The most hilarious thing last night was watching all those young Mexican Fighters with the Shaved Eyebrows? I thought only Ricans did that sht?? per Dumbo.. That sht was funny as hell…. even Micky had trimmed those Neanderthalish Unibrows…

Until then we will have to wait for Floyd Mayweather to Box Cinnabums Ears off.. that will be nice.. just like Chavez Cheato Jr. getting exposed… face it, All Mexican Boxers have flopped at the Elite LEvels in the past Decade.. Mickey LaRata Mejicana Garcia will eventually have to face some Puerto Rican his true Size..

I think what Puerto Rican Danny Garcia did to Sore loser Eric Morales was much worse or Gabriel Rosado KO’ing Soto Karass, or Rocky Martinez chasing down and KO’ing that mex.. and God knows how Many Mexicas Tito Trinidad Decapitated like Fernando LardaSS.. now JuanMa did KO alot of Mexican Culito as well like Marquez, Poncedeleon and Leavuanu, Kermint Cintron Boxing Angulos Ears off.. etc etc etc.. Dumbo plenty of Puerto Ricans kickin a lot of Mexican Culitos.. its just a matter of months or weeks before we see another Puerto Rican kickin some Mexican Culito.. what can you do, Ricans will always be in the Boxing Mix and there aint sht you can do about it.. another “proud” rican beat up by a skilled and talented Mexican. it’s difficult to conjure up any real excitement considering that it’s another routine BeatDown of your typical headfirst Rican plodder, e.g., Gomez, LaPorte, Rosario, TriniDud, JuanMono, and Martinez NEXT. they’ll always be outdrawn and shot down by skilled technicians and ring-warriors like Sanchez, DLH, and Garcia, i.e., what “rivalry”? “Pueltoh Licohhh. My heart’s devotion. Let it sink back into the ocean”. Rita Moreno’s dream is finally coming true . . . (lol) . . . “Cannn-Tahhh y no Llores”.

Well JuanMa got KTFO but what could you expect?? He looked Drained and weak.. from basically spending 5 weeks trying to get down to the Weight the Garcia Camp demanded or no fight??? 126lbs then Garcia pulls a fast one and decides to come in at 128lbs and decides not to even try to lose the 2lbs to him the Mandatory 126lbs.. JuanMa looked Terrible. Weak, off Balance.. much like Cotto after he was weight drained.. as Max Kellerman said “he has a problem with the house fighters like Mayweather, Broner and Mickey Garcia buying themselves a Weight advantage over their opponents.. and what really pissed me off is that the excuse all along was that Mickey could no longer make 126lbs that he was sick from trying to make 126lbs and then when asked post fight if he was moving up to 130lbs by Max Kellerman he said “Uh, NO I think I can still make 126lbs” Whatdafk.. So the excuses of him not being able to make 126lbs anymore and almost dying trying were all Bullsht… JuanMa needs to just go back to 130lbs work on some kind of defense and fight at his true weight.. when and if Mickey ever grows some Balls and moves to his true weight class of 140lbs he can take on Matthyssee or Danny Garcia… JuanMa will always have his fans because he never ever showed any kind of fear taking on this Cheating weasel…

Quite incredible, yet typical among fatheads who now take a page from floyd’s book and weigh in over the weight limit when they have a heightened sense of fear, the fear of losing. Max Kellerman put in very succinctly when he said fighters are commonly weighing more than the contractual limits, which has more than any other reason, the appearance of impropriety. Further, when situations like this surface, these fights should really not take place because it benefits no one but the offender which in this case was Mikey “fathead” Garcia, regardless of any penalty he paid to soothe over the situation. Whether lopez would have lost had fathead weighed in at 126 is besides the point, because absolutely no one knows that for certain. Fathead Garcia is no professional and if he fights at 126 again without violating his contractual terms, than he certainly had a genuine fear of Lopez. As a professional he should know whether or not he can make weight way ahead of time. His reputation has lost it’s luster. Lopez on the other hand should not have accepted fathead’s 150K “bribe.”

