Although I dont like seeing people challenge fighters who are at a much lower weight class but i would pay to see this at 147. Broner has talent lots of it but he has bypassed world champs after talking crap talks of being the light weight king although there are a few fights that could be made with one of the champs at light weight. Broner doesnt make weight often or takes and age to get to it so he could easily fight at 147. it would be good to see a Broner fight where he plays by the same rules him and Rios get special treatment

Broner HASN’T fought past 135, MY ASS he CHEATED and OUTWEIGHT a 130 pounds Escobedo by THREE Divisions weighing 147+ .besides he wants to fight a more dangerous 147 pounds Pedquioa why not start with Guerrero at 147.

Posted September 9, 2012 1:30 am

brawer

i think broner can make 147 easily, remember what happened in his last fight.and if robert has no power at welter weight why is he afraid to fight him.

Fighter

Boooooo. Come on man, are we so soon to forget, “The Problem” came in his last fight overweight at 147Lbs…what are talking about Mr. Smith. You sound a little pro Broner…lol. The Ghost started his career out at Jr Feather so hes not a natural 147 pounder. He “The Ghost” has slashed through opponents with slick boxing…slick southpaw boxing.. He got no real offers at Feather or Lightweight so he went where the pool is too deep not to get a good fight..147 baby…so to me He is the real “Problem”. Broner is coming to 140 or 147 anyway and he will do well at both I think. Look at it like this Mr. Smith…Robert was just encouraging the youngster to play with the big kids because they’re eager to play with him. All in all this would be a good money maker, crowd seller typr fight, with a win for each fighter they’re careers would skyrocket.

LOL @toriano. If boxing was a hobby you would know that ANY pro would knock your ass out. Another keyboard warrior. Good job bro.

Fight Aficionado

Guerrero is a jr lightweight who stacked on dead weight in pursuit of money fights. Remember he held a title down there not long ago. He and Broner are pretty much the same size regardless of height.

FEARS

I would love to see Broner whip the crap out of The Ghost, but the fight should be at 140. Broner has yet to fight at 135, and The Ghost is not a WW as he looked very soft and flabby at 147. I never understood why he moved to 147 anyway, or why he thinks he deserves so much for the little he has accomplished thus far. Either meet Broner at 140, or fight a real Welter like Berto and get the Hell knocked out of you, but calm down in the meantime!

destruction-destroy

he’s a blown up super-feather who thinks that if he talks real loud that people will think he deserves to be the greatest.

StudentOfTheGame

I find it funny how Whining punks make excuses on how guerrero is bigger.Last time I checked Guerrero moved up two divisions & fought a dangerous opponent in his first fight while broner, bum bum rios,jr, among others are still fighting midgets for paper championships. That said Guerrero isn’t that much bigger than broner so stop the bs.2faced Fake fans just like their fake idols.

Ricky Burns beats both these chumps any day of the week. Mon the Rickster!

1-2

Not sure when this happened cause I was at the weigh in and saw both of them. Kind of surprised Broner was there and he didnt get the standing ovation he might have thought when he got up to the stage. Either way Two different weight classes and 47 has a lot of fighters for the Ghost to call out. Nice event though Oakland did good for Ward and vice versa

Public go watch Zab and Corley slap Floyd around then go watch Cotto and ODH stick the jab in Floyds face then finish with Dawson over Bhop. Then truth wont sound so stupid to u.

LikeISeeIt

This would be a good fight… Guerrero just moved up to 147 from 135 himself. Broner has enough height to handle the weight and probably wouldn’t have to stop eating Twinkies.

Posted September 8, 2012 4:22 pm

The Kingslayer

Wow what a brave man Guerrero is challenging a guy three divisions below him.

Posted September 8, 2012 4:01 pm

TARK

Comparing Adrien Broner to Andre Berto doesn’t fly… Berto is fairly easy to hit because his stance is flawed and sloppy. He is far from cool, crafty, and skilled at setting up his offense. Broner maintains a strong solid stance, doesn’t catch big shots, and can walk you down with the best of them… Robert Geurrero would have to pick it up massively from his last fight to compete with Broner—because that’s the worst I’ve seen Robert fight … But it would be a tremendous money fight and everyone would love to see it.

srminimo

Guerrero is the biggest media whore in Boxing this side of the pond. Have some respect for the guys that are actually fighting and get out of the way. And the writer is absolutely correct, Berto would have his way with Guerrero.

