toney, even this bloated, barely trained version of the shell that was once a great champion, will win. A defeat won’t prove how good this Browne guy is, only how far Toney has fallen.

A win does nothing for this guy. A loss and it shows he will be nothing in the sport

Yes Mago and Browne should fight now.Thats the problem today fighters 28 to 32yrs old fighting nobodies or guys wwwaaayyy past it.Atleast then we could see who might have alittle something and the guys who have nothing really would be gone.Browne and Mago both I dont belive will do anying both are way to raw lacking any skills. But would give us a fun fight to watch, and the winner could fight at the next level.

No one wants to fight Lucas now. They definitely wont when he destroys Toney by KO. What is he to do? If Toney is the only guy who will fight him, at least it gets a name on his record. Yes, we all know that Toney is washed up and unfit. Until the other contender/prospects grow a set, Browne will have to keep demolishing stay busy opposition. I wish he would clean out Australia vs Leapai or Haumono or even Meehan. Then he could spark out some Brits vs Chisora or Price or Fury. Become the best in the Commonwealth and then move through the Euro guys. Plenty of experience and good fights to see if he can make it to the top from all those options. I guess starting at the lowest vs American heavyweights is one way.

Put the cigar smoking, slurring, buffet diving slab of blubbery slop out of his misery.

Honestly, a win over Toney at this point should lead to an arrest for assaulting a senior citizen.

Browne has fought bums but if he gets past Toney he will be after bigger names. Like to see him against Mago or Wilder

Really…get your name out. Yes then you could fight Mike Tyson and really get your name out…lol.

Beating a 44 year old James Toney is certainly not a platform for a world title shot. Toney hasn’t been anything really since 2003. A win over Toney now means next to nothing as he is just a shell, albeit a very large shell, of his former self. In his day, in the early and mid 90’s Toney was the man.
