Gonzo the Dragonborn

ROFL Brother Turbo-Hamster.

Sir Jimmy Saville was totally innocent of all these lurid and scandalous depraved crimes all these nefarious gold-digging harlots and sluts have been accusing him of. I know this to be true because that was the last time I had to summon the power of the Dragonbrn to tap into the ancient magic and wisdom to find out. One can’t attest for what he’s been getting up to in the spiritual plane or dream world since passing on though. lol

Turbo-Hamster

I will very much have to defer to the Dragonborn when it comes to utilising the gifts of Bahamut.

I have but once dabbled in the Arcane arts, attempting to reach my departed great grandfather to enquire as to where he left the remote control to his television before his demise.
In an unfortunate twist I instead made contact with the twisted soul of one Jimmy Saville whose inhuman bestial powers have only grown in his time in the spirit world. The cold horror in my heart as the Saville-spirit reached with his ghoulish hands towards my gonads has stayed with me ever since.

I feel it is because of this ill-advised, and poorly prepared foray into the arcane that I instead flung myself as a young hamster back into the world of the physical, mechanical and mathematic – akin to a rodent Leonardo Da Vinci, and began the process of physical augmentation which would eventually lead to my becoming a Turbo-hamster. I am now blessed with a 1.8L Twin Turbo engine, with which to make an escape in the event of another attack of paedo-spirits..

I am going to watch Kov-Clev with particular interest, the subtext of the arcane vs physical always adds an intriguing extra layer to a pugilistic encounter, and it is a fool who doe not take note when a Dragon deity is considering having a sneaky little flutter.

I really am pinning my hopes on Clev having solved Fermats last theorem and discovering that it is a new form of shovel-hook, that when thrown in combinations forming a fibonacci sequence can actually divide your opponent by zero.

It`s a long shot, but this is why I love boxing.

“The trick you always use which just shows how much of a donkey you are”-Nope. I’ve never used that “trick”. Its called POPULARITY. I’m SO popular that fans want to use MY name instead of their own. Similar to when people wear Kobe Bryant’s name on their back instead of their own….But the FACT that you are always “tricked” by this exposes your limited brain capacity. For YOUR sake I’m going to stop this conversation right now because I’M embarrassed for YOU….By the way, Cleverly has a GOOD chance here. Kovalev”s Boxing IQ doesn’t seem to be TOO high.

Gonzo the Unbannable

Brother KOnererman.. Trouble is Kovalev IS packing a sledgehammer. Two of them in fact.

I’m not picking Kovalev because it’s the obvious choice to many. I like Cleverly and rate him pretty highly, and I can certainly follow the logical process of thinking that’s leading some to pull of the upset. Believe me I can envisage the scenario of how he can win this in front of my very eyes as if it were real. The reason why I’m leaning towards Kovalev is because I’m actually using a gift that was bestowed upon me and my kin by the ancient Dragon God deity Bahamut – the gift of the Dragonborn – to tap into and harness the power of an esoteric arcane wisdom and knowledge that only a Dragonborn can comprehend and understand. This goes far beyond the laws of mathematics Brother Turbo-Hamster. A word of caution though. This wisdom is not 100% infallible. Tapping into this ancient brand of esoteric knowledge is actually a very dangerous and risky procedure – even for a Dragonborn – and there have been many accidents and fatalities in the past. This is why it is highly advisable not to misuse this git. I’m literally risking my life by doing this. Risking my life to do something that it’s no guarantee will be 100% accurate, although it’s without question somewhere in the region of 90%.

Cleverley is very tough, great chin, great workrate, and underrated skills. I think he can beat the hard hitting Russian, and i’d take him over the best the USA has too; BHOP , Cloud and Dawson.

KOrnerman

the Americans havnt seen any of Cleverly, they think he’s a weak champion, just like when they sent over JL to beat JC and he got sent packing with a career ending beatdown of his life, very similar to what is going to happen again, sorry my yanky friends.

man all these supposed fans are going to look like fools when Clev BOSSES him for 12 rounds, Krusher isn’t going to know whats hit him, wait n see, and remember I predicted Froch to wipe out Bute when everyone thought otherwise.

Posted July 25, 2013 4:58 am

Turbo-Hamster

That is MY prediction and I am taking PRIDE in not just going for the OBVIOUS pick with patronising CAPITALISATION that Kovalev is going to punch Cleverly in the FACE until he falls over for 10 seconds.

Posted July 25, 2013 2:38 am

Turbo-Hamster

The intangible that people are overlooking here is the fact that Cleverly has a degree in Pure Maths.

That is an actual proper degree in a hard subject, not like the glorified PE teacher sports science crap that the Klitschko’s have.

Cleverly is going to use these maths skills, along with a protractor to mathematically create a new and impossible punch that leverages all the powers of the number.

Kovalev is not going to be able to handle the pure cognitive processing requirement to grasp the nature of this punch, though I do concede that Kovalev is well known to be something of a dab hand in the local pub quiz, especially on the geography questions.

In any case, after witnessing the Pythagorean mauling of Kovalev, all boxers in the future will bring a mathematician into their corners instead of a cutman.

Squared-Circle Real Talk (a.k.a. The Lion King of Beat Street)

I’m an American, but speak the truth — especially when it comes to the fight game. Calzaghe outboxed and beat both B-Hop and Roy Jones.

I don’t care if you didn’t like his style or think he had a weak resume, Joe C won both of those fights officially and in reality. There were no robberies involved! Sure, Calzaghe’s style was a bit awkward at times, but he was a high-volume puncher and a great fighter with high ring-IQ, who retired undefeated. You will never hear me say anything bad about the Welshman.