H needs to grow up. Who knows what he’ll be weighing. The title should be given to Juanma. He signed his contract, made the required weight, and Garcia failed. All Lopez has to do is win tonight, If he gets KO’d he can fight for the vacant title against a lesser talented fighter. Its a win win for Lopez. Keep in Mind the PR team did not have to proceed with the fight, they made a decision to accept the dinero. Having said that, lets see what happens.

Garcia pulled a Broner, now Garcia next fight will be at 130 or 135. He will have success at either weight.

For whatever this is worth, a camera man for HBO mentioned to a very good friend who is convering the fight for another web periodical that Mikey was vomiting yesterday before the weigh in and didn’t look very good.

I have a feeling that there’s more here than meets the eye. I have a really strange feeling that we’re going to see an upset tonight, guys!!

They are no excuses once a fighter and his team sell out for a few extra dollars. The fight is on, Mickey will KO Lopez within 8 rounds and move on to bigger and better things.

It’s really easy to criticize a fighter for taking the payoff rather than doing the “honorable” thing and cancelling the fight.

But, boxing is a very unique sport.

Juanma doesn’t get a big payday for cancelling the bout and just went through a lengthy and more than likely pain staking training camp for nothing.

Judge slowly, guys.

Te Tumbo- you’re absolutely right about one thing, Arum certainly doesn’t see any upside in Juanma at this point, so he decided to feed him to the lions and, if the cards are stacked against him so be it. But there’s something to be said for a proud man humiliated and discarded the way Junma has been, the victory tastes even sweeter. My man is fighting against all odds, but I hope he goes out on his shield and makes us proud even in defeat. And I also hope he can land just one hook on Mickey’s chin.

Juanma and his PR team chose extra dollars rather than hold Garcia’s feet to the fire. The PR team just guaranteed an brutal ass whooping to Juanma.

when Mayweather did the same v. Marquez it was Floyd-Haters who pissed and moaned about his lack of professionalism. i blamed Marquez for going ahead with the bout. there are rules to address these situations. instead of collecting the penalty-money and canceling the bout, Marquez and Lopez decided to collect the fines and go ahead with the bout. so be it. Garcia wins by KO, PR boxing will be thoroughly eliminated from the roster of serious contenders, and nothing will change that in the annals of Boxing.

Garcia has done nothing wrong. JuanMono’s fanboys are desperately grasping for pre-fight excuses to explain Curious Juan being planted face-first into the canvas. otherwise, i f’n DARE JuanMono to pull out of this fight. go ahead. he may end up back in Salido’s wheelhouse if he does something like that but he won’t. no more hometown venues or Arum-approved judges for JuanMono. he’s already being treated like an afterthought but the true P4Prs of te sport, which doesn’t include JuanMono.

Same comments we keep hearing over and over when these fighters come in a few pounds heavier at weighin then balloon up 15 – 20+lbs come fight night… then the losing fighter says “they were just too big” Chavez Jr, Canelo have been doing this for years and I guess now Mickey Garcia is following in their Footsteps..

IRON MIKE- -Marquez/Mayweather is the. Perfect example of a couple of pounds making a huge difference on fight night. Would May had won anyway? Probably, but as it happened he basically took away even the small chance Marquez had by not boiling down and coming in fresher and stronger. Marquez’s first comment after the fight? He was just too big.

