97-93 for Fortuna as far as I saw it between nodding off…

TARK

Franco beat Fortuna by a couple points… He was pretty confident he was going to get it… At the same time his grin acknowledged that he realizes how screwy and inconsistent boxing judges are. The scores were all over the map and Atlas had the worst one.

Cintron got a “gimme win” over a terribly inexperienced kid who didn’t want to fight and doesn’t have 30% of a complete game yet.

right about Cintron, his style not effective, the old cintron would’ve blasted Batista out quick…..he’s gunshy, not a good thing for a boxer

I agree with GUS. What’s wrong with Teddy Atlas? Did you notice how they quit showing how the viewers were scoring it. Teddy admitted to scoring one round for Fortuna based on ONE LANDED PUNCH!

Interesting comments Informer, if true. I’m not sure about Cintron’s right hand. If he ends up on a card I’m watching I’ll pay extra attention to that. As it stands his fights are so boring now it’ll have to be through random luck, on the undercard of a bout I want to see.

Both fights were snorebores, thanks to Cintron and Franco’s negative boxing styles. Unfortunately Batista has no skils and the judges were given a big delivery of Cuban crack to fix the main event. As for Batista, he has no self control. He constantly fought dirty which was sort of amusing but ineffective.

fight was closer than two judges thought, Fortuna trying to impose will, landing the harder punches, while Franco on the defensive but landing more punches in between…..

I missed these fights last night. Were they on ESPN?

Gus

Atlas was very critical of the judge who scored the fight 99 for Franko. How about his own score of 99 for Fortunate- what fight was he watching? Atlas s scored the 10th round for Fortunate- this was clearly one of Frankos better rounds and Fortuno looked like he was hurt and losing his technique. Atlas was very biased for Fortunain this fight and someone needs to tell him that he doesn’t need to talk 3min of every round.

KERMIT CINTRON WOW

Informer

I hope the writer of this article can have his peers go back and look at his last several fights and notice that Cintron has a hurt right hand. Someone should ask him about it. They should also question it before a fight to see how many meaningful right hands he throws. All of his right hands to the head are purposefully missed. He will occasionly slap the right hand to the body. He will fake the right to the head. He now throws triple left hooks. That was never his game in the past.

Informer

I am disappointed that I am the only one who has recognized that Kermit Cintron’s Right hand is hurt. He has not thrown a meaningful head shot with his right hand in about 5 fights. His right hand was his lethal weapon but he only throws lefts now. As a result it is worth mentioning: If you use your jab you can be competitive an any fight. Since Kermit has been a one handed fighter over the past several fights he is forced to use his left jab exclusively. In some since his boxing is better now because he uses his jab and is very defensive. Now, I bet he says if he had only used his left skills he has had to develop since he hurt his right back before he hurt it he would still be undefeated now. Teddy Atlas thinks he is falling apart. He is not falling apart. He just can’t put guys away since he has no right and when he can’t keep them off with the jab he can’t defend himself.

Kermit has been done for a looooong time now …….Shame but true , he had everything going for him ….Than the wheels just fell off him …………

I hope that this is the last time FNF or any major TV fight channel practically forces us to see Cintron again. As for Fortuna, as I said before, he’s a rather overrated comodity and will eventually fall short.

PEEJ

Cintron is done. He is only a gatekeeper for 147. Don’t even think he can beat Soto.

good decision for Cintron.
