AssyrianGod…., “Being technically more proficient does not necessarily equate to winning.”

Howard Davis was fast and stylish looking… But not so technically proficient. If he worked harder at his craft for a more sustained period of time he would have been. If some of his efforts he got tagged up a ton, so he was no genius like some made him out to be.

Some people say Wilfred Benitez was a master… He wasn’t… He was pretty to watch—but if you had great feinting skills, a great jab and a great straight right, he was toast … because he tried to slip everything. You messed up his radar when you cracked him straight away with deceptive, sizzling straight shots. Leonard was really the first guy he fought who had complete finished skills … or most of them.

HOWARD DAVIS JNR was the stand out boxer at the Olympics and was the first boxer I heard of at the time I got into the sport (start of the 80’s) to be a practising vegetarian.

Whislt a gifted boxer he could be taken out of his stride and roughed up by boxers of arguably lesser talent…

However, i would wager a big load that he would have been a champion if he’d been around today in the Lightweight division.

Scott beat a hell of a fighter for that draw… Glazkov was undefeated and stopped Tor Hamer early.. the guy who beat Kevin Johnson in Prize Fighter.

I’ve seen Scott go 10 rounds about a year ago on tv. He has the tools but is too afraid to use them. He’s always backing up and can’t fight a mover. Scott then whined about a draw that he didn’t deserve against a no-name. Del Boy
eats Malik up before 8.

Or maybe his other chance is that he’s a much better boxer???

Stuck is still moaning about boxing not being popular in the USA.

….. “Chisora needs to learn respect for his opponents. You can’t have it both ways.”

Completely different issue guy… Chisora beat Helenius PERIOD.

Posted July 11, 2013 6:19 pm

FEARS

Malik Scott should easily beat the totally flawed Chisora.

Posted July 11, 2013 5:57 pm

Gerry McGuinness

Tark, like I said, while Chisora didn’t deserve to lose to Helenius…he did. Facts. Chisora performed better than Helenius though, yes. And Chisora was ’20 pounds overweight and had a painful hernia’ when he lost to Fury, you say? Well, that wasn’t Tyson’s fault. Chisora got in the ring, fought and lost. Chisora needs to learn respect for his opponents. You can’t have it both ways.

TARK

He didn’t lose…. Screw the judges.

You either performed better than your opponent or you didn’t. A gift decision doesn’t make you better.

Gerry McGuinness

Chisora didn’t deserve to lose to Helenius, but he lost…because the judges said so. So Chisora lost to Fury, Helenius and Vitali. And Haye.

TARK

Chisora beat Helenious 10 rounds to 2… He lost lopsidedly to Vitali but was never expected to finish … which he did easily.. He was 20 pounds overweight for Fury and suffering from a painful hernia.. He grabbed the money rather than ask for a medical postponement — which was smart.. You tend to get tons of offers when you show how beatable you are.

The offers just keep coming for Chisora.

Malik…, “This guy’s a sitting duck.”

‘Chisora does well against the tall super-heavyweights’….he lost to Fury, Helenius and Vitali, so yeah, great analysis, lol!

The last brit fighter who trained with the troups for mike tyson got finished in 2 rounds. scott will never win a world title, but he may be too good for Chisoro.

Who cares? They are both irrelevant.

stuck in a moment

In America being 35-0 means nothing if you have resume.

” one of the biggest hallenges of his career ” lol that’s so funny. Don’t tell me this will get treated as some big win over an American heavy. Scott is garbage. Always has been

stuck in a moment

I hope all you euros don’t think Malik Scott is some popular unbeaten heavyweight in America. He’s a club fighter. I don’t even know of he’s ever been on tv

Chisora will blow Scott out, KTFO in 6 …

Posted July 11, 2013 1:10 pm

Neil (Pomy)

I think Scott has been around too long, done nothing and fought no one of note. I think Chisora takes this on points. We will see.

Hahaha, Chisora it’s a British joke. Well British people don’t have any more fighters to get exited for. It’s understandable.

Malic Scott, the lost heavyweight tallent. Defeating former world heavyweight title challanger Dereck Chisora will be his first top test in his career but that is far from enough. IF Scott wan’ts to get some kind of recognition and get a world title fight he must fight and defeat more top opponents and he is not getting younger so he will need to be buissy. I belive Chisora is to much to handle for Scott

Scott isnt a “Tall super heavyweight”. Hes 6’3 and weighs around 225-230.

Posted July 11, 2013 11:31 am

huckster

malik wins by decision, but does not solve the HW equation. malik is awkward fight for chisora. malik has a busy left, fast hands, moves in and out, and ties up well. malik was an awkward fight for glazkov. glazkov got a gift of a draw. he knew it.

MARK IV

Yeah Malik got on after his last fight and said it was “ludicrous” that he hasn’t been given a shot at the world title yet, being how he’s undefeated. Well if he beats Chisora he’ll still have to whine for a while.

Chisora needs this win ….. and he does well against the tall super-heavyweights. Chisora on points

Chisora looks lean. He is in shape

I REALLY WANT DELBOY TO BEAT MALIK….

I remember seeing Scott wrestling (not boxing) some boxer last time out or the time befor, using his long spidery arms and frame to get out the way of his opponent.

He had bragged before about how great he was, but IMHO on that performance he has no punch power and is neither sound, defensively…

At one point he tried to pretend he was in control by brushing imaginary dirt off his shoulder with his glove ala JAY-Z’s famous tune, but in reality i believe a guy who can put educated pressure on him and bang his ribs will stop him over the distance.

I’ve watched Malik a couple of times and he has bored me to tears.

I may be missing something, but ususall with boxers I see something I can grab hold of in their style, but this guy seems to wan to hot dog, but he had nothing behind him.

If DELBOY is up for it like he was VITALI, he will blow Malik away anytime after 8 rounds, if not and the DELBOY who fought TYSON FURY shows up and he’ll be hot-dogged out of it.

Hopefully DELBOY will bash him up!