When these fighters try to make a weight they are at almost ZERO percent Body fat.. So getting to that weight is seriously damaging to them.. JuanMa originally stated he could not make the weight but Garcias Camp demanded it be at 126lbs.. with only 4 weeks to train! JuanMa trained hard and made the Weight.. then Garcias Camp just decides Nah, We’re not going down to 126lbs we’ll stay at 129Lbs!!! and give up his Championship belt and not even TRY to lose the 2lbs?? Why?? because they knew that if Mickey went down to 126lbs JuanMa was going to KO him.. They didn’t count on JuanMa making the 126lbs with only 4 weeks to train… and looking pretty good in the process…. Hopefully Karma puts her hand in this and makes things right…

Mex – “You fools still seem to forget jaun ma is a big fighter at 126.. he might outweigh Mikey when Bell.ringer” But JuanMa had to break down an additional 2.5 lbs of Muscle that Mickey did not have to do to make the 126lbs.. Mickey ate better, relaxed, didn’t have to break down additional Muscle to make the weight.. It’s Cheating and puts JuanMa at a major dissadvantage.. shameful from a fighter like Garcia which appeared to be an ok guy.. When Mayweather did this to Marquez and Broner to Escobedo everyone of you Mex’s crying foul for months… but now one of yours does it vs a PR and its just fine and dandy…

Why must you mexicans never ever admit one of your guys is doing something wrong? The WEIGHT for this Championship fight is 126lbs!!! The Champion is OBLIGATED to come in at that weight or lower.. Everyone with half a brain knows this.. The WBO and JuanMa are Counting on the Fighters coming in at that fkn weight because that’s the god damn WEIGHT Limit for the fight.. It’s what the Garcia Camp demanded of JuanMa with only 3 weeks to train!!!! JuanMa complys and then they go and don’t even bother making the Weight!!! That’s a Violation and the Reason Garcia got stripped of the Title and the fight was called off.. JuanMa was under no obligation to fight Garcia but luckily JuanMa agreed to fight him after Garcia got fined.. and had Pay JuanMa part of his purse to continue with the fight..

” And stop it with the “it’s all about skills…” no it’s not. Otherwise Dawson would have won last night”-Dawson’s SKILLS have deteriorated SO much since he left Floyd Sr. that Stevenson has more SKILL than him now. That’s why Stevenson WON. SO I am CORRECT yet again. Margarito beat people with SIZE and PLASTER which is illegal. SO all of his WINS are NULLIFIED….Spinks’ FEAR of Tyson created stage Fright and stage fright can zap your SKILLS turning you from PRO to AMATEUR in less than a minute. Tyson’s SKILLS were MUCH BETTER than Spinks’ on that night. And that’s why he WON.

“Two pounds in itself is not nessesarily a major advantage, but deciding a couple of days before a weigh in you’re not going to kill yourself to make weight is. It means eating better, being more hydrated and being stronger fight night”-Well THANK you for admitting that 2 pounds isn’t much to talk about. Now IF a guy has to kill himself to make a certain weight then that’s is not under the opponents control SO that is not something that JuanMa can go into the Fight COUNTING on. That would be ASININE. How would he know that Mikey can’t make the weight comfortably while eating and being hydrated and being as strong as ever on Fight night???? HOW could HE actually know Mikey’s body THAT well???……IF he was SMART he prepared for the strongest version of Mikey NOT a weakened version. Therefore he would STILL be prepared for Mikey. Mikey was just be 2 pounds bigger at the weigh in than himself…..Not a big deal. Its been overcome BEFORE.

Posted June 15, 2013 2:30 am

CORRECTAMUNDO

“it it weren’t a big deal do you believe Garcia would
‘ve allowed himself to get stripped of the belt in such a humiliating manner???”-IT was a big deal for Mikey to lose 2 pounds of Muscle but 2 pounds isn’t a big deal in determining the WINNER of a Fight. 20 lbs is a big deal in determining who WINS a Fight. IF JuanMa can’t beat anyone who is 2 pounds Bigger than himself then he isn’t that GOOD anyway.

Posted June 15, 2013 2:21 am

CORRECTAMUNDO

IF JuanMa was depending on Mikey losing his MUSCLE to WIN then he was just hoping anyway. How did he know that Mikey just didn’t have to lose FAT to make 126????

