with almost 8% unemployment and GDP at below 2%, I wouldn’t say that Obama/Biden are doing a very good job. It’s amateur hour. As Harvard’s Michael Porter and Niall Ferguson have said, America’s competitiveness has declined during Obama/Biden due to a rise in taxes and an onerous regulatory situation.

The major skill is keeping a straight face as you ask them to sign. The only time Don King wasn’t smiling was when he asked you to sign an agreement…, “I don’t think I’ve ever offered anybody such an advantageous contract, but we all have our weak moments. Interesting that Mayweather is learning from the fighter tha actually created that non-sense, even so Mayweather is a victim of it when he sign with Oscar Del la hoya. We see that he had to sign with Golden Boy promotions before Oscar gave him a fight and we also see that Shane Mosley and Benard Hopkins sign with Golden Boy promotions after fighting Oscar. But in the meanwhile, by this boxing greats signing with Golden Boy have made Oscar a millions over and over again, not the other way around as they think. It has always been funny, Oscar fought those guys and now they work for him, and it is contributed to Oscar credit for fighting them, but he lost to everyone. Facing a guy that has your number 4 TIMES takes a lot of courage. Albeit his victories are somewhat controversial, the fact that you step into a ring knowing you may get KTFO as your style is perfect for his proves you just do not have a pair of balls, but maybe four balls lol.
Not a Mayweather hater but should you have fought a guy who you can beat easily? Why all those PED allegations and now this condition?

SMART move by Floyd. Don’t allow Arum to profit off of breaking UP the Fight when it was first proposed and negotiated. Let him WISH he could make the Fight now.Posted July 19, 2013 10:08 pm
I think the ring will be a decent size. Floyd doesn’t really fight in the small ones.Posted July 19, 2013 9:57 pm
Hmm, that sounds plausible. Garcia will certainly not be a stationary target for Lucas. He will maje full use of the ring. Im curious to see what the ring size will be. However Lucas does have underrated handspeed and he is good at placing his power shots in the sweet spot. Waiting for the other guy to make a mistake. I don’t see Garcia though he has pop on his punches being able to hold this guy off of him for long. His face said a lot of things to me the night Peterson was wiped out. Middle rou.d stoppage is about right.Posted July 19, 2013 9:54 pm
He has,Lucas does,at the very least the all important mental edge.Posted July 19, 2013 9:49 pm
I’m taking Lucas by middle round stoppage. But both fighters will take some lumps in this one. I think it will be good while it last. But I must say I thought Peterson would win a decision and Lucas just destroyed him. But I’m sticking with my pick. Middle round KO Lucas winsPosted July 19, 2013 9:49 pm
Peej, appreciate your viewpoints my friend, however I will respectfully disagree. However changing the the theme, give me your take on Garcia vs Matthyese. I see a big night for Lucas. Garcia showed in my view some,to be polite, apprehension when he witnessed Matteyse destruction of Lamont Peterson. He has at the cery least, the all important mental edge.Posted July 19, 2013 9:47 pm
Pac has no defense and his chin was finally shattered. Floyd has nothing and he has had nothing to fear from Pac. Floyd would of toyed with Pac just as he has done with all aggressive fighters. Everybody said he wouldn’t fight Hatton and when he signed everybody said it was a mismatch. Now everybody said he wouldn’t fight Canelo and now that he has its a mismatch. The Pac fight could of happened 3 years ago but team Pac had some pretty lame excuses. There is a reason why Pac ducked Guzman, lost to Morales, Bradley and Marquez. He can’t handle boxers.Posted July 19, 2013 9:33 pm
ProfKonj, Well said. Time to change the Mayweather/Pacquiao cd and move on. This russian kid Gennady Golovkin is a breath of fresh air!! Much needed.Posted July 19, 2013 9:31 pm
Difference was Lewis was not unconscious. Pac was out cold for a few minutes. How many fighters can you name that came back from that? I can only think of DuranPosted July 19, 2013 9:20 pm
Ugly Ernie’s ugly mommy
That means Floyd wants to fight Pacquiao in 2015 — when he has 2 fights left on his contract… Can’t let this fight go undone, as it will continue to be one of the most talked about fights of the 21st Century.
It’s not as if no one ever beat an ATG fighter after suffering a one-punch KO.. L Lewis suffered 2 of them before he took out Tyson.. They where both younger than Pacquiao and Floyd will be.. It’s amazing how time flies.Posted July 19, 2013 9:16 pm
The fight was never gonna happen. Floyd and Golden Boy are not able to work with Arum because Arum is a bitter old man. This not a roadblock. So saying he is asking for another demand is crazy. The one thing Arum does know is if his fighter can win or not. That’s why he wouldn’t let Cotto near Floyd and the same reason he wasn’t gonna let Pac fight FloydPosted July 19, 2013 9:12 pm
My god and now we have the pretty boy pretender saying he won’t fight Pacman unless he signs with him, what happened to the only reason why he wouldn’t fight him is because of the drug testing. Once again Mayweather is making another condition as to the reason he won’t fight Pac. There is only one reason why he won’t fight him and it’s because he is scared. Once he gets in the ring Pacman has got his measure and will punish him and there will be no more places for him to hide or excuses for him too make. A good boxer but no heart cause he won’t fight the best there is….Posted July 19, 2013 9:04 pm

