Its PPV because of a combination of the following:
Hobson gambled on the fight financially so it didnt go to the purse bid and potentially losing home advantage. JM wanted the fight at the Keepmoat Stadium…home of the local Football team and has taken a pittance compared to the mexican to gain the home venue.
The Stadium management offered them very few dates as the football pitch was almost grassless for the last few home football games of the season and it is being dug up and relaid.
These dates also didnt fit in with Skys schedule.
They have sold close to 9000 tickets….yes…9000 tickets for this scrap which am sure is softening the loss of tv revenue.
Primetime was their only viable option for coverage.

Junior. I think the reason the fight is ppv is Primetime TV are a ppv network and none of the other networks (Boxnation or Sky) have picked it up.