Posted June 15, 2013 2:16 am

CORRECTAMUNDO

“it’s not about 2lbs it’s about Mickey Garcia not having to lose 2lbs of Muscle to get down to the MANDATORY 126lb weight limit.. something JuanMA had to do and he did it.. this gives Garcia a HUGE advantage over a much more weakened JuanMa”-Your logic is VERY POOR. How DO you know that Lopez didn’t just lose FAT while Mikey had to lose MUSCLE???? All bodies are NOT the SAME. It may take one guy to lose FAT to get to a certain weight while another guy may have to lose MUSCLE to get to that same weight…. Losing FAT is not equivalent to losing MUSCLE…. I saw pics on JuanMa a few months ago and he was FAT. SO of course its easier for him to lose more FAT off of his body. Mikey has lost all of his FAT and now is left with MUSCLE and he’s not goingto be a DUMMY and drain his MUSCLES. SO he’s only 2 pounds bigger than Lopez. SO WHAT??? Both guys DID what they could DO and they’re at a comfortable weight. SO SKILLS will most likely WIN the Fight. Not weight.

Boxtra- And stop it with the “it’s all about skills…” no it’s not. Otherwise Dawson would have won last night, everybody would have beat Margarito, Spinks would have beat Tyson and I could go on forever talking about guys who won on heart, power, stamina or sheer stubbornness. The guy that beats Rigondeaux is not going to beat him because he has better skills.

Posted June 14, 2013 10:10 pm

srminimo

Boxtra- Two pounds in itself is not nessesarily a major advantage, but deciding a couple of days before a weigh in you’re not going to kill yourself to make weight is. It means eating better, being more hydrated and being stronger fight night. The difference between this and Canelo is that Canelo agreed to fight at 152. If he comes in at 156, do you think Floyd would still fight the guy? This is the second time, btw, that Mickey takes the easy way out. First with Salido and now he doesn’t even try to make weight.

IF JuanMa can’t knock the guy out just because of a 2 pound disadvantage then he needs to take notes from Juan Manuel Marquez on HOW to DO it. He knocked a guy out who weighed in 4 pounds heavier.

Posted June 14, 2013 7:50 pm

Public Enemy

Correctamundo – do you read?? The fight was cancelled by the WBO but because Mikey had to pay a fine and was stripped of the Belt and JuanMa agreed to go ahead with the heavier Garcia it was given the go ahead by the WVO and JuanMa…

Posted June 14, 2013 7:47 pm

Public Enemy

The weight is 126lbs and not having to break down an extra 2lbs of Muscle to get down to that 126lbs is a Major advantage for Garcia.. something JuanMa said would be difficult for him to do yet he had the discipline to do it… If Mickey had played fair and forced himself to the proper weight of 126lbs for the belt it would be a fair fight but he chose to not do it??? I think he got scared seeing how well JuanMa was looking and knew that if he went down to the mandatory 126lbs he’d get KO’d by JuanMa..

Posted June 14, 2013 7:46 pm

CORRECTAMUNDO

20 lbs is considered a major advantage in Boxing. IF Mikey came in 20 lbs Bigger than Lopez then the bout would have been cancelled.

Posted June 14, 2013 7:35 pm

CORRECTAMUNDO

The reason he was stripped of the belt is because the limit is 126 for the belt. Not because its a major advantage. IF it was such a Major advantage then the bout would have been cancelled. And IF 2 pounds was such a major advantage Pacquiao would have beaten Marquez who didn’t weigh in 2 pounds lighter he weighed in 4 POUNDS lighter. SO 2 pounds is not the deciding factor in who the WINNER will be. SKILLS and Boxing IQ are the deciding factors.

