Had Rees winning but it was close. Agree with others sentiments that a rematch would be the right thing here.
Tbh a lot of people have had a guts full of sky. They hardly give any matches except for Froch very few top level shows. When Froch fights you have to pay a crazy ppv same as they use to do with the joke David Haye fights.
Boxnation – a £10 a month, a channel completely dedicated to boxing, with lots of qaulity match up’s e.g. Mayweather Canelo is on there.
Not a fan of fish eyes but I’ll give him his dues and I’ll be suscribing to Boxnation myself soon.
Sky better up its game big time, u talk to boxing fans anywhere in the UK and there’s a lot of disgruntled people.Posted June 30, 2013 3:25 pm
The commentators were diabolical. I switched the volume off after round 5 and started to see the fight very differently. Hear sees Rees as utterly dispensable. Burns v Crolla ? No way. This warrants a rematch. And if Rees pulls his finger out next time it won’t go 12. Ain’t gonna happen tho.Posted June 30, 2013 11:45 am
Don’t think Rees got jobbed – think Crolla landed the quality shots and looked in control pretty much throughout. Crolla will do well to get to halfway vs Burns – too big, too strong and too good.Posted June 30, 2013 7:48 am
Mick, your not a fan of Ricky burns then lol. Can u imagine anyone else in the UK coming through that 7th round against Gonzalez?Posted June 30, 2013 6:47 am
Like most I had ‘the rock’ winning. A rematch is deserved.Posted June 30, 2013 6:21 am
I hope Crolla does get a shot at Rickster, just so I can see Ricky dishing him out a SEVERE pasting, which he will Anthony.Posted June 30, 2013 5:30 am
Mick the Marmalizer
Confusion rules in the UK @ 135Lb. I could never understand why Rees relinquished the British & EBU titles & the current British champion Martin Gethin is just a gate keeper. Terry Flannigan is the future of the British lightweight division & deserves a crack at the title ASAP. Ricky Burns will be exposed as just another Frank Warren WBO stay at home titlist as soon as he steps out of his comfort zone & John Murray & Kevin Mitchell are also on the way out. “You heard it here 1st Terry Flannigan is the future #1″!Posted June 30, 2013 2:33 am
Rees won that i have to agree, although I do like Crolla who’s comes across as very nice and genuine lad. Fair is fair though and Rees won. Have to agree about Sky it’s gotten awful there now, to the point where i just mute the commentary to avoid them trying to convince me who’s winning to fit with their agenda.Posted June 30, 2013 2:27 am
I agree with everything you’ve put. The commentary was disgraceful, Smith, Mccrory and Murray should hang there heads in shame.Posted June 29, 2013 10:25 pm
I wanted Crolla to win also but I didn’t think he did…. I was sat there like most people thinking what the hell are these sky commentators talking about as they seemed to have made up their mind that crolla was going to win no matter what!
It would be really interesting to see the punch stats which for some reason (the first in a long time sky didn’t seem to put them up) from what I was seeing crolla was being outlanded by an absolute mile especially from rounds 1-7 I think
I’m glad crolla won as I met him at the roy jones night a few years ago in Nottingham and hes a really nice guy and couldn’t have been more fan friendly to everyone…. good luck to him in the future as he is a good boxer but I honestly am not sure he did enough to win that fight tonight…..

Broner is fighting his ego I think. Or maybe it was his hair brush?Posted June 29, 2013 9:22 pm
Adam Smith is a tawt 365 days a year. When Froch beat Bute he would have happily have sucked the Cobra off. Lets not mnake out Sky are any better than HBO when it comes to who they want to win.Posted June 29, 2013 9:02 pm
Burns v Broner
Who is Broner fighting next.Posted June 29, 2013 8:28 pm
Burns has just beaten his mandatory challenger, it was gonzalez. But anyway, it is obvious crolla does not deserve to fight for a world title. Putting him in with ricky would be a mismatch of vvarren-esque proportions.
Burns is facing Raymundo Beltran in September in an optional defense. If Burns turns around and fights Crolla after that, which is what Eddie Hearn wants, that will make TWO consecutive optional title defenses.Posted June 29, 2013 8:17 pm
Burns v Broner
A good learning fight for both of them, before they fight the best.Posted June 29, 2013 8:07 pm
Burns v Broner
Burns would walk through Broners punches, that would be a good scrap.Posted June 29, 2013 8:06 pm
Indeed. Gavin rees got a little jibbedPosted June 29, 2013 8:06 pm
Ricky burns will walk clean through Crolla, seen worse decision than this but tonight was definitely a homer.Posted June 29, 2013 8:03 pm
Usually like Adam smith, but tonight’s one sided bias comentery toward crolla was a joke,he sounded like one of the hbo comentators who only see the home town fighter land a punch wonder who’s on ringside next week the Manchester mob I wonder??Posted June 29, 2013 7:53 pm
