It’s Me, Ernie
50 sets? Name them…Posted June 17, 2013 12:41 pm
Squared Circle…, I’ve never seen brothers fight… I’ve seen 50 sets of brothers in the same weight class—and none of them ever fought.. Brothers spar a lot but that means nothing. Blood does mean much more than money because you’d die for your brother or any member of your immediate family. But I suppose some day it will happen that brothers fight … and that will be a sad day.
Floyd and Broner aren’t brothers—and this is a money business. Whenever I’ve seen friends say they’d never fight each other—forget that. They do it every time money talks. It is tough to punch your friend, but you fight a lot of guys you like. It’s your job. If you’re a contractor bidding on a job a friend of yours wants, you want to beat him out all the more. Your competitive juices start boiling over. You don’t want to rank beneath him.
First there’s Canelo. If Saul can make the weight and be strong and fresh, that will be murder on Floyd… If Floyd squeaks by Canelo there will be Broner… If Floyd manages to outpoint the young demon, there will be Matthysse… If he fights those guys I really don’t care who else he fights in the other 2 on his Showtime contract.Posted June 17, 2013 1:10 am
Squared Circle… Broner’s aganda isn’t Matthysse, Provodnikov, Garcia, or Bradley.. He’s looking to clobber Paulie and get in on the Floyd sweepstake.. That was Guerrero’s path from 135 to 147. He didn’t have anybody else in mind.
If Canelo beats Floyd, Broner will maybe face a big hitter at 147 or 140… I would be very interested in watching all those matches, except Bradley.. He’s a good boxer, but there’s no explosion there.Posted June 16, 2013 10:29 pm
Broner has “poor defensive skills?” How do you figure? Or is that just your dislike of the guy that leads you to say that?Posted June 16, 2013 9:05 pm
Squared-Circle (a.k.a. LionKing)
Broner totally leap-frogged the Jr. WW division because he’s knows there are a few guys at that weight-class who would expose his poor defensive skills and beat his ass. It was much, much easier to go mug feather-fisted Yo Paulie for his paper WW title.
A win over Paulie won’t impress me in the slightest. Little Gavin Rees was able to tag Broner almost at will. Let’s see how Broner’s chin stands-up to guy who can really BANG. He should fight Matthysse, Danny Garcia, Bradley, PacMan or Mike Alvarado. Ruslan Provodnikov would a good place to start!Posted June 16, 2013 8:08 pm
“Pinning your hopes on PM to beat Broner makes no sense. ” You talking to me Happyboy?Posted June 16, 2013 8:04 pm
All this stuff about Paulie taking Broner to school and kicking his ass is utter crap.. It’s like these posters never saw Paulie or Broner fight before.Posted June 16, 2013 7:57 pm
Pinning your hopes on PM to beat Broner makes no sense. PM has never beat anyone worth mentioning his not gonna start with Broner. This is going to be a clinic Paulie is gonna get a ghetto beatdown a KO will only spare him the humiliation and pain.Posted June 16, 2013 4:33 am
“What Broner is saying … is he’s a natural welterweight ANYWAY… He’ll be fighting at his natural weight. He won’t have to go through the physical ordeal of sweating off 15 pounds to make the lightweight limit and rehydrate to his natural poundage — which takes a lot out of any fighter.” I think most of us know this, Tark. But he’s used to training for a much lighter weight. Regardless, I just hope Paulie gives him a really good scrap.Posted June 16, 2013 2:13 am
Happyboy, does Paulie have any other choice? He’ll be looking for a KO. He’s going to have to use his right frequently. I never said the guy would win. But I really do believe he’s going to fight hard this fight. Nothing better that Paulie would like to do than shut up Broner’s mouth. Makes sense to me.Posted June 16, 2013 2:11 am
Hidalgo – ” I expect Paulie to fight balls out and shooting a lot of power punches.” lmfao, Pauli has power punches, stop goofing around and come to your senses.Posted June 15, 2013 6:28 pm
The Mad Scientist
This fight is only gonna show us what we already knew about both boxers..nothing really to see here, Paulie can’t punch himself out of a wet paper bag to save his lifePosted June 15, 2013 5:54 pm
It’s really crazy that I’m ashamed of being a big Broner fan, but I am. That being said, I would love to see Paulie take him to school and put a thorough ass whipping on him. I won’t be betting that this will happen, but at the same time, I won’t be surprised if it does. Getting outclassed by a veteran like Paulie could be good for his development and teach the little brat that he still has more to learn.Posted June 15, 2013 3:55 pm
He can finish Paulie… He’s not a commnetator. He gave PM credit for being a good talker. He let Paulie go on and wanted to let him talk.