blah, blah, blah*Posted July 19, 2013 8:45 pm
Mayweather would fight Pacquiao* just to spite Arum. otherwise, it wouldn’t do much for his ring-legacy or his bank account. the lack of competitiveness is my only objection but if Pacquiao* wants to end his career being outclassed as severely as he was outPunched by Marquez, so be it. i’d pay to watch the second demoltion of Pacquiao*.Posted July 19, 2013 8:28 pm

Squared-Circle Real Talk (a.k.a. The Lion King of Beat Street)
Sorry FMJ, but that is an totally unnecessary demand and is actually preventing this fight from happening. No surprise here!
Just like all the baseless PED allegations and drug-testing demands — even though PacMan has NEVER once failed a drug test in his life. Clearly FMJ is still avoiding Pacman and really doesn’t want to to fight him for some reason.
It’s probably coming directly from the advice of Sr. and Uncle Roger. They’ve always saw something is Pac’s southpaw style that looks like a dangerous threat to Floyd’s style.Posted July 19, 2013 7:38 pm
This crap is like beating a dead horse..it’s not going anywhere and never did have a direction. I believe people bring this fantasy up just for something to say or something to write about. We’ll never know what could have been or what may have happened. It’s very old, very boring news. Let’s focus on the present and the guys who are willing to fight each other.Posted July 19, 2013 7:36 pm
just when you thought he couldn’t come up with anymore obstacles to keep this fight from happening, he does it again….unbelievablePosted July 19, 2013 7:25 pm
Mayweather promotions has some decent to good fighters. Don’t see that happeningPosted July 19, 2013 7:12 pm
Yeah who cares, but it is still funny. Man him and Arum just despise each other. lolPosted July 19, 2013 6:53 pm

I think the fight still happens because both guys blow their millions before their next fight. Floyd will be the highest grossing fighter of all time and will have nothing to show for it afterwards. The whole reason Floyd isn’t promoting himself with 50Cent is because he didn’t have the money to put up. Pac is known to have to take loans from Arum before each fight because he pisses it away. Both need to drop their entourages and worry about themselves.Posted July 19, 2013 6:30 pm
Floyd needs to stop putting obstacles in front of the fight, it makes him look bad. I am not saying I think Floyd is scared, because I don’t but why give people more evidence that you always want to put something between you and the fight. At this point the fight has lost all its luster and no one cares. Either fight him or don’t. Don’t give excuses.Posted July 19, 2013 6:28 pm
Floyds a better boxer than Pac, always has been, always will be, and I think 9/10 he wins that fight no matter when it happened.
WHen it was really on, he started with the obstacles.
He was genuinely scared.Posted July 19, 2013 6:27 pm
Pacquiao* routinely disrespected and brushed-off one of the most fierce, dedicated, and professional ring-warriors that has ever competed in the sport. even now, Manny* shamelessly dares try to dictate terms to Marquez the Greater. Karma is a b**ch and Pacquiao* nor his fanboys have any right to complain about Mayweather tossing Manny a bone following his three official and unofficial losses to Bradley and Marquez. including the #1 KO in Boxing history. following another loss to Rios, even Roach claims he’ll walk away from Pacquiao*. Manny’s fanboys should prepare to do the same. besides, the demand for Mayweather v. Pacquiao* has dwindled to Pacquiao* v. Bradley level, i.e., minimal. the outcome is predictable and ONLY Mayweather losing to Canelo and Pacquiao* defeating Rios can possibly revive it. neither is likely.Posted July 19, 2013 6:26 pm
Atta-boy Floyd! expose Pacquiao’s* slavish devotion to Arum as the primary stumbling obstacle to a P4P showdown ever happening. however, at this point, who cares? Pacquiao* is damaged goods who will probably lose to Rios and was never on Mayweather’s level anyway. in fact, it was that realization that compelled Arum to plant himself between Pacquiao* ever agreeing to terms with Mayweather. otherwise, Floyd agreeing to the unprecedented demand of a $10 million per pound overweight penalty is all the good faith Pacquiao* should’ve needed to simply agree to his counter-condition of improved but harmless testing. after all, unless Pacquiao* was trying to hide something, what was he so afraid of that Shane, Ortiz, and Guerrero weren’t?Posted July 19, 2013 6:17 pm
Mayweather is no longer setting conditions? Exactly what would Mayweather’s demand be called? Pacquiao would be laughed out of boxing if he signed a promotional contract with Mayweather after he was awarded an unspecified amount against Mayweather in the defamation legal action.Posted July 19, 2013 6:16 pm

