Q…, “P4P is based on the best IF they were all the same size… based on who they think would win.”
NOPE!!!! That’s not the way it’s figured.. It’s based on who they believe has the most prestige at the moment… Nobody knows for if Mikey Garcia or Guillermo Rigondeax could beat Floyd Mayweather if they were the same weight. There is always someone who can beat you, based on styles or better skills. There’s an element of luck when 2 boxers are as closely matched.
The Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs played 7 games in less than 3 weeks—each game lasting longer than any boxing match. There were super close games. There were blow outs for each team. It’s not as if they weren’t trying hard in games they got clobbered—but at the end of 48 minutes one team was ahead—or the score was tied and they went to overtime.
Boxing is a one game series. There’s a better chance of a tie because of the 12 round format—versus the Heat and Spurs going 103-103 in one game, and a 25 point blowout in another game.
Whoever wins Floyd-Canelo will be considered #1 in the world—whether they’re the best or not. Writers who think Rigondeaux or Garcia are better boxers will concede they don’t have the prestige to be #1 and will vote for the winner of Floyd-Canelo. Antonio Tarver wasn’t considered #1 when he stretched Roy Jones—because he hadn’t beaten another big star.Posted June 22, 2013 10:43 pm

Q, I like what you did there. You insulted me again and then closed in unity,…classy. Stupid actually is when someone feels that all the comments posted on here are for them to stop in and give their 2 cents as they hurl insults,…That’s stupid. Stupid is also when you discredit what someone says about something like… Oh, I don’t know,.. Psychology. But then 1 sentence later: “but my point is from a psychological standpoint..”. Do you think before you type? Do you think everyone ASSumes but your word needs to be the final response to everyone because you have the answers to all? Hmmm… Sounds like you ASSume everyone would like so badly to have you address them personally. Man, thank you for personally addressing me with your BS responses that make you feel better, but no constructive sense or value. As a child did you find it hard to get people to listen? Is that why you are here forcing your opinions that you consider the final verdict in direct addresses to people? Seriously, I’ve seen your pathology and how you address everyone you’d like directly with what you feel is the pro’s insight. I doubt they care or find value in anything you direct at them just as I do not. You should apply this and grow as a person.Posted June 22, 2013 5:42 pm

Not surprising this thread has degenerated into a troll-fest, given that race baiting moron Supreme Clown showed up. He is the fool behind a half dozen of these screen names nobody’s seen before. Yet ESB lets him troll multiple handles even though they can easily identify him through his IP address. Have fun loser.Posted June 22, 2013 4:28 pm
Off topic but welterweight nonetheless. In case you guys didn’t hear: Former WBA welterweight champ James Page, arrested in #Oakland on June 10, faces 6 counts for bank robbery. Possible 20 years on each count because he already served prison time for bank robbery back in 2001.Posted June 22, 2013 4:23 pm

TARK: no no no no no no no no no. P4P is based on the best IF they were all the same size… based on who they think would win. The fact is that Canelo’s only shot is that FMJ is over his best weight and fighting a man who weighed in as a Super Middleweight in his last bout. Canelo can not and will not be considered P4P better than FMJ even with a win. That’s a fact. BUT… many Meskins will be very thrilled and giving praise to La Santa Muerte.Posted June 22, 2013 4:06 pm
The1: jajaj… you’re stupid, what’s a visual fact? You made an observation based on what you THINK a man feels based on his reactions to a situation you’d never seen him in? You don’t have anything to base your little “observations” on because you don’t know how he reacts normally. All this “psychology filed” is overrated dude.. Broner’s reactions can be based in various things outside of what you’ve ASSumed. “Broner was most certainly inclined to be verbal” I never said otherwise, but my point is, from a psychological standpoint, that Broner could very well have been reacting badly as you stated, based on childhood experiences with verbal battles… he can be how he is out of a defense mechanism, and he could be a bit more sensitive than you understand. That doesn’t mean that his reaction is exactly tied into his actually fight with Malignaggi. And NO I’m really actually not a “fan” of Broner. I don’t think he’s any Mayweather because he doesn’t have the same skill set and footwork.. but he IS stronger. ANyway… yeah. Let’s enjoy the bout.Posted June 22, 2013 4:03 pm
I’d give GOAT at this point to FMJ or Calzaghe.Posted June 22, 2013 3:01 pm

Floyd is known as the best boxer in the world… That takes in every division as far as I know… Canelo could take him out and change all that… Maybe Broner will go after Canelo if that happens — can’t let anyone beat up his big brother.Posted June 22, 2013 2:44 pm

