The English commentators did not agree that Malik was up. They said it was very close and as the ref had got to 9 before Scott began to rise, they could see why the ref had counted him out. Nathan Cleverly was at ringside and said he had no sympathy for Scott as he had given the ref the opportunity to count him out. Steve Bunce (english commentator ringside) had it absolutely spot on when he said that Scott’s cornermen should have been banging on the floor and screaming full volume at him to get up at 8. Whether stunned or not, to leave it any longer is a very bad tactic. He was still down when the ref got to 9 and that is simply inexcusable.

It was a solid right hand over the top that landed on Scott’s head but Chisora is no single shot puncher and if Scott had any punch resistance at all he would have shook that off. Besides a total lack of any form of power, Scott looked fairly impressive but even he didnt complain too much as he knew he had left it too long to get up. If I was the ref I would chase up getting Scott’s cornerman banned for the way he spoke to him too. He kept screaming expletives such as ‘he was on his f@cking feet at 8′ when it was clear fo all to see that he was not. First rule of any sport is to be respectful of the authorities, regardless if you agree.

Chittenden Collins

He could of got straight back up and been up at 5, he didn’t want to know and saw a way out, get up on 9 and get counted at 10, Scott knew he was outmatched, no fighter gets up at 9 unless they are serioulsly wobbled or thay want to quit.

Nobody was out of gas… The round was ending. They were going into the 7th.

He was up idiot… He was up at 10 and the ref could look right in Scott’s eyes… He was a house ref all the way. Scott got cheated. He was up at 9 which the English commentators agreed.

Chisora the Prophet

He did gas out.

Bullcrap. So if you’re glove, knee, behind blah blah blah are off the canvas and you are slowly rising to an upright position you can make a ten count last what 15 – 20 seconds. You’re either up and ready to fight at 10 seconds or you’re out, simples.

Posted July 20, 2013 7:51 pm

TARK

Obviously if a knee is touching you’re also down… Scott was well up off the canvas.

TARK

NOPE!!!! You need to be up off the canvas before the 10 count… You don’t start a count until a glove, butt, back, arm, or face touches the canvas… If you’re off the floor by 10 you beat the count… Kermit Cintron didn’t beat the count vs Martinez, but he had a friendly referee who delayed saying “10″ for a second.. Scott easily beat the count in this fight.. He was up before 10 and the English commentators even said so … A partisan referee ruled him out.

You need to be in a position to fight at 10, not halfway through getting up

Right up you

Enjoy the result Michael Colins, get it seriously right up you.

The rules allow you a full 10 count to get up…

Scott was up BEFORE the count of 10. Everybody saw he was robbed. It was an equilibrium shot like David Price got hit with. The SMART thing to do is take a 9-count so your feet are very steady when you DO get up.. Otherwise if your feet waver even a speck you give the referee an excuse to stop it.. Obviously he wasn’t hurt badly.. He could have gotten up immediately, but he has 10 seconds to get up… If the rules stated he has to get up in 9.5 seconds he was STILL up … But he was definitely up before 10. So he was robbed blind.

The referee was harrassing him anyway. They put a partisan bastard in as referee and robbed the fans of a complete fight.

Wow either Malik Scott just mugged himself or he tried to make it look controversial since he didn`t fancy it

KO

Got to be on your feet at the 10 count, not in the act of rising.

Fight Aficionado

LOL Scott doesn’t gas out. If there’s one thing he’s good at doing it’s pace himself and avoid getting hit. Zzz.

I love my country but I want Chisora to win this one, then take on Fury in a rematch after Haye knocks him out.

Are ESB still allowing this guy to post? How can losing 20lb of lard possibly make anyone more tired??

This pundit says…, “When you take off that much blubber it tends to weaken you to where you’re not the same fighter you were before you started taking off all that lard.” …WTF is wrong with your brain pundit?

Chisora carried 265 pounds against Fury and tired out… He also popped a hernia shortly before the fight and could barely move or throw..

DC came into the Helenius fight at 243 and fought hard for 12 rounds, winning 10 of them on anybody’s card who wasn’t a judge for the fight.

So at 243 pounds and he looked great. For this fight he’s in even better shape at 242… Losing blubber speeds you up Schmitzelbits — it doesn’t slow you down… If Scott wins this fight, and he can win if he boxes instead of brawls, he’ll do it in spite of Chisora being at his best weight, condition, and durability. Expect a tough, active fight, with Chisora chasing Scott from ring post to ring post, but probably getting outboxed in the process. Besides Haye, who is a super boxer — Scott is the best young boxer Dereck has ever faced.. Vitali was 41.

Can’t believe Michael Collins mentioned the Helenius fight. If you watched that fight, Chisora won it – just the usual very poor home decision and Helenius was given a gift.
