Squared-Circle (a.k.a. LionKing)

Like I’ve already said a few different times, Lara will take this by UD due his sharp technical skills and will move-up in the rankings. However, he is NOT the best 154lb fighter out there, as he really didn’t beat Molina or Vanes. Canelo will outbox and beat-up on Cubano Lara — when they finally meet. To even imply that Canelo is ducking Lara is preposterous. Real Talk.

Angulo by early ko,Lara cant handle the heat Angulo will put on him…

I originally picked Angulo to beat Lara, but after watching a replay last night of Angulo’s fight with Silva, I’ve changed my mind. Even though Silva is no slouch, Angulo got hit way too much by him and he had a very tough time with Silva. Lara is a much better boxer than Silva so I think Angulo will eat even more punches from Lara. So I’m changing my pick to Lara by UD. No matter what happens though, it should be a great fight!

Angulo going to find out that getting in the ring with Lara, is’nt so easy that a caveman can do it. Just joking.. Heck this will be a good weekend for fights, wheres the press on Dawson/Stevenson?

All I can say is that Lara better do a better job in the early rounds against Angulo than he did against Martirosyan or Angulo will have his number.

You also believe CAnelo will out box Floyd right??

Posted June 5, 2013 9:11 pm

I still think he can take Lara out though.should be good for how long it lasts.

Posted June 5, 2013 6:34 pm

Largo maybe the beating he took from Kirkland took it out him a good bit, I just watched it and man your right he was chewing on some bombs, especially uppercuts which will rattle your brain like a pinball machine, you might be onto something,il be closely watching his punch resistance.

Angulo will do what he does best which is cut off the ring and catch Lara and put him to sleep….done deal….

One of the “most inpirational stories in boxing” ??? What is this writer smoking and can he pass it to me? Inspirational? For getting locked up for 6 months? Please. Dewey Bozella – now that’s inspirational. He served 26 YEARS in Sing Sing for a murder he didn’t commit… Got released from prison and won a fight at age 52.

Maybe Angulo’s auditioning for a Geico commercial.

Public enemy- you never learn. You just like stirring up mess. Obvious steroid users? Why? Cause they Mesicans?… ( I know its suppose to say mexicans)

Dalekojak-worst than that, he got a boxing lesson from Kermit Cintrón, which is one of the most improbable things that can happen to you in boxing other than getting KOd by Pauly Malnnaggi

Posted June 5, 2013 8:06 am

Public Enemy

His look is more like a Neanderthal and its due to years of Steriods abuse, we see the same look in MargaCheato, Saldio, Vargas and Canelo.. all obvious Steriods abusers

lara will smash him, he’s too one dimensional. butttt I like him, i’d like to see him catch lara with a big shot. also, are there different people pretending to be angulo? he looks different every single time I see him.

Posted June 5, 2013 6:49 am

largo

Angulo has the same unhealthy look that Cotto has, a look that suggests a thousand too many shots to the head.Guys that are playing Russian roulette with their health; guys that are just a few punches away from punch-drunk land, IF they’re not already there…

Posted June 5, 2013 4:26 am

largo

Kornerman, it’s my own way to see it, Angulo looks shot to me, the way he moves & talks & the way the punches bother him…i think that anybody with a decent punch will stop him, no sweat. In fact, i think Lara has a good chance to stop him. I don’t go all out on Lara Knocking him TFO because Lara is who he is, a guy that doesn’t go for it…but Angulo can’t take good shots anymore, believe me. I think that if Lara crack’im good-despite of himself-he’ll take’im out but that’s just me.

Posted June 5, 2013 4:13 am

KOrnerman

that comment you made abut Lara is true, he’s got no heart or no passion like you say, I agree, I don’t think Angulo is shot though I thought he was still a hungry fighter, am I missing something?

Posted June 5, 2013 3:30 am

KOrnerman

largo what makes you think Angulo is shot?

Posted June 5, 2013 3:27 am

KOrnerman

diggin the Grizzly Adam’s look.