Q, let me be clear and sure that I understand what you were saying. You not understanding a mental edge makes ME stupid? I was pointing out visual observations from education in the psychology field. This was not an opinion (but visual fact)and I’m sorry that you misunderstood and took it as such. Also, Broner was most certainly inclined to be verbal; let’s not distort the truth! His guys told him where Paulie was and he went to it and started the interactions. You see Mr. Q, the difference between yourself and I are that one of us were being unbiased and pointing out observations while the other(yourself) very clearly felt need to “defend” Broner. However, I don’t mean to be Captain Obvious about your stances as you clearly have in about every other post in the thread. If you are a Broner fan, fine, but not everyone else has to be. In fact, I know it’s hard to understand but some may not be fans of either and just want to see a decent fight.Posted June 22, 2013 12:37 pm

Broner is ok. He is not that good. Its easy to look good pumbling a lesser skilled fighter standing in front of you. Definitely not on mayweathers level. Clearly there is a reason why haymon has not matched him with another top guy. If ponce and quintero who had 4 days notice of the fight in my opinion beat broner, how could he be looked at like an elite fighter. Paulie is ok but lacks the power to jewel broner off of him. This is a 50/50 fight. I think broners power is ok but not Garcia. Probably a decision either way. Just hoping Paulie gets the nod. Would be good for boxingPosted June 22, 2013 9:44 am

This better be fantastic boxing….Because I find Malignaggis personality extremely annoying and I don’t think that much more of Broner….
For me this is classic Villain vs Villain….But only one of them has something in the gloves…So it seems like a pretty predictable fight….Malignaggis going down mid-late rounds…So i’m kinda on the fence about seeing the fight….Because you would have to be a fan to get something out of it….Malignaggis fans will pray for his chin and Broners will cheer for the K.O….Posted June 22, 2013 4:41 am

Just noticed Banks looks soft but his weight is 216. WTF? I figure that’s a bad sign and Mitchell wins the rematch. As for Bronerk, whatev. I don’t think Paulie is nervous at all, that’s just his personality type, hyper, fast talker. A lot of that comes from being from New York City.Posted June 22, 2013 3:05 am
Seth Mitchell looks fat, there’s a lot of muscle there for sure, maybe a little too much but he sure as hell ain’t ripped.
Jonathan Banks though on the other hand makes Seth looked trim and fit!! For a 216lb heavyweight Banks body/muscle tone looks TERRIBLE.Posted June 22, 2013 3:03 am
CJ: Dude, the HW division is mega trash. You list Lennox and Bowe, but they fought in the SAME ERA…. there was even Golotas and people like that… there isn’t even that now… the division is completely dead-d. It has nothing to do with HW or not HW. The HW division is completely unwatchable, no matter who is fighting. Period. It’s dead. Goodnight.Posted June 22, 2013 2:47 am
Any of you people who say the HW division is dead are pure American wishing of the good old days(80′s and 90″s and early 2000′s). For REAL! There have only been 4 huge men who could move extremely well at 6’5 and up. Bowe, Lennox and the Klits. Thats it. And don’t say Fury. Not even close. Even Tyson stated these men are too good with being too big. Tyson was awesome like Tua but folks they were fighting monsters at their frame. Your retarded too say the old school HW’s could hang other than Foreman(massive heavy hands and Ali who moved like Roy Jones at 215). Nobody will know cause it will never happen. BUT Look at the all lame ass opponents from Ali to Tyson they faced. PleasePosted June 22, 2013 2:43 am
You’re telling me there are still fighters like*Posted June 22, 2013 2:35 am
Ok ok, in your world the HW division is thriving and better than ever, and any division Floyd has every fought at is dead…… you’re a clown, jajaj… Floyd beat the undisputed and the guy that beat the undisputed at 147 a long time ago. As it stands, for Floyd to get “ALL the strapses” as you put it, as it stands he’d have to *GASP* beat Bradley, Devon Alexander and Malignaggi. jajaja. Go to sleep man.Posted June 22, 2013 2:28 am
The Heavyweights are exploding.
The Bantams are fading. The Lightweights are a bore.
Judging by all interaction I’ve seen between the two. It appears that Paulie Malinaggi’s body language is very relaxed while Broner at certain times seemed to be uneasy, stressed and rigid with almost pacing and repetitive movements. This all ties in to what the psychology field calls “numbing” or dissociating. In other words, Broner appeared to subconsciously find a way to ease his elevated levels of stress. I think Paulie has effectively gotten into Broner’s head. Not sure how or if it will sway the fight either way but considering that Broner has moved up two classes and is fighting the toughest fight to date against a very seasoned, experienced, successful boxer….. I’d say Paulie gos into this fight with an enormous mental edge, what he does with his edge; we will only know after the opening bell.Posted June 22, 2013 1:23 am