And if it’s at a catchweight, and with drug testing, and with a 90/10 split, and you can’t hit me, and I get spotted ten points for each round, and if I don’t get penalized for coming in over contracted weight, and on and on and on…Posted July 19, 2013 6:14 pm

Martin good evening. Yes boxing is in a sickly state today and Imust agree that Arum certainly plays a part in its current state. I remember Arum back from the Ali era ehen he first nroke onto the svene and I had a foreboding that boxing was in for ba wild ride and not necessarily for the better. Yes we had incredible fights over the years thanksto fighters like the ilk of duran, leonard, hearns, hagker and a host of others who fought for the love of the sport thus making it easy for Don king and Arum to thrive and make those legendary bouts. Boxing is very watered down today compared to the level of fighters from that era. Yes there are a few exceptions today. But not many.Posted July 19, 2013 6:01 pm

Food for thought. Humility is a admirable quality to have. Lack of it can bring the most arrogant of us to our knees at some point. Just ask Anderson Silva about it. Pacquiao has handled his loss to a good fighter in Marquez very well. That’s called being a man, a champion and a humble person. Thise who seem to harbor irrational dislike for him could learn a bit of self reflection. Mayweather could akso perhaps soeak to Anderson Silva and learn a few things as well. Arrogance and lack of humility will take aperson but so far until the inevitable heavy dose of realty hits one when they LEAST expect it.Peave and strength.Posted July 19, 2013 5:50 pm

Secondly, this fight could have been made and there was mkre than enough money to go around for EVERYONE. Pacquiao agreed to ALL of his demands yet here comes a new stupidity and excuse.. Things like this just makes boxing lose its appeal to the casual fans who pay the bulk of the payper view and the hardcore enthusiasts like ourselves lose a bit of interest more each day. Now add to the mix his spawn, Adrian Broner with his ignorant and cartoonish and frankly low class street mentality and tjere is lottle wonder why people dont hold boxing in the esteem it used to be held in back in the glory days of the sport. Most of these fellas today are not tje most educated and it shows. The klitschkos are the exception to this. Too bad there arent more like them and Andre Ward. By the way this story is also on the boxing svene website as well. More of the same nothing about nothing from this fellow Mayweather.Posted July 19, 2013 5:41 pm
Hecdog Whats up. I must agree with you sir. This Has ALWAYS BEEN ABOUT MAYWEATHERS EGO. a healthy fear of Pacquiao. Also the desire to stick it to Arum. Floyd Mayweather continues to hit all time lows. I do believe Floyd is afraid of Manny Pacquiao, but I think his hate and disdain for Bob Arum/Top Rank is deeper. Floyd has gone completely crazy to even think Manny Pacquiao would do such a dumb and outrageous thing. There is plenty of money for both sides, but it’s Floyd’s ego that will never allow this fight to happen. We’ve all heard the millions of excuses Floyd comes out with and then tries to spin it the other way, but for him to approve a fight with Pacquiao only if he signs with Mayweather Prromotions clearly points at a direct attack on Mr. Arum. Manny Pacquiao wiould have and wcould still destroy Mayweather in the boxing ring, but Floyd IMO will never fight Manny Pacquiao. The biggest fight in boxing history will never happen.Posted July 19, 2013 5:10 pm