Coincidentally, I have a similar tattoo as Joe C’s in the exact same spot (upper left arm/shoulder). It got it when I was 19-years-old — years before I had ever seen JC fight. Coincidentally, Mickey Ward also has a very similar tattoo in the exact same place. But are these just strange coincidences? Probably not. It’s really much deeper than that, but I don’t care to get into that type of discussion here on ESB.

BELIEVE ME WARREN AND CLOVERLY WILL FIND AN EXCUSE TO DROP OUT OF THIS FIGHT, EITHER INJURY OR SOME PHONY EXCUSE.

Posted July 24, 2013 5:24 am

Mick the Marmalizer

If Cleverley wins(No foregone conclusion) Then unification has to start happening & it needs to start with Kazakhstan’s WBA titlist Beibut Shumenov on neutral ground(USA?) with a 50% purse split! Joe Calzaghe hid behind the WBO belt for far too long & only got respect when he started to travel & unifie titles @ 175Lb. Unfortunatly Clev is also far too inactive & needs to kick Frank Warren into touch.

Posted July 24, 2013 4:41 am

Tark – Larry Homes was dropped by Renaldo Snipes, Felix Trinidad was dropped by Kevin Leushing, Wlad K was beaten by Ross Purrity and dropped by Sam Peter, Marciano was dropped by Walcott, Joe Louis was dropped by Tony Galento, Hearns was dropped by Andries…the list goes on and on. Your logic is extremely flawed, as we can all see. Calzaghe was having his very first fight at Light Heavy, his very first fight in the USA against a naturally much bigger man who was on a winning streak, and who would continue on a winning streak, he got caught cold early on, it happens, he was not hurt and got up to outbox, outthink, outpunch and outheart Hopkins, who grabbed, held, fell to the floor, whined like a girl, complained, cheated, played for time, cried foul falsely..he humiliated himself in his own back yard. The fact that Calzaghe got caught cold in round 1 and the fact that Hopkins was 43 are irrelevances as you well know.

@Badger…get an education, ”Subjects” and ”Serfs” aint the same thing fool!
Cleverley has a pretty good chin, and can both box and brawl, he seems to have more tools in the box than Kovalev, who looks a mediocre fighter with a big shot.

it doesnt matter if cleverly goes toe to toe or if he boxes or if he runs. the results are the same. theres nowhere to run in the ring. serg kovalev by brutal skull krushing. the same result it will be against ANYONE at light heavy if they fight the krusher. you dont have a stoppage rate like serg kovalev cause your lucky. this guys the real deal. a rarity.

who’s this cat below making excuses for campillo? dude did you watch serg skull krush campillo? kovlalev blitz kriegs and overwhelms with frequency and most importantly the best most powerful weapons. this guy could blosom in to an atg light heavy. he is currently in the category of MEGABEAST like mathyse, ggg, the klitschKOs. and we may be adding canelo to that list in the future. just brutal, powerful attackers.

“Tell us William and Kate… What did you decide to name your boy?”

“We decided to name him Nathan Cleverly after the Welsh boxer.”

Nobody will be surprised if Cleverly slugs it out with Kovalev. That’s his style. That’s what Enzo Calzaghe teaches. It’s not like he can box, or jab and counter like a master from the outside … or has another option.

KORNERMAN: Does Campillo riing a bell, a man many people feel was robbed against Cloud and the present WBA champ Shumenov, who he had previously beat. . Granted I though Kovalev’s victory was a little hyped up in that Campillo did not seem to really come prepared for that fight.Kudo’s for Cleverly for taking this fight, but if he goes toe to toe with Kovalev, he may have to go to court to have his last name changed to Dumberly

Posted July 23, 2013 6:31 pm

Turbo-Hamster

I think this goes 12 rounds, ends up a SD, KOvalev landing the quality and Cleverly the quantity.

Then we have the usual cries of robbery from whichever side loses.

Cleverly might try going toe to toe for one round to earn Kovalev’s respect but this jabbering is just to sell the fight.

Posted July 23, 2013 6:10 pm

I’ve personally met Clev & found him to be a very likable chap. However to progress & gain World wide credibility he has to kick Frank Warren into touch, start unifying & fight aboard more often!

Cleverly is a good boxer but has he had his chin checked yet? Not seeing a lot of guys with power on his resume. I was a little surprised this fight got made so all the props to Cleverly. Kovalev put on a brutal display of power in his last fight and I thought would have a hard time getting a high profile fight after that.

Posted July 23, 2013 4:55 pm

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Cleverly is a paper champ and will get beaten convincingly by Kovalev. Kovalev is smarter, stronger and tougher than wannabe Cleverly.

Squared-Circle Real Talk (a.k.a. The Lion King of Beat Street)

Cleverly is not going to go toe-to-toe with the Krusher and will certainly NOT knock him out. That is downright laughable… LOL.

If he tries to stand his ground and exchange with Kova, he will get KTFO — and in brutal fashion. Real talk.

Posted July 23, 2013 3:22 pm

Xavier

Cleverly can win this, but brawling early on is asking for trouble. Cleverly isn’t necessarily going to tell you his real game plan for the night either! Sergey has a test here too. How will Kovalev react to a title fight in his opponent’s turf? How is Sergey in the later rounds, because he’s accustomed to winning early these days? Having said that, Kovalev has a good chance to prove his worth here. A case can be made for either guy, so it’s a real match.

Posted July 23, 2013 3:19 pm

Clev will take his best shots and keep coming and BOSS him for 12 rounds, who has Kovalev KO’d of note? no one.

Posted July 23, 2013 3:15 pm

Cleverly keeps saying he’s going to brawl Kovalev. If so he’s getting KTFO. I suspect he’s setting up Kovalev to expect a brawl when he’s actually going to try and outbox him.

The only way Cleverly wins this fight is if Kovolev slips and the ref. jumps in and stop the fight, as they usually do in Britain.
