Botha must be broke or bored to still
be risking his health in the Ring.

The scores of 100-96 and 99-92 are totally misleading. Pianeta was definitlely not dominating the fight. I enjoyed watching the fight, Botha showing what an experienced vetreran can do! Maybe Pianeta has a longer reach, younger reflexes, better training – despite of that Botha was never in danger, managed to hit him often, look at his face after the bout.

In my opinion, it only shows that Botha sees a fantastic business opportunity when he sees one. SBW against Botha will go PPV in New Zealand and will be followed closely around the world. Botha should win handsomely, and then maybe retire with a final, nice feather under his cap,

I watched the fight in Mülheim on Friday night – I think 97-93 was fair. Botha in his prime would have given Pianeta an almight lesson, in fact – the Botha that fought Grant would have as well.

Botha looked like a tub of lard and has been KOed repeatedly in recent years. Pianetta evidently can’t punch out of a wet paper bag if he’s gotta go 10 rounds.

It appears that Botha will be taking on Sonnybill Williams in (November?). Which only shows how low a level Botha is nowat and further that a points win, wide or not, shows us nothing at all about Pianeta.

I’d like to see Wilder vs Pianeta as well. Usually Pianeta is quite a bit more explosive then this. Though Botha is known for having a decent, but not great chin.

How does an undefeated fighter have a record of 27-1-1?

Price vs Botha for the Commonwealth title could still generate money if staged in South Africa.

Pianetta’s promoter doesn’t have the money to entice a big name to fight in Germany. That’s why Pianetta gets the aging “B” level fighters and the “C” level dudes: because they’re affordable. I wasn’t impressed with Pianetta’s performance against the very sub-par, overweight, and undertrained Oliver McCall. Truth be told, even the 2010 version of McCall (20 to 30 lbs lighter, and at least halfway trained) would have been too much for Pianetta. My hunch is that Francesco will never make it as far as the Klitschko hit-list. More likely, he’ll get knocked off by a tough “B” level fighter who is underestimated (a la Airich’s KO over Pala, Bakhtov’s wipe out of Kretschman, or Ibragimov’s destruction of Timmo Hoffman in 2007).

This is sad.Pianeta should fight Walker theres no shortage of good fights between guys at this level. Its just that everybody is afraid of being knocked out of the picture. To much bussiness not enough sportsman like behaviour.
