Rod – Well put. Not making excuses, but Price got caught with a shot behind the ear that basically screwed up his balance. That having been said, I think that Price will either take Thompson out fairly early (as he should have done the first time) or win a boring decision (a la Mitchell/Banks).Posted June 28, 2013 11:43 am

Many times a one punch upset KO is a fluke … but sometimes it’s a matter of styles..
Frazier didn’t have a shot in Hell of beating Foreman.. The unique way a particular boxer thows his best power punch can find that small hole in your defense that the best boxer can’t duplicate.. Closing the hole isn’t that easy because you’ve already been developing your defensive skills as best you can for maybe 10 years or more as an amateur and pro.
Wladimir could have gone right back with Sanders — but he called Manny Steward. WK sensed there was something deeper going on that would take some time to fix.. He was right.. His big brother took care of Sanders.
Duran was asked if he wanted a rematch with Hearns… He said, “Hearns can probably fight me better than he can fight anyone else … so that’s your answer.”Posted June 28, 2013 9:28 am
Has anyone seen Brinson vs Melendez fight ????? I just saw the fight in showtime on demand ….
price should of. he better. price loses again. we get to watch re-runs of thompson-wlad again.Posted June 28, 2013 3:37 am
Price just tried to rush it the first time around. His jab was out there, doing nothing to help him offensively or defensively. When he started to unload combos his hands were down on several occasions. He did not respect Thompson and got caught with a punch behind the ear. This time he will have a stiff powerful jab, a high guard, take his time and fight a text book fight. He will KO Thompson round 5- 7 and silence the critiques.b Price never got hit on the jaw. He will winPosted June 28, 2013 1:47 am
I SERIOUSLY doubt Price will beat Thompson in the rematch. Price’s jaw has proven to be glass and Thompson is a better boxer than Price. All Thompson needs to do is just smartly press the action like he did last time, be in much better condition, and Price will be CRUSHED!!Posted June 28, 2013 1:46 am

I can’t remember a trainer ever mentioning the opponent would win… Lennox needs to sell his service just like we need to work to get by. Met Lennox in Nashville, very humble, great ATG, just a different era from the bigger names.Posted June 28, 2013 12:55 am
I was trying to post youtube link of the fight Thompson vs Harris
Mongrel …lol that’s funny ….however “if’s “are wise versa and you are right in haveyweight devision one good uppercut at a right angle would make everybody change their accent..lol

Is that when you make you huge wagers too douche-nozzle?Posted June 27, 2013 10:58 pm
Prices main problem is that is he 16ft tall, but also afraid of heights, which freezes him up at times.
I think`ll he`ll put Thompson out in nasty style though, quivering like an eplieptic mackeral and not remembering his name or nationality when he wakes up. In fact, if Price lands his uppercut at just the right angle, Thompson might wake up with a French accent convinced his name is Marcel.
Even Lennox would be impressed by that.Posted June 27, 2013 10:24 pm
The second Lewis McCall fight was one of the strangest and saddest things I’ve seen. That man was a mess and he had no business in the ring.Posted June 27, 2013 10:12 pm
I’ll be happy if anyone gives the K bros an actual challenge.Posted June 27, 2013 10:11 pm

“safe boring affair,” bs, it was fixed, its the only way mitchell can win.Posted June 27, 2013 6:08 pm
bugged is your typical angry, nationalistic brit that thinks anyone that makes negative comments about his beloved brit fighters “must be a yank.”Posted June 27, 2013 6:06 pm

And I’m picking ATG Lennox Lewis to beat David Price. If only he wanted to fight him.Posted June 27, 2013 5:24 pm
“McCall was taken out of rehab and dumped in the ring. It was a non-fight that deserved an investigation.” – Investigation would find what we already know: McCall hardly trained, was getting weaned off his addiction to drugs, and Don King used him to cash out. It was a big payday and King wanted his 20%, knowing McCall would lose in his last significant payday.Posted June 27, 2013 5:07 pm
If Price wins, I fancy it will be a safe, boring affair like Mitchell over Banks II.Posted June 27, 2013 4:57 pm
If price is patient and careful against Thompson he will get a decision because of his youth and hight but Thompson as a lefty it is going to be very hard for price to survive the 12 rounds especially against Someone like thompson who ko him in his last fight.if price wins this he will go far because Thompson for tall boxers like price with his experience is very hard to beat !
Price should be very careful from Thompson very underrated right hook on top , he should try always go around Thompson right side to neutralize his right hook and make it posible for him to throw straight right and always keep the distance !Posted June 27, 2013 4:49 pm

STFU Tard, you have no idea what went on between Lennox and Haye. You sure make up a bunch of shiat…Posted June 27, 2013 4:31 pm
So I wonder if Lewis could really ever have beaten McCall?Posted June 27, 2013 3:55 pm
Ruff knight you are spot on. I watched that second Mccall/Lewis fight and a mate of mine who works as a phsychiatric nurse walked out of the room shaking his head. Only in America could they do this and put a mentally sick man in the ring. Shameful.Posted June 27, 2013 3:45 pm
Erlangdon is right and we never saw McCall do that at any other time or any other fighter do that. McCall was taken out of rehab and dumped in the ring.
Lewis was one of the best and the brightest heavy weights of all times. We have to consider his comments.Posted June 27, 2013 3:15 pm
Tark: Ollie McCall was a schizophrenic crackhead that should have been in rehab at the time of the 2nd Lewis match. Had he come into that fight in the same phyisical & mental condition as the 1st, the result could easily been the same. Ollie could really crack and Lewis’ beard was clearly not of the granite persuasion. I think L.L. may have been mighty fortunate that the pathetic shell of the fighter he was facing in the rematch was a far cry from the guy he had to deal with in the 1st fight.Posted June 27, 2013 2:44 pm
If he doesn’t win over Thompson this time then he is done as a contender and will be back fighting bouncers. And we won’t here from the sycophants any more.Posted June 27, 2013 1:58 pm
McCall??? He was crying his ass off last time he had to fight LL…WHAAAAA!!!!
It’s a very good move by Price to hire Lewis… LL had a lot of years with Steward and learned many things outside that Steward bubble before he ever turned to Steward, who beefed him up, “You’re a heavyweight. You’re amazingly tall and you can put on about 20 pounds of raw muscle without any problem and manhandle these guys.” LL probably knows more about the jab than any heavweight alive except the K Bros.
LL worked with David Haye too, but Haye’s such a natural athlete and thinker that he tends to get ahead of you and there’s a clash of ideas—like some of the 5-hour discussions “Manny” and “Ladimir” used to have… Lewis doesn’t have that type of patience and Price is more malleable than Haye. It’s a better fit because Price is such a good listener. Which LL likes.Posted June 27, 2013 1:50 pm
Of course Lewis predicts Price will win since he’s helping train him. That said, I also predict Price wins the rematch.Posted June 27, 2013 1:47 pm