He knows all the BS Paulie throw at the level of his opposition is pure nonsense.. Broner beats world champion and full time fighters to death — while Paulie can’t made a dent in a dough boy Mosley just beat in a sparring session.Posted June 15, 2013 3:42 pm
Paulie! Paulie! Paulie! Boner can barely finish a sentence…Posted June 15, 2013 3:29 pm
Strait up I’m mad at the sport I mean c’mon it’s obvious like Paulie said they match broner up with cooks, bus drivers, and cell phone salesmen broner shoulder rolls and now he’s the new Floyd? New era of the sport?, that’s exactly what they were trying to do with nonito before rigondeaux to him back to class!Posted June 15, 2013 3:13 pm
What Broner is saying … is he’s a natural welterweight ANYWAY… He’ll be fighting at his natural weight. He won’t have to go through the physical ordeal of sweating off 15 pounds to make the lightweight limit and rehydrate to his natural poundage — which takes a lot out of any fighter. He’ll be packed with energy like Pacquiao was when he first made the leap from 135 to 147. Oscar was available at that weight, so it was a great business move.
Obviously, if he crushes Paulie worse than Cotto, Hatton, or Khan were able to beat Paulie up, he’s a World Champion at 147 — and a logical matchup for a monster money matchup with Floyd.
Staying at 135 who does he fight? Guerrero also made the same jump.Posted June 15, 2013 3:06 pm
I hope Paulie BEAT HIS ASS, although he is funny “Im a welterweight anyway,I just lost some weight” ahahhahahaPosted June 15, 2013 12:50 pm
this fight will be a great entertainment I cannot wait hehehehehePosted June 15, 2013 12:48 pm
jab jab grab
Broner the ninja turtle lmaoPosted June 15, 2013 12:46 pm
fightin solves all
this guy broner makes me sick to my stomach, he truly sounds like a total moron. he is a legend in his own mind already. i pray that paulie puts a beating on him and embarrasses the heck out of him. i love this sport with all my heart and i def think we need good characters to make it fun, but hes just an idiot that thinks hes smart which is the biggest joke of allPosted June 15, 2013 11:40 am
I think Paulie really wants to make a statement against Broner. Otherwise he wouldn’t have taken the fight. Paulie’s no fool. He knows why Broner picked him to fight at welterweight. He knows Broner thinks he’s an easy mark. I expect Paulie to fight balls out and shooting a lot of power punches. This fight will get a lot of attention. And if Paulie beats Broner, Mayweather will surely be knocking on his door.Posted June 15, 2013 10:55 am
“Negative.” Oh I see, Adrien is in the military. The guy is a goof ball. Talented boxer, but a goof ball.Posted June 15, 2013 10:41 am
Broner sounds like an idiot in the interview. He also sounds like a Mayweather clone with his talking in third person, “If they want to fight Adrien Broner, then I’ll fight them.” The little monkey isn’t a superstar yet. He might also try getting his own identity.Posted June 15, 2013 10:39 am
Gotta see how Broner looks at 147, I certainly give him the edge but Paulie Malignaggi is NOT a punk he has been in the ring with some top fighters when they were in damn good form…Good test for BronerPosted June 15, 2013 10:30 am
Broner has been more protected than an endangered speices…Paulie will expose AB”s slow feet n boxin iq…the few times Broner has been in with some 1 with half a pulse hasent impressed(Quinteru,DeLeon) n 1st 2 rounds against Rees was being outboxed by a dwarf…Paulie puts on career performance and wins by a wide decision that will surprise alotta people, tho it shouldn’t…2yrs from now Broner will be a”never was”that Al Haymon handed 2 belts 2 himPosted June 15, 2013 9:27 am
LOL @ ‘broner has just won the mental game’. How??? He is a borderline retard. I’d genuinely be amazed if his IQ is over 75.
broner takes the blue ribbon for being the biggest POS in the sport of boxing… i would love to take a bat and smash his skull like a watermelon then take a piss on the what used to be his big mouth…. sorry mammi, but its closed casket fo shoPosted June 15, 2013 7:56 am