THREE divisions? Guerrero why don’t you fight Golovkin then?

Posted September 8, 2012 3:14 pm

The Mad Scientist

All of a sudden Guerrero is picking on smaller guys, how is that..?, the Ghost won a title at 126 and he’s just one fight removed from being a lightweight..I wonder what the fanboys/apologist will say next, that Robert Guerrero hasn’t earn a shot at Broner, that he needs to fight this guy or that guy first..Lol!

Posted September 8, 2012 3:10 pm

The Mad Scientist

Broner is the one opening his mouth saying that he can beat this guy and that guy at any weight as high as 147 so why not accept Guerrero’s challenge..not only will Broner make his biggest pay day to date but he’ll shut the Ghost up and stick it to the haters..my guess is the Problem will wait on the Molina/DeMarco winner, most likely beat either one of them and continue flapping his gums claiming no one is on his level except for Mayweather..zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Posted September 8, 2012 3:03 pm

Shadow Boxer

Wow Guerrero is picking on guys smaller than him! Not a good look!

Posted September 8, 2012 3:01 pm

Big Al

Boy, is Guerrero desperate or what? Seems like he wants to cash out his career in the worst way. Something’s up with this guy.

Posted September 8, 2012 2:26 pm

the public

“southpaw is the answer to the orthodox phillyshell” that might be the stupidest comment i have read today. Guerrero is doing his best Pacquiao impression and keep his name with the STAR of the sport. Like the moxy from Guerrero but we will have to wait and see.

Posted September 8, 2012 2:18 pm

REM

Very poor account of himself by the author and all the post below me r dead on couldn’t say it better myself. Broners got the goods and a bright future but he’s making a mistake taking Guerreros bait. Its no secret to knowledgeable boxing people that a southpaw is the answer to the orthodox phillyshell. Not that Guerreros the greatest but Broner needs to learn how to handle a lower level southpaw before taking on someone of Guerreros pedigree. And like Best said Berto is a poor choice for the authors point because Callozo someone similar to Guerrero in style, strength and skill unofficially beat Berto and Ortiz who fights out of the southpaw stance thoroughly beat Berto.

‘took’ isn’t a word?!?
Errrr, yes it is.
Its the past tense of ‘take’(verb).
If you’re going to try being so clever/obnoxious at least be right

Also If Guerrero wants it so much why not offer to meet him halfway at 140?
Don’t let your dislike of Broner cloud your judgement on what’s fair.
Guerrero is spouting off using Broners name to create a bit of publicity for himself…

da ugly truth

Not a big fan of guerrero but at 147 he would give broner problems… He’s another andre berto in the making…he’s to muscular to be able to hang 12 rds… Dats why someone as slow as ponce de Leon gave him problems…

The word “gullible” isn’t in the dictionary either.

yo guerrero needs to sit down hes no good he already got beat up tell him to go have a seat hes not even on my map ill beat him my self n boxing is just my hobby

Fight Aficionado

Is this writer biased much? Broner was a full blown welterweight in his last bout and just because he says he’s going at 135 doesn’t mean he intends on fighting at that weight. Guerrero’s confrontation of Bonehead got a lot of buzz at the weigh in. BTW his brother is on the undercard off-TV.

who’s robert guerrero?
never heard of him.

Posted September 8, 2012 1:26 pm

The Best!

This writer is a moron. Styles make fights and a south paw like de leon schooled Broner and was robbed of a decision. The Ghost is a little bit over rated to me but still is a south paw with a lot of heart which would give Broner huge problems regardless of the weight they meet at. As for Berto he is another good fighter and thats it, he aslo fought a south paw, in Collazo and also got schooled by Collazo who was also robbed of a decision. So before you write something say the truth and dont just write BS because you and Broner are probably buddies.

psy

1 – ‘took’ is not a word. google it.
2 – not making eye contact is a sign of fear. google it.
3 – broner is not a featherweight if he is unable to make 130. his last fight made it clear that is the case. so he would be going up 2 divisions, to fight a guy who has done nothing at 147lbs.
4 – it’s pretty amusing to see the obnoxious little fruit squirm.

Posted September 8, 2012 1:19 pm

M. Mendoza

One Hitter: Thoroughly agree. Guerrero should fight 147 boxers to see what’s comes out of that. By that time, Broner may very well be at 147. Too much mockery of the weight divisions going on. Catchweights are way over-done now.
