And who has Wilder proved he is a great boxer against???

Posted April 30, 2013 4:28 pm

Mike

If you think Wilder is just a puncher , you are dead wrong. He is a great boxer too, but knows he is clearly superior to all the other pretenders. He will KO Tyson Fury in a couple of one sided rounds. Fury is all talk, and refuses to get in the ring with the Bronze bomber.

Posted April 30, 2013 3:14 pm

rod

Price should get through Thompson in July. Mago, Browne, Wilder and Price assuming he gets through Thompson are the new force tomorrow. Fury Povetkin Haye and Fury are the prospects today. There are also 10 or so fighters out there who are very promising but just have not come through and faced each other or talented veterans. The division is coming alive

Wilder looks pretty crude, he just wings in power shots, doesnt seem to be any defence there, footwork, jab, mobility, full arsenal of punches etc etc dont seem to be there. Unless he has more than he’s shown he’ll get exposed soon as he steps up to even B Class. Haye, Fury, Thompson, Helenius, Chisora, Pulev, Jennings, Solis, Stiverne, Povetkin and Price would expose him imo. As for Wlad and Vitali, forget it!

Posted April 30, 2013 3:55 am

AssyrianGod2

Wilder has not proved anything at all yet. In 28 fights his best win to date has been over a shot 41 year old Harrison. Beating Harrison and beating top 20 fighters are two VERY different things;- Price blew Harrison away even more impressively, knocking him cold, thn got caught out by Thompson who was a fair few rungs above Harrison, Haye toyed with Harrison before KO’ing him easily, then got outboxed by Wlad, Rogan outfought Harrison then got beat twice by Sexton who is a better fighter than Audley…Wilder at this stage is likely to be similarly exposed by Wlad, Fury, Thompson or maybe even Sam Sexton.

“Anyone who truly believes this was a premature stoppage or that Harrison was winning, is clearly a fanboy of Harrison’s and is incapable of subjective thinking where Harrison is concerned.” – I said Fantana knows it’s a wind up and so do we. Of course not all of us do. It’s baffling to me that anyone would think this is anything but tongue in cheek. But that’s part of the comedy.

Posted April 29, 2013 9:24 pm

Overated

Hank of course it was tongue in cheek, how could you write a serious article about a fight that audley was involved in that lasted less than 50 seconds. If you dont find it even a bit funny then your probably dead inside.

Daniel if people dont read beyond the headline then thats their fault but you would have to be a bit slow not to understand that the headline is a joke.

A serious article would go a bit like this, they touched gloves, bell rang, harrison threw a jab or 2 then got knocked out, the end. So you can see why fantana went ths direction.

Posted April 29, 2013 8:28 pm

Daniel

It is sarcasm, and not particularly funny. I don’t know why ESB posted it. Some people don’t read beyond the headline and will get a completely wrong impressions. Harrison is a complete embarrassment.

The FLOORADOPE almost worked. A slightly longer count would have weakened Wilders arms as they are heavy when he holds them up

Posted April 28, 2013 10:28 pm

Audley “A-Force” Fan

You could tell Audley was gonna take Wilder places that he’d never been, i think GBP may have had to get to the ref before the fight. That was one of the worst stoppages i’ve seen, Audley was in control and clearly playing rope a dope at the time of the stoppage.

Posted April 28, 2013 10:25 pm

Harrison was always too negative and too hesitant, BUT in the past he wasnt particularly chinny and his defensive reflexes were ok so he never got battered. In recent times however he has been easily KO’d by Sprott, Haye, Price and now Wilder. I think its time for him to go, pretty much ANYONE on the top 30 or so heavies will ko Harrison nowadays. As for Wilder, this proves very little other than he has power. His defence, chin, heart, stamina and all round skills have yet to be tested, he might be the real deal, but we just dont know. Fury is far more seasoned, experienced and has far more tools than Wilder, even though younger. Those thinking Wilder would beat Fury based upon this fight are deluded. Fury has beaten far and away better opposition than Wilder. If Fury had the same opponents as Wilder it is likely he too would have KO’d them all within 4 rounds, they are truly woeful.

It’s official: Fantana is off his meds, and needs to be put in a padded cell and have electro-shock therapy immediately. That, or else go work in Pyongyang for the North Korean dictatorship. This is a special kind of stupid…

Posted April 28, 2013 5:49 pm

top hat

I think its easy to poke fun at audley, yeah he brings a lot on himself with his world title talk, but the guy is like many boxers through the different weight classes, good at national or european level but no more. That was Harrison he was good at british level and a european champion and should be more than happy with that. Gold medalist too. Its time to go now though Audley

Deontay Wilder (28-0, 28 KO’s) made a great job by knocking out Audley “Fraudley” Harrison and as early as after 1 minute in 1st round!!! Great job and now hoppfully we will see Harrison retire for good becouse NO ONE outside England want’s him fighting on. And speaking of Wilder vs, Fury, I would like to see that fight as I feel WIlder is a tough man but not great material yeth and Tyson Fury is good but overated so far so they should fight and it would be an heavy puncher fight.

Audley Harrison team are behind these posts. Everytime Audley loses i see a load of drivel from Fantana about what the ring, the referee and the ring girls did, never anything about Audley himself, who last night avoided eye contact with the referee after getting banged by a good shot.He couldn’t stand up!! He got paid a big purse for another 3 minutes. To put that into context this BUM has earned over £1.2 Million in no more than 30 minutes. You have done very well and Hearn has treated you great.retire knowing that for a European level fighter you have had more chances than most and have been paid very well despite consistently under performing. You should Retire. There are many young fighters feeding their families that could have taken that spot.

After watching him destroy little guys I was like damn, well what happens if he fight someone his own size and he did, the big country dude and Kimbo couldn’t handle it. There are no real boxing fans that thought he could beat the Klitchkos. That’s why they put him in MMA, cause MMA is garbage and they thought that was the best chance he had

The article’s title cracked me up:) … Audley is a good, British/European level fighter. The likes of Haye, Wilder and Price are the elite world contenders of the division. No shame in getting wiped out by those lot. Audley’s had a good career.

Posted April 28, 2013 3:00 pm

I would go one further than this,Audley is the best HW that has ever lived. If he could have got his self a better boot sponsor he wouldn’t have slipped over as much in his carrier and been a word wide sensation, even bigger than he is now if you can believe that possible.

Posted April 28, 2013 2:19 pm

I completely agree with this article. After seeing the way he was robbed in broad daylight against Price, though, it’s getting predictable. Harrison was also robbed in his fight against Haye, not to metnion those against Williams, Guin, Sprott and Rogan. I suspect that the Klitschkos are paying everyone off to make sure he never gets a title shot against them. If there were any justice, he would now be the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, with all the belts (including the Ring belt). I doubt there is a fighter in history who could legitimately beat him. 2014 will be his year for sure.

Posted April 28, 2013 2:14 pm
