“The majority of Filipino sports writers in the Philippines had Marquez winning the second fight.” The fact is,Pacquiao should have been scored two knockdowns over Marquez in the third round. The first knockdown was obviously clear but after the 8-count Pacquiao caught Marquez again and had Marquez not hung onto the ropes he would have gone down. Watch the fight again you’ll see Marquez stay on his feet by holding onto the ropes. Well, Anonymous, in boxing, that’s a knockdown. When a fighter hangs on the ropes, to keep himself from going down it’s a knockdown. But Ref Bayless didn’t call it as such. But he should have. Pac won that fight. Period.

LMAO! Right. And your source for this info is?

LOL! I recommend that Pacquiao fight Bambi the fawn and Bradley fight Booboo the bear. Wait, Booboo might kick his butt.

gotta hand it to you. takes a lot of brass to vouch for the integrity of boxing scorecards these days. otherwise, the consensus among serious fight-fans (and filipino journalists) is that Marquez’s unofficial record v. Pacquiao* is 2-0-1. if only the ref had deducted a point from Pacquiao* for hitting Marquez while he was down in the first round of their first fight, Marquez would be 3-0 . . . among serious fight-fans, that is.

If these fights have been so one sided, why do we keep having rematches? There is a real mind bender for ya isn’t it Jess?

yeah right, Manny loss those fights? could of sworn when i looked at his record against JMM those fights were in his win column.

Posted September 7, 2012 9:59 am

sgt p

JMM only has the inside track because arum own BOTH fighters and gets a HUGE percentage from both purses. manny should have done what floyd/oscar did years ago…dump arum and start his own promotional company so he could fight whoever he wanted to…manny also stalled until great fights couldnt be made (Maidana or Matthysse) would have been EXPLOSIVE! the reason manny is considered a coward is NOT what he does in the ring..he is a great fighter! its because he is afraid to tell arum no…hell, let arum have his way, manny will see JMM two more times he dont give a shyt.

I would say Marquez dominated him in the second fight. Marquez also controlled the action in the third fight. It was pathetic seeing Pacquiao scared to throw punches for fear of what would be coming back. Marquez was the one in control. Pacquiao EATS LEATHER whenever he fights Marquez. That’s a fact. Sorry your guy isn’t skilled enough to deal with a high level counter puncher. Being the best offensive fighter in the world doesn’t mean anything when you’re fighting an elite counter puncher who times your punches and movements and throws with pinpoint accuracy.

The majority of Filipino sports writers in the Philippines had Marquez winning the second fight. Please don’t try to spew your fanboy talk without knowing what you’re talking about. Pacquiao LOST his second fight with Marquez, and probably also lost the third fight as well. You know your guy definitely lost when the majority of sports writers from YOUR OWN COUNTRY had Marquez winning that second fight.

I definitely though Pac beat Bradley but a robbery no. After watching the replay which the judges don’t get to do, Pac did not land many punches on him. As for the 3 fights with Marquez I thought Pac won the first 2 and lost the 3rd.

Cuchulain: Right on!! I would said that “Bradley already beat him” at blinding the two judges. That’s why I will not pay if there’s a rematch. On the other hand, I always pay for the Marquez fights. In all fairness to Marquez, I always thought that Mayweather came in overweight on purpose and Marquez did not come up in weight with power or speed. Those two elements were stacked up against Marquez. Yes, could be that Mayweather would have won but not as one-sided.

Stopped reading at the …”Bradley already beat him” bit.

Pacquiao sucks!!!

I doubt the fans want to see Manny beat up on Bradley again and get robbed a second time. What a farce.

Bradley would be the easier choice for Manny. Marquez could potentially get the decision at this point.

Ok…so u think marquez won every round when they last fought???your an idiot!!!

1st fight Pacquiao won; 2nd fight Marquez won; 3rd fight was a draw in every sense of the word. All three fights were very close — one-sided domination is never close — neither of them can be said to succeed at one-sided domination when they fight EACH OTHER. Would love to see the 4th fight just because these two know how to put on a real solid boxing match — they are both very exciting fighters to watch — and are like a waterdrop version of each other. My opinion is in the minority, so yes, we know that I will be crucified by either the Pacquiao fans or the Marquez fans.

jess
