Fighting Words – ” plus Floyd have never done well with South Paws.” yeah right, he just beats them up.

TARK

Floyd knows all about Robert… He watched the Berto fight and so how easy Guerrero was to tag with hard shots. Of course he also saw Robert’s toughness but he’s fought a lot of really tough characters.

Floyd leaves nothing to chance because he takes down 50-million a fight… He gets beat that goes away. The fans won’t buy 3-million PPV to see a loser.

Fighting Words

Mayweather is having Fighter’s remorse, by taking on a South Paw in first fight from a long lay off. I think he dropped the ball because he said he didn’t know Guerrero and had not seen him fight, so it can be safe to say, that he didn’t know Guerrero was South Paw until he had agreed to the fight and it was out in the media, so to save face he had to follow through with it…

HappyBoy: There is not such thing as plan A, B, C..ect. As you watch Mayweather fights, he always start out fighting the same way, doing the very minimum it would take to win the fight, but when his opponents do well with his very minimum of boxing, that’s when he would start fighting the way he had trained to fight that person. After to fight he would pitch this line to individuals like you, that he adjust, and have you fooled. There are certain punches you can throw in boxing, given that you are in the right position to land those punches. Such a jab, Hook, upper cut, overhand right, straight right or right cross. If politis does not play a role in this fight, Mayweather will lose by KO. Mayweather have not fought a pressure fighter in years since he fought Hatton, but we know that Hatton was too small, arms too short, weak chin is why he got KOed, but Guerrero is bigger and stronger with a good chin, plus Floyd have never done well with South Paws. even Jab Juda was looking good until uncle Roger jumped in the ring to help cause the fight to come to a end, Mayweather actually knock down, his glove touch the mat. Mayweather was over weight of 144 for the JMM fight…Hmmm, but he was at 147 3 weeks prior to fight night, believe it or not, the jail time and the inactivity along with the 3 months jail time have taken a little from Mayweather.

Come on Angel Garcia and Guerrero were also young men once but couldn’t even cut it to make it as pros. They’re not on the same level as Floyd snr even as coaches/ trainers. Pity snr is just too dumb to know it. He shouldn’t even be talking to those mtfs. His boxed with the best and trained the best now wtf is he even entertaining these morons.

Fighting Words – try think past the first gear ffs, Mayweather is not a one dimensional fighter, he has many ways to skin a cat, the shoulder roll/ Philly Shell is not his only weapon in his arsenal. That’s what makes him great his ability to turn from plan A, to B, to C if required to. His mental strength and heart are his best attributes to his domination of the sport aside from the hardwork & dedication to his craft. The man has mad skills yet his the hardest working and most dedicated.

TARK

The Philly Shell is a stance… The shoulder roll is a maneuver…

The shoulder roll is 100′s of years old… Jimmy Slattery, Tommy Ryan, George Dixon, Joe Gans, Peter Jackson, Willie Pep, Tommy Loughran, Mike Gibbons, Tommy Gibbons and others did the shoulder roll…… It’s probably gotten a lot more sophisticated by 2013.

Fighting Words

It is the right time for Floyd Jr to be defeated. The shoulder defense will not work well with a south paw pressure fighter because the punches that Floyd Jr are used to will be coming from the opposite direction and Floyd will be in the perfect position for a straight left hand down the pipe. I think Floyd will be stopped inside of 8. As he showed in the Cotto fight he does not move like he use to and by his own admission he got hit a lot, and Cotto did not apply any pressure, imagine if he had, Floyd would have been stopped. I can see the reinactment of the Tyson and Buster Douglass fight when Tyson would intimidate his opponents until he face Buster Douglass and got KO, I see history repeating itself with Floyd. With Guerrero expressing Christian belief seems have made Floyd nervous given the way he has talked disrespectfully to his father on national TV, It seems like Honor your father and your mother has prompt Floyd Jr to bring his dad back in his camp.. Can we say Hmmmm.

“I’m so tired of Floyd Mayweather Sr. acting like he invented that “shoulder roll type of defense”. He did not invent that style of defense! The great trainer George Benton was using that defense as a fighter back in the 60s.” – Correct. It’s called the Philly Shell. Floyd Sr didn’t invent anything he just talks a lot.

I’m so tired of Floyd Mayweather Sr. acting like he invented that “shoulder roll type of defense”. He did not invent that style of defense! The great trainer George Benton was using that defense as a fighter back in the 60s. You know the man who trained Holyfied,Pernell Whitaker,Meldrick Taylor,Mike McCallum,Leon Spinks, and Rocky Lockridge just to name a few. All of the previously mentioned were Champions. To those that dont know, Lou Duva was not the trainer of these fighters! Even though they show Lou in the ring between rounds toweling off some of these fighters, look closely at the guy who was talking in the fighters ears between the rounds that was Benton! Lou Duva was basically the spit bucket guy! Benton never entered in between the ropes with any of his fighters. For what reason, I dont think he ever explained. Check out some of Bentons fights on You Tube. You can see him doing the shoulder roll back in the 60s. Floyd Sr. is a great trainer but he did not invent that style. Dont know who acyally invented it but definately not Floyd Sr.

“Peterson is ped cheat, like Holyfield, wouldn’t of beat Tyson without it…” – True Peterson is a juicehead and so was Holy. But have no illusion, Mike was as well. His defense attorneys during the rape trial tried to say he did it due to temporary insanity caused by a toxic combination of steroids and alcohol.

USA boxers are losing their hold on the sport and as such, must use drugs to stay competitive with the stronger, harder working European fighters. We have just raised the bar here in Europe and USA can’t keep up.

The records of King Khan and Peterson should be changed to show Khan winning the fight. Peterson simply didn’t do it alone. Cheaters should not be rewarded.

It’s like a little clique over there, we are allowed to take peds, if we get caught so what, forget about it.

Peterson is ped cheat, like Holyfield, wouldn’t of beat Tyson without it, and numerous other USA Boxers, Toney, Mosley etc, etc, etc, you can’t just brush that under the carpet.

I’m not sure how good of a trainer Sr. is or not, but I’m sure his biggest problem with being a trainer has to do with reliability. You can be the best at something, but if your not there when you’re needed, what good are you?

Excellent! Thanks for having another interview with Floyd Sr. It’s been too long. Keep them coming, please! One more thing: please, folks, don’t criticize Floyd Sr. unique use of the English language. After all, would the film My Fair Lady have been as successful without all the various English pattens of speech? No!
