Bellew needs to drop the bomber tag as he is def not a bomber, i thought he looked very limited against a shot fighter. Bellew has no chance with the top guys;- Cloud, pascal,dawson, maybe now Ward or not. he will and should stick with very low level opposition like Clevery is doing with Warren, thats the british way..

Bellew is not overhyped he is a decent fighter who is down to earth and knows his limits. He just wants to put food on the table and you have to respect a man for that. He isn’t full of bs like a lot of idiot wanabe fighters today. I wish him all the best of luck

Cosign that – I’m a Brit and just like the Bomber said after the fight, there needs to be more ‘bridging fights’ for UK fighters, rather than the route that takes then from British, Commonwealth and Euro strap, straight to the deep waters of a World Title fight. This is mostly a Frank Warren invention and I believe Eddie Hearn @ Matchroom is at last starting to show his stable the right kind of match-ups so that if/when they win a title, they can defend it.

The problem with British fighters is that they get overhyped and talked about as if they have conquered the division. Bellew is a work in progress, nothing more.

I don’t agree, a fight with Chad Dawson would be very good for Bellew. He has the power and the size that would put Dawson on his heels. Other than Dawson’s boxing skills (which lets be honest isn’t really that good) . What the hell does he have that will be too much for Bellew? He has little pop in his punches, he doesn’t throw enough which you can get away with against 40 year olds like Glen Johnson and Bernard Hopkins not so much against younger agressive fighters, and his size and length will be a non factor against the much taller and longer Bellew.

I don’t want to see a rematch between Bellew and Cleverly so soon. Not when their are other top ranked fighters in the division they haven’t fought yet.

If he wants a re-match with Cleverly then he needs to fight & beat Beibut Shumenov in LA fot the WBA title thus bringing a unification to the table. He’ll never win a Lonsdale belt @ 175LB as there’s simply no competition in the UK. Maybe an EBU challenge could happen. If he’d kept the Commonwealth title then a fight with Stephenson or Sherrington could be interesting!