Posted June 14, 2013 7:33 pm

Public Enemy

Correctamundo – Garcias camp was the ones that wanted it at 126lbs or nothing so Juanma who said making that weight would be tough agreed and made the weight.. then the Garcia camp pulls a fast one and decides not to go down to 126lbs??? JuanMa had to break down an extra 2lbs of Muscle while Garcia didn’t have to break down an extra 2lbs of Muscle. Tha iis a Major advantage for Garcia and the reason he was stripped of the Belt… The Belt is for the 126lb weight class and that’s what you have to weigh or you have to get the fk out of that weight class… Cheap tactic by Garcia..

“DeLeon and Luevano were also elite”? i recall Ponce and Lopez making a move towards that status in their crossroads bout, which Lopez won but first-round KOs are notoriously deceptive. his win over Luevano was also the final fight of Luevano’s career. i don’t see any wins over truly elite fighters but a lot of close calls and hometown losses v. tough and very good fighters. Salido has lost v. every elite opponent he’s faced except for the presumably elite Lopez. i’m grateful that Lopez isn’t avoiding the tough comeback bout but considering the odds, i’m beginning to wonder whether he’s not viewed as a gatekeeper already(?).

Styles make fights…the plan isn’t necessarily to make Mikey look like a superstar, but to at least make him look entertaining…hence his most recent opposition.

He’s already considered an elite level talent, but isn’t one of the most exciting fighters in boxing and isn’t a big ticket seller as a result.

Top Rank wants to rectify this with an action filled fight with a guy who likes to let his hands go.

But Mikey is the type of fighter who often turns offensive minded punchers into tentative defensive shells because of his explosive counter punching ability.

Both Top Rank and HBO are hoping for an action filled fight for Mikey Garcia.

If Mikey can provide a dramatic and action filled fight, it will better for his career than a lack luster, one sided domination. Boxing is supposed to be entertaining…first and foremost!!

te tumbo- yeah, the plan is to make Mickey look like a superstar. He’s a sharp puncher and Juanma has more than a porous defense, I’ve never seen ANYBODY catch punches as flush as Juanma does on a regular basis. But as you mentioned, he did deck Salido (and everybody else he’s touched). Will Mickey have the chin and the resolve if Juanma catches him? Juanma’s offense might not save hiom at the end of the day, but it’s his only chance.

Mikey by sudden KO. can’t imagine it ending in any other way. Lopez is damaged goods and will be wary of exposing his chin once again. that will play into Mikey’s patient style punctuated by sudden powerpunches through Lopez’s porous defense. those thinking that offense is gonna save Lopez are simply not paying attention. it’s Lopez’s porous defense that got him into trouble v. Salido. this was after Lopez had to abandon his boxing-punching style, which was only fueling Salido’s momentum. Lopez does have a powerpunch that decked Salido but when Salido got up, Lopez lacked the elite poise or finishing-skills to close the show and once again exposed his own chin with his emphasis on offense. is Lopez going to suddenly transform himself into “Winky” Wright or Mayweather? Hell-No. this could very well end up as Garcia’s first masterpiece. whether it be boxing or punching skills, the advantage goes to Garcia.

I’ve noticed a change in the attitude of Juanma as well, Sr Minimo.

Most people forget that he was going through a really nasty divorce during his fights with Salido. That’s enough to distract even the strongest of men.

I think we’ll see the best version of Lopez this time…if he didn’t sustain too much damage at the hands of Salido, that is.

Joseph- Agree. I also have a feeling he might just pull off the upset if he can stay away from trouble the first four or five rounds (maybe it’s just wishful thinking). There also seems to be a calmness about him that is markedly different from the exuberant Juanma pre-Salido. Every interview I’ve seen of him lately he has spoken about his surprise in having fans “still love me” and he seems to have made weight easier than ever, which leads me to believe there might just be a new found maturity for him.

Juanma’s best chance to win is to make Mikey take the lead and catch him with the check right hook, his money punch, as he’s coming in.

We’ve never seen Mikey’s chin checked and really don’t know if he can take a punch.

i have a feeling we’ll find out this Saturday night!! Can’t wait!!