Posted June 5, 2013 3:10 am

largo

Neither one of these guys is relevant at 154. Angulo to me is shot & Lara, who is a good technician, has no passion; Angulo doesn’t have even a puncher’s chance. A shot fighter loses to a good technician. That’s it.

Te Tumbo- what’s up mi pana? A couple of interesting months coming up for you. Best of luck. Sorry to say this, but I think this is a baaaaaad match up for Angulo. Movement is like kryptonite for El Perro.

Posted June 4, 2013 9:56 pm

Tomato Can

Angulo does have good pop, but Lara will give him angles and make him follow him around the ring. Angulo will be missing punches and catching counters. I think this is the perfect fight for Lara to gain some recognician. If he doesn’t win this fight impressively, he’ll never rea h his full potential.

Posted June 4, 2013 9:07 pm

Fight Aficionado

“Angulo is slow as a legless Burro…” – LOL. Yes, he’s slow but when he catches dudes he hurts them. Problem with Lara is if he doesn’t build an big early lead he doesn’t have the mentality to go after guys to bridge the gap. So if he either 1. builds a lead after 6 rounds he’s basically gotta play defense and then he may still lose a close decision since judges don’t seem to like him. 2. He gets caught or doesn’t have a lead to defend, losing by TKO or UD.

Angulo didnt look as good in his last outing either, he seemed to get away from what he and Hunter had been working on ..

Posted June 4, 2013 8:52 pm

Lara looked mediocre in his last fight. I even thought he was losing…
I would not be shocked if Angulo wins…

Pubic Enema

AAHH tumbo such poetry !!

Posted June 4, 2013 8:27 pm

te tumbo

the key will be how much pressure Angulo is able to effectively apply to Lara who is as overrated as Williams was in his time. he should be rematching Molina. anyway, Lara is a front-runner. once he falls behind he lacks the grit and heart to reclaim the momentum. accordingly, Angulo must attack and not relent and force Lara to Fight or run for his pro-life. i’ll leave it to others to describe the safe and conventional scenario that most are predicting.

Posted June 4, 2013 7:51 pm

Peloton

Angulo is only good if someone is willing to trade with him, he wears guys down if they stay in the pocket with him. That Jigga is exciting to watch against another slugger. That being said, Lara is too slick for the dog, he will hit then run just like Kermit the killer cintron did. Boring way of winning the fight, but effective nonetheless.

Angulo byTKO rd 6/7

Posted June 4, 2013 6:19 pm

Angulo fun to watch BUT

Lara will outbox him easily. Lara by wide UD.

The real question , is whether Alf will fight with that SEXY Bali hair do !!!

Posted June 4, 2013 5:31 pm

cstmedical

I look for Angulo to catch Lara and knock him about within 3-4 rounds.. Angulo has been sparring with better boxers than Lara…I f Lara runs he has a chance of surviving but as the great Joe Louis used to say’ypu can run but you cant hide”

Fight Aficionado

Since Angulo went to jail he’s taken on the Grizzly Adams look. Strange. In any case this is a great matchup that I expect Angulo to pull off.

Posted June 4, 2013 3:45 pm

Squared-Circle (a.k.a. LionKing)

I’d love to see Perro smash this guy out, but Lara is a high-skilled, super technical fighter who will outbox him on the cards. He is former teammates with Rigo, and those guys from the Cuban national team have very polished, well-rounded skills. One of the best amateur programs in the world, hand down. Lara will take this by UD and continue to move up in the rankings.

Posted June 4, 2013 3:21 pm

hecdog

Lara will destroy Angulo easily.

Nice fights, I didn’t even realize they were taking this place this weekend until now. I’ll go out on a ledge and state that I think Angulo will be made to order for Lara. I see Lara stopping Anglulo in the late rounds. That’s no to knock Angulo, I just think Lara has way too much boxing ability for Angulo. He’ll counter the heck out of him. Angulo may have his moments early and may even win some of the early rounds but after that it’ll be all Lara, IMO.

Poor Lara, I hope his stretcher is comfy…

Posted June 4, 2013 1:51 pm

Kirkland, who is no elite fighter per se, taxed angulo’s ass. Now, if he can do it, Lara will do it in spades.
