Squared-Circle Real Talk (a.k.a. The Lion King of Beat Street)
No, actually TEAM GGG has been consistently saying for over two years that they want a a shot at all the World Champions from 154 – 168lbs. There are video interviews that prove this fact all over YouTube.
If I have to spell it out for you, that means TEAM GGG has been calling out FMJ, Ward, Maravilla and Canelo, among other title/strap holders.
GGG has already moved classes. Why should he keep going? Is it his fault guys are running scared to other divisions? After ever fight; when the commentator asks who he wants next he always says the same thing “anyone” they say, are you sure? Anyone? “Yes! Anyone”Posted August 7, 2013 10:29 pm
Na he ain’t gonna run from GGG. As a matter of fact it was GGG team that has already said they are not moving up from 160. So that says a lot there. The comp at 168 is much better than it is at 160. And us Americans like GGG. He is a beast. But unfortunately you can only see what you want to see, not what is really happening.Posted August 7, 2013 8:18 pm

But hes NOT so he aint that good. ha ha ha ha ha To BAD he will NEVER get to PROVE himself with ALL these chicken BELT holders. WARD will RUN for the HILLS. Hes the JEWEL in the CROWN. The REST GGG will eat them alive… It will be like MAYWEATHER running SCARED from PACMAN… Karl FROCH is a LOUD MOUTH but he has GUTS he will eventually fight GGG. And get a ASS WHOPPING. forget the fighters after the Macklin fight no managers want to put there fighter in with Golovkin.
in fact Muarray and Baker were stunned from that Macklin fight and both there managers have said it is bad idea to fight Golovkin right now.
Stevens….he is a plodding punching bag. I can’t even imagine how bad he would be beat if he took this fight and his promoter agreed to it.Posted August 6, 2013 6:24 pm
Stevens will always have the punchers chance, but against a skilled technician he will also have to take punishment, which is what separates the greats from the just goodPosted August 6, 2013 1:21 pm
Ok after telling me that and me rereading it I can now see that. I still think GGG is the truth though and will run 160 for as long as he wants. But I guess only time will tell. I still like the Stevens vs GGG matchup though only on a power stand point.Posted August 6, 2013 11:04 am

I have no issues with this fight. Would there be better fights for either guy? Yes of course, but most of the Middles who could challenge GGG are tied up.
I would be more intrigued by a Stevens-Macklin fight, or Steven-David Lemieux fight.Posted August 6, 2013 9:28 am
Geale will Fight GGG, he’s a gd test 4 any1..Good movement, heart, punches in bunches from all diff angles also very willing 2 get it on anywhere anytime….no super star but a very tricky opponent.Posted August 6, 2013 8:46 am

Peej – You misinterpret Woop Woops mental ramblings. He is saying that GGG won’t fight Stevens because he not a Welter or Jnr Middle. His moments of insanity are always about GGG fighting guys smaller or injured or have had long lay-offs from the ring. They were rhetorical questions in which he answered himself with ‘NO’.Posted August 6, 2013 6:43 am

Ggg is nice and can punch. Hes cant miss tv but ppl are giving him too much credit already. only one out of his last four fights has been against a real middleweight. Why does he get a pass for fighting smaller guys? Stevens wants to fight. He called ggg out after the fight. Nobody else is calling him out. Stevens at least has a punchers chance, something none of ggg’s recent opponents have had.Posted August 5, 2013 7:53 pm
Stevens is made for Golovkin, 1 or 2 round ko! Golovkin hasnt proved he is the best by a long way yet, a win over a ring rusty Macklin who was coming off an injury doestnt mean you are no 1..he might turn out to be, but he needs to beat Martinez, Murray, Geale and Chavez Jr to prove it…i 2 or 3 years he ”’might” get beat by Billy Joe Saunders or Chris Eubank Jr though!Posted August 5, 2013 7:12 pm

I FEEL SORRY FOR GGG. He has to FIGHT nobodies, for the REST of his CAREER. Thats BECAUSE he CALLS OUT THESE FAKE PAPER CHAMPIONS. They AVOID GGG as if GGG was HIV positive. Seems like the MAYWEATHER Cherrypicking has TAKEN over the BOXING SCEEN.Posted August 5, 2013 6:35 pm
Golovkin beats them all with ease, next time this guy fights just watch him. There are no flaws, so now his chin hasn’t been tested.
Really everyone…… Matthew Macklin is a test for anyone. He was certainly a test for Martinez. Golovkin destroyed Macklin so I say he has stepped it up massively. Before hand I wasn’t sure of his credentials but after that stoppage I certainly was.
I’m a fan of both Martinez and Golovkin and would love the match up to take place. Granted Martin Murray is better than given credit for but Martinez could well be on the slide. He’s been knocked down in 3 of his last four fights by punchers lesser than Golovkin. My prediction would be for Golovkin to catch up with him between rounds 6-8 and win via ko!!!Posted August 5, 2013 4:05 pm

