Trout does not get the same credit for defeating Cotto coming DIRECTLY off a bruising loss as Floyd does for beating him coming off a win streak including a feel good stoppage of his nemesis Margarito… That’s just not how this works, besides Trout by his OWN admission is a BIG 154 pounder which is validated by his weighing OVER 170 coming into the ring… Floyd came up in weight to face Miguel and was the older boxer… These are all facts that easily piss on the assertions of ESB Dog, and Conspiracy Theorist Hidalgo aka “Mr Changing Stances”Posted September 6, 2013 12:35 pm
All this chatter and you guys are gonna sit there and watch another edition of the Floyd Mayweather show.. Act 1 Canelo and Floyd feel eachother out, meanwhile FMJ’s brain is processing Canelos habits at the speed of thought.. Act 2 Canelo trys to open up a bit and his rabid fans cheer the slightest motion as Floyd rolls his shots and smirks, while stabbing him with some slick counters (the announcers) give him undue credit, Act 3 Floyd starts landing the ring hand and whipping Canelos head around while never letting him set his cement feet.. Act 4 The right hands begin landing with Greater frequency while Alvarez is reduced to a plodding youngster walking around the ring looking confused and increasingly tired of getting smashed in the face, his interpreter spews his corners instructions which are desperate and false ie “hes getting tired” “you are too strong for him” “use your jab” in the end Canelo is swollen, defeated and 10 million dollars richer… Floyds hand is raised “he says Hard Work and Dedication” thanks his Dad and the “Money Team” while his detractors committ Mass suicide while blaming Kenny Bayless for not putting handcuffs on Mayweather… HaHaHa!Posted September 6, 2013 11:23 am

And Cotto’s wobbly legs agree with ME that Floyd’s a Bigger Puncher than Trout. And all EXPERTS agree with ME that Floyd is the BETTER Fighter…..On the night of September 14th Canelo will ALSO agree with ME on that.Posted September 5, 2013 10:40 pm
According to the “genial” public enemy you just need to weight a lot, lost that weight the day before the fight and rehydrate!!! Simple.. Thats the formula to be a stellar fighter. Why puerto rican fighter can not do that!!!!! How many stellar fighters puerto rico has right now? zero.Posted September 5, 2013 9:04 pm
Listen, Sybil, er…Boxtradamus, stop trying to make Mayweather’s performance against Cotto out to be more than it was. After watching the Mayweather/Cotto fight Trout openly stated he would not fight Cotto “the way Mayweather did.” Trout already had a plan and the real FACT is that he executed it better than Floyd did when he fought Cotto. Miguel Cotto is always ready for his opponents. As I said before he’s a very consistent fighter whether he’s wearing a championship belt or not. Trout did a better job against Cotto than Floyd did. That’s it.Posted September 5, 2013 8:06 pm
“Here goes Braggadamus with the “version” crap again.”-Nope. There I went with that version FACT again. The FACT is that facing a CHAMP is different from facing a NON CHAMP. IN THESE DAYS OF DNA testing advancements, why can’t we go back and retest the samples given to he boxing commissions where there are rumours and allegations of abuse.
Sadly, I think samples are destroyed once tested negative. I suggest samples are kept on file, especially if there are any kind of doubts about the results and can be Estes at a later date when scientific breakthroughs can identify any kind of tampering or adulteration.
It’s the only way to weed out these cheats, but oh, no! The commissions colluded in masking over e positive exults of the tests back in the day.
My suggestion is ONE STRIKE and you are out of there!

Hidalgo- Boxtra doesn’t understand a lot about the sport so he makes up his own version of the “facts” which is mostly just his uniformed opinion. You are correct, of the 3 Judah faced the most formidable version of Cotto. Cotto had taken 2 horrible beatings at the hands of Margarito & Pac before facing Jr, then Trout. Cotto didn’t take excessive punishment in the Jr fight as to noticeablPosted September 5, 2013 12:16 pm

This is totally untrue. Pre-fight hype is just that. Hype. Too bad Roberto Duran isn’t fighting today. He really would hate Floyd.Posted September 5, 2013 11:55 am

Canelo is already being CONDESCENDING and looking DOWN on Floyd, he thinks he’s going to throw a few HARD punches and Floyd is going to fall down!!
Canelo is BELIEVING all of his PRESS CLIPPINGS that he’s GREAT already after beating Matthew Hatton, Lovemore N’Dou, Alfonso Gomez and a 40 year old Carlos Baldomir!!

