Interesting. I knew of that post and timeline initially, just chin-checking your truth status. It was basically the ONLY fact you could back up, so you predictably tried. It is obvious now that your involvement with “several” world champs was just another one of your bs keyboard warrior dik-moves, just like those HUGE wagers you so eloquently tried to impress the masses with yet still can’t back up. Another fail on your part…

Everybody has been avoiding Pulev so he’s been on the shelf… Thompson doesn’t think that way.. He sees that Pulev has only 17 pro fights and a limited number of rounds.. He’s almost as green as a professional as David Price was, and only has a 53% KO ratio.

I just see Pulev winning easy.

Posted August 1, 2013 7:48 pm

That’s well BEFORE the fact.. You can still check it out Idiot Ernie.

Anonymouse…

I was RIGHT!!! It IS difficult to hit a tall, slick southpaw with a jab and Pulev showed again he has a great jab… Obviously I picked Pulev from the beginning so I had the winner. But he needs to develop his inside game, body attack, shorten his lead hooks, bring his guard in closer to his body etc… He has a few areas Wladimir can exploit.

Thompson is not a super tough opponent at his age.. I would love to see Pulev vs Fury or Haye.. Or let’s say Mansour, Jenning, Wilder, Banks, Boytsov, Scott, Charr, or Hanks… He needs more fights before he fights Wladimir … but it’s big money so he’ll do it.

No one is mentioning the fact that Pulev had only month and a half for preparation, this is too little time for oponent like Tompson. For me he Pulev was in worse shape than against Ustinov and Dimitrenko.

Posted August 24, 2013 6:33 pm

BEARS

yeah, i thought pulev would pull this one out. You can see watching pulev he’s a good fighter. after haye beats fury if haye fights another contender it should be stieverne or pulev.

”Pulev is a little heavy…he doesn’t look in peak condition.. He’s been on the shelf a long time and may be rusty…

He’s going to have to win this fight on sheer grit and determination — because it’s going to be a very tough fight… It’s very hard to hit a taller southpaw with jabs when you haven’t fought a lot of them… I hope there were a lot of tall, crafty southpaw heavyweights in his camp to spar with.

Wait…there aren’t a whole lot of tall crafty southpaw heavyweights in the world.”

You were dead wrong!! It was not hard at all to hit a taller southpaw!!

correction…I meant to say that I just got home…sorry for that

I’m sorry I didn’t get a chance to write any analysis articles for any of the fights this week, guys.

I had a family emergency last night and didn’t just got home.

But I really wanted to write one for this bout and the upcoming Showtime “Santa Cruz/Terrazas” contest in Carson, CA.

It’s going to be a war.

A couple of things to note before the fights tonight, it’s going to be interesting to see what condition Jhonny Gonzales is in after working with Nacho and Memo. if we see the former champ looking ripped and in great fight shape, we could see a much more interesting test for Mares.

Also, Leo Santa Cruz usually fights up or down to his level of competition. In my mind, this is his toughest test to date…not necessarily from a skill level perspective, but from a confidence and mental toughness standpoint.

It’s going to be interesting to see if Leo can impose his will on a mentally and physically strong opponent. In my mind, this is the most intriguing bout of the weekend.

Pulev is a very talented fighter. His hand speed and footwork is very impressive.

But if Tony is in good condition, it’s going to be very difficult to keep him at a safe distance for 12 rounds.

I’m not so sure that he will be though…that’s the biggest question going into this bout.

This fight is less than two months removed from his war with David Price. Although he won the bout by technical stoppage, he was floored and took some very heavy shots from one of the harder punchers in the division.

Also at the weigh in, Tony didn’t remove his shirt…why? That’s a huge red flag, guys.

Tony might be realizing that maybe he shouldn’t have taken this fight so soon after going to battle with Price.

If that’s the case, we could see Pulev by mid to late rounds stoppage!!

I have seen Pulev beating the crap out of Solis in the Bulgarian Stranjda cup.He beated solis fair and square with big difference in the points. Also he has allot of loses against Camarele but he was never dominated. Also he has one win over Camarele.

A brother

“This is a fight where anything can happen, because Pulev hasn’t been in with good heavyweights since he turned pro”

?hmmm – this Pulev guy has the most solid heavyweight resume for a fighter with less than 20 fights. Pulev will defeat fat old TT easier than he did Dimi and Ustinov whom are very good boxers themselves.

Posted August 24, 2013 1:32 pm

AssyrianGod

Pulev has beaten pretty good fighter in Ustinov and Dimitrenko, and the likes of Sprott, Vidoz, Walker, Skelton, Guinn, Oloukon, Rossy and Pediyura arent too bad either, Compare those names in just 17 fights to the 29 stiffs Wilder has ko’d, and his competition has been pretty stiff. Only Tyson Fury, out of the guys who have only been pro 3 or 4 years (or are still very young) is roughly equivalent.

Posted August 24, 2013 1:32 pm

rod

as for pulev’s jab not working. He will have a harder time landing it against a southpaw but pulev has one of the best jabs in the division and would have done his homework which included 100 plus rounds with some southpaw sparring partners. He has been boxing his whole life and will not make stupid mistakes in his final fight before a title shot.

Posted August 24, 2013 1:24 pm

Viking SS

Pulev has only been a pro 3 years and soon 4 years NOT even close to the mentioned 5 yrs.

Thompson is a very good a solid boxer and the best Pulev yet has faced but Ustinov, Dimitrenko, Guinn, Vidoz, Rossy, Walker, Sprott and Pedyura are all good tests for a fighter with only 17 fights in the pro game. Better than any other fighter in HW with so few fights.

Posted August 24, 2013 1:23 pm

rod

Pulev has a solid bodytype. Leaner than Arreola but along way off from Haye or Wilders ripped abs. He is around 250pounds which is perfect for him. Tony at 260 plus pounds will be facing a very caution pulev who will not get KOed with one punch like price or fight a punch for punch slug out like price’s second encounter with Tony. Pulev will do what pulev always does stay on the outside and fight an ambush in and out fight. He will UD Thompson in a wide decision. Old Tiger is old and heavy and will not end Pulev early like he did to price. Good solid test for Pulev to prove himself.