I like this fight but only if the bigger fights like Martinez can’t happen. Given DiBella said no to GGG already and Chanvez Jr is booked, they may as well do it. Yeh Murray went to prison as a kid, so cant get a U.S visaPosted August 5, 2013 12:00 pm
I’m hoping this doesn’t come off… it’s a pointless fight at this time, even as a “stay busy” fight. And why fight twice in two months? Just fight once and make it a quality opponent… two fights in two months suggests both would be “stay busy” fights (i.e. you don’t take even a soft fight a month out from a competitive one… the injury risks are too high).
The Geale-Barker fight is only weeks away so why not wait for the result of that and negotiate with the winner? Or even Martin Murray… there was talk of that a while ago but it’s since vanished (they were saying something about Murray’s visa???).Posted August 5, 2013 11:46 am

Gonzo the Malevolent
The Truth is SRED-MONGED Brother. He’s trying to hide is nasty little racial agenda behind the veil of nationalism but once again, as he does with everything he attempts to do in life, falling flat on his face and making a prize tit of himself. This is what always happens when children try to deceive adults. They lack the intelligence to realize how painfully transparent their deception is. You have to ask yourself what type of person keeps trying to instigate fights with adversaries they have absolutely zero chance of defeating? He’s so hopelessly outgunned in every single conceivable department, be it in the mental or physical realm, that it’s not even a fair fight. But beating him down and heaping humiliation upon him doesn’t work because he literally has no shame or even the merest semblance of self-respect. I know this better than everyone. I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’ve chased him out of threads. He’s completely obsessed by me. He can’t keep my name out of his mouth. But the years of utter humiliation I’ve heaped upon his gormless cadaverous visage have reduced him to cowering behind alt attacks now, pretty much most of which I smoke out in the amount of time it takes him to shoot his load over a fresh batch of Scat-Pron.
The Truth is just another one of his woefully obvious alts. He’s often used this one to back up his Supreme Court alias in arguments where he was totally outgunned and out of his depth, as he is when engaging in combat type situations with all intelligent life forms. The delicious irony is that the one sobering, soul destroying and deeply depressing ‘truth’ of his reality is that he literally has no life outside this place. Beating him down in public and humiliating lost it’s luster long ago. However, I must confess it does bring a little smile to one’s lips knowing that this is literally all he has, other than than taking that worthless moribund peasant cripple of a father of his out for the odd stroll *cough.. I mean push .. cough* down to the park. Just as long as he’s got his can of oil that is. ROFLPosted August 5, 2013 9:53 am

Agree about Chavez, he should move up. Also a round-robin tournament among those guys you mentioned would be great, I’d add Pirog if he ever comes back.Posted August 5, 2013 9:14 am
If Floyd beats Canelo (which i beleive he will), id like to see Canelo at middleweight where he belongs. Now that would make things VERY interesting. Martinez is ready to either be beaten badly, or retire. So Golovkin, Martin Murray, Daniel Geale, Peter Quillin, Darren Barker, and maybe Chaves in a super 6 style tournament would be amazing for the fans. Personaly i would like to see Chaves go up to SMW to fight guys his own size thoughPosted August 5, 2013 9:06 am
I heard Chaves called him out, but not from the mouth of Chaves. I agree, great fight with Chaves taking alot of punishment before getting stopped. It has been well documented however that Quillin got too brave sparring with GGG and got brutaly KOd. Again i never heard this from either guys mouth, but when Quillin was aked about it he never admitted nor denied it. Again, great fight between 2 exciting guys.Posted August 5, 2013 9:00 am