“Judah faced the Championship level version of Cotto and SO did Floyd…..but Trout never DID. ”
Here goes Braggadamus with the “version” crap again. Listen up twit: Miguel Cotto is a very consistent fighter whether he wins, loses or draws. Trout fought just as good a Cotto as Mayweather did. But, Judah fought a better one than both of them because Judah fought Cotto long before Margarito beat him down with his cheating wraps. That beating took something out of Miguel that he never got back.Posted September 5, 2013 2:27 am
The negative effect of losing weight is going to be determined by what it is you are losing.
There is a limit to how much fat you have in your body, and how low it can go while still functioning, and at some point you have to be talking muscle coming and going.
The problem is it is much easier to manage where and how you put muscle on, that it is how you take it off, and the processes by which your body decides to use muscle rather than glucose/glycogen or fat as a food source are not efficient, and not particularly “nice”.
My advice would be “If you can`t do it dropping fat and water, don`t do it at all”.
I accept the weight bouncing affected RJJ significantly, but given the nature of his style, he was never far from coming undone the moment his athletic gifts waned in any way.
It was what mad him compelling for me – what he would do simply couldn`t be done by someone at anything other than the top of their game mentally and physically.Posted September 5, 2013 1:24 am
TARK says….”particularly when you compare Cotto’s performances against Judah, who he stopped — and Trout, who beat the bejabbers out of Cotto.”-But he doesn’t mention to you that there’s a difference between facing Championship level Fighters and NON Championship level Fighters. Judah faced the Championship level version of Cotto and SO did Floyd…..but Trout never DID. …SO there is yet another NON parallel comparison. When Trout finally faced a CHAMP he got BEAT. But Floyd ha beaten 10 CHAMPS in his last 12 Fights WOW!!!! Facing Championship level Fighters and defeating them is nothing NEW for Floyd. But it WILL be for Trout. ….that is IF he ever DOES it.Posted September 5, 2013 1:12 am
Floyd’s didn’t blow up in weight and then tried to quickly take it off by destroying his body so I doubt Floyd shows up like a ghost. There is always a chance of being over-trained and having an “off-day”, especially at that age.
Now if you are saying “anything” can happen, Yes, I agree. It only takes one solid timed shot in boxing.
Floyd could always get caught int he exchange. That’s how a lot of ATG have been put on their ass.Posted September 5, 2013 12:44 am
There were a list of former fighters Freddie Roach mentioned after the Oscar fight of other top level fighters that did the same as Roy and Oscar with losing weight by coming back down division(s) and were never the same.
You just don’t do it the way they did it. Not at that age.
I thought Chris Byrd look the worst out of all of them. At least Roy’s Ghost was bouncing in and out of his body. Chris was just gone. He must have trained in one of those Polish training camps.Posted September 5, 2013 12:39 am
From the Cotto fight you can learn a little bit about Floyd’s reaction speed… If you’re patient and sharp with the jab you can pop Floyd straight in the snoot with a well timed jab.. Cotto is very experience and very relaxed — but he didn’t have the same success against Trout.
From the Mosley fight you can learn a little bit about catching Floyd with a right hander.. If your shot is as sharp as the one that floored Trout you have a good chance of catching Floyd with it also.
From the Judah fight you can learn a little bit about scoring a knockdown over Floyd.. You have to be pretty fast and tricky.. You have to be alert and get a well timed shot in there.. Canelo also showed he’s capable of doing this by being the only man who ever floored the slick boxing Austin Trout … who Cotto never came close to decking.
Could Floyd deck the 171-pound Trout? … Well, did Floyd deck Guerrero??? … Cotto??? … Mosley??? … Judah??? … Baldomir??? … De La Hoya??? Any fighter on Trout’s level???
To me, Trout would be very hard fight for Floyd — particularly when you compare Cotto’s performances against Judah, who he stopped — and Trout, who beat the bejabbers out of Cotto.Posted September 5, 2013 12:39 am

Sorry sport fans had a typo in my last, CORRECTION; if the ref does not control all the armlocking, then we are going to have a bore of a fight, bottom line is all the armbars is the way chumpweather controls the momentum of the other fighter. Hatton was allowed to do the same crapp his entire career until the holding was taken away then lights out times twoPosted September 4, 2013 9:55 pm
Looks like anouther holdem hitem run, holdem holdem some more, pop pop shot run. Canelo needs a KO to win. LV and the politics of this sport is not going to give Canelo the win even if it is by a 4 round margin. Show time has may to much invested in the peanut collector and they are going to safe guard it. Now, question lies with the ref. Will the ref control all the arm locks tearweather does. My guess is yes and if yes, then its going to be a bore of a fight. If Canelo can let loose on the ropes and holding weather is held to a minimum, lights out .Posted September 4, 2013 9:49 pm

Cinnabum has to come in weighing his usual 174+lbs and develop the Boxing Skills of Miguel Cotto to even have a chance of surviving the fight.. otherwise Cinnabum gets TKO’d once he Gasses out like he did vs feather fisted trout..Posted September 4, 2013 8:12 pm
if floyd hasn’t aged too much, then he wins.(just has too many tools). however, if canelo can take mayweather’s shots in the early rounds, i predict a remafch.Posted September 4, 2013 7:21 pm
Canelo’s too slow footed, so no, not a real threat. To beat PBF you need a guy with fast hands and feet and great reflexes, workrate and stamina = you need a Jr.Middle version of RJJ or Joe Calzaghe. Thats why PBF ducked a prime Pacman, he had that speed, stamina, mobility and punch output.Posted September 4, 2013 6:45 pm

Sorry Boxtra, Roger was a puncher…Posted September 4, 2013 4:42 pm
Boxtra, what’s up?? Floyd was a puncher plain and simple, he didn’t fight in the Mayweather STYLE!!
Canelo PRESENTS the same PROBLEMS for Floyd that Chico Corrales PRESENTED for Floyd 12 years ago – power punching, crafty, relatively fast, , never been knocked down, UNDEFEATED with 30 KO’s; and WE KNOW what happened in that fight!!
Floyd WILL rise to the OCCASION and KO Canelo!!Posted September 4, 2013 4:42 pm
And Floyd is NO Roger. SO the comparison is NON parallel. Floyd is the BEST of All times. A Canelo WIN would be MUCH MUCH Bigger than Chavez’s WIN over Roger.Posted September 4, 2013 4:31 pm
Negative, Canelo is not a younger version of Chavez. That is ridiculous.Posted September 4, 2013 4:26 pm
Canelo stops FMJ!!! ” Flash back “….Chavez blows out Uncle Roger ” The Mexican Assassin” on July 7, 1985 in two rounds! And Chavez pummels Uncle Roger into quitting on stool, between rounds 10 and 11, during rematch on May 13, 1989!
The result of this match has predestine written all over it! And yes, Canelo is no Chavez…he is a better and younger version. And yes, Uncle Roger does train FMJ…bad habits soon to be exposed.Posted September 4, 2013 4:16 pm