To station a base within a foreign country, there needs to be a clear military advantage for putting it there, for both countries. The main reason Britain has no base in America is because Britain really has no strategic interests around where America is at. The few British possessions in the area, like Bermuda and the Virgin Islands, aren’t under any threat from a foreign power. It’s different in the South Atlantic, where the UK has a strong military presence in the Falkland Islands. In the North Atlantic, if a war were to break out for any reason, Britain and America would probably be allies, and the US would undoubtedly prefer to look after things without any help from the rest of the world.
For America’s strategic interests, however, the possible threat that Russia poses means they will want a military presence in the region – and the UK and Germany are the best places to station bases.
Another factor is money – America usually shells out a large amount of cash to the host country to keep their bases there (I don’t know if this applies in Britain). If the UK established a base in America, it would cost money which the people of Britain would rightfully demand a good reason for its expenditure. But again, a British base in America would not be really useful to anyonePosted August 5, 2013 7:17 am
The Americans still have military bases in Germany and England to this very day. That’s because they know you savages will start another major world war unless you’re kept under control. How many German or British military bases are there on U.S. soil? Zero!
The Americans still own you Anglo-Saxon Limey Brittards and Nazi Krouts to this very day. Their military could wipe you off of the map within seconds if you stop taking orders from them and licking their feet and asses. The Americans are your masters now and forever!Posted August 5, 2013 7:11 am

P4P the Germans and the English (Anglo-Saxons) are by far the most evil, diabolical, murderous, genocidal savages that ever walked the face of the earth. They’ve done far more permanent damage to human civilization that any other ethnic group. People like “Gonzo” probably think it’s something to be proud of, but it’s not! They should be down on their knees begging for forgiveness from the rest of the world. Then after a few hundred years of heart-felt apologies, the world’s deep-seated hatred for you WASPs may begin to cease a little bit. Maybe…
The most offensive part, is that they arrogantly still think of themselves as the entitled “master race” and refuse to acknowledge that their forebearers did anything wrong.Posted August 5, 2013 5:35 am

Ok yes he won the middleweight title. I wish he was fighting the same Pavlik that fought Taylor but he didn’t. Hopkins ruined him and sent Hume into a drinking binge which sent him in and out of rehab. I have him full credit for KOing Williams and winning the championship from Pavlik. But he has not defended the belt against the best in his division. He got a gift against Murray. He calls out smaller fighters and turning down the top comp in his division claiming there is no money in it. He is good but he is not elite. He is making up another reason in not fighting the comp in his division by saying he is gonna take a tune up. Murray was supposed to be a tune up from his last fight and now he has to do it again.Posted August 4, 2013 9:57 pm

Who wants to see fights that are sparring sessions followed by absurdly easy KO’s??? GGG has been forced to fight those — because the pundits that be aren’t demanding better matches.Posted August 4, 2013 9:16 pm
First, it depends on who is rating a fighter to call him “overrated,” and even then, it’s subjective.
However, you cannot refute that he is Good. He is MW Champion of the World after all. Not many have claimed that title and have been praised like he has.
Also remember how late he took up the sport. How many have taken up the sport that late and have reached the success he has? Not many. And and add in how he fights, I would say that is very impressive.
If there is an issue at this point is that his success came a bit to late. His body is already breaking down which has been vital to his success. Especially since he took up the sport late and had to somehow catch-up on the fundamentals on the go.
It’s a shame too: He was having some great fights and showing all the attributes a Champion should show. But at this point, his body is breaking down and he is fighting off his opponent as well as Father-Time.Posted August 4, 2013 9:09 pm

I don`t want to see someone with his ability wasting more time having to dispose of someone like Stevens just because Stevens knocked out a guy who is already hitting double figures in losses.
Does anyone actually care about Chavez, Martinez or Quillin fighting anyone not name GGG?
I don`t, I want unifications.
I cut Geale some slack here because he at least unified within 2 fights of winning his strap, even if he was stripped for what was essentially Sturms consistent ducking of GGG. After Barker though Geale needs to Get in with the Borat that his countryman Mundine shamelessly ducked.Posted August 4, 2013 7:31 pm

I thought Martinez was on the injured list for a while? Stevens stopped a journeyman jr middlwt last night. Hopefully GGG can find a better opponent. Stevens should box macklin.Posted August 4, 2013 3:37 pm
If the big boys won’t fight ggg who will?Posted August 4, 2013 3:22 pm
Ggg hasnt been tested yet so we rsally cant say where he stands. How good is hos chin when hit?Posted August 4, 2013 2:18 pm
Martinez is STILL the champ! GGG looks good but he’s yet to defeat a boxer of Martinez’s quality and we should not be recognising him as the true champ of the division until he has put Martinez to sleep.Posted August 4, 2013 2:04 pm
