I think this fight and Burns last fight has shown he was extremely protected, guided and matched by Frank Warren… in both his last fights he has been shown to be wanting… He’s a brave man but he’s ripe for the tacking under Hearn… Hearn thought he’s got hold of the real deal…. but his last two fights have shown Burns will not be world champion for long… He should make Hay while the sun is shining on him… cos it will not be for long!!

Burns lost, but it isn’t the great robbery that everyone is making out. I had Beltran 114-113. I have seen much much worse decisions.
Beltran deserves a re-match but I am sure that a fully it Burns would box Beltran head off to be honest.

IT’S NOW TIME TO FOCUS our attention on these judges who are basically on the gravy train judging bouts around the world with no comebacks to their appalling scoring of fights, week in week out.

Where is the accountability for bad or should I say terrible scoring of bouts?

This coming weekend we have the WHOLE WORLD watching boxing’s showcase event: MAYWEATHER vs ALVAREZ backed up by MATTHYSSE and GARCIA.

Stanley Christodoulou was an exemplary boxing ref when I was growing up, but as a judge he scored the ALVAREZ vs TROUT bout 118-109 in favour of Canelo in a close bout!

How on earth did he score this contest in this way and most likely he will be given a pat on the back and more lucrative assignments in future!!!!!

People are raving about, arguing about, salivating about this boxing’s great match-up, but if this goes to points we are dealing in the ultimate subjective debate of Mayweather’s defence and counter punching vs CANELO’S aggression and more likely bigger punches.

Who will be tasked with judging this and what are their credentials to be charged with such a massive and important task???

The biggest bout in boxing could be marred by terrible judging……

Let’s hope this is not the case!

MATTHYSSE has been on the wrong end of two disputed points losses to ZAB and DEVON and now tries to KO his opponents and make the judges redundant….

BELTRAN from the Wildcard was robbed by judges after besting RICKY BURNS over 12….

WBO President has said that CRAWFORD is next, but has made no promises on BELTRAN getting first dibs from the winner!!!!!

If Ricky has to take time out to recover, what I see is CRAWFORD taking on BELTRAN and probably he will lose, when he should have been next in the ring as a defending World Champion.

Sad to say, I think that RICKY BURNS’ days at the top are numbered and he should have cashed out vs ADRIEN BRONER when the chance was there!

Froch won’t come to America after the cards were extremely kind to him against Ward in America, he lost the fight but I remember in the UK everyone’s shock at how close the judges scored the fight.

After last nt I can’t see Ward Froch happening, no way Ward will come to the UK especially seeing as this has happened on a Hearn promotion.

Froch even though the scored the last fight hugely in his favour, doesn’t want to fight in America again.

Did Hearn just turn into Don King last nt.

Boxing promoting politics at their very best.

Looking at the robbery last night, no wonder Froch and Hearn want Ward in the UK.

I like Eddie Hearn. He seems a very straight up kind of guy. Froch certainly likes him, which is a good sign. The interviewer is a bit of a fanny though.

Burns looked bad in his last fight but won fair and square. This fight he didnt he learned nothing from his last fight??Beltran been looking good in his last few fights…Burns hasnt so not so much of a shocker. The U.K. has had it tough last few months..Price..Clev…Burns.But to be fair the U.K. produces alot of good solid fighters for such a small part of the world. But never underestimate those mexican fighters, poor hungry bastards..lol.

Ricky fought with a Brocken jaw for 10 rounds, and is a top bloke,so he got away with draw…good.reading about going to the US for a fair shake don’t make me laugh..yet again a W in the column for the promoter

Scott Cardle got another useful win on the undercard as did “Stay at home” Jon Slowley.
Down south in England Ian Lewison got the Southern Area H/W title with a win over Tom Dallas & must surely defend against Dillian Whyte next.

It’s apparent that team Burns were very inteligent in letting the Vasquez fight fall though, as he would surely be title less by now anyhow!

SeanieP

Richie Davies the British judge got that decision so wrong never 114-114 the new uncrowned champ is Beltran, also Burns needs to stop fighting in jockland its holding him back lets see what he can really do abroad.

Brittards – tell your mum she left her kickers in the rugby club last night. We thought it was a parachute at first.

Tachyon must be on PEDs also. Makes u get rage and warmonger I hear LOL.

Ricky won that fight hands down, och eye. What fight was everyone watching?

Posted September 8, 2013 4:19 am

Mick the Marmalizer

Unfortunatly Ricky Burns has hiden behind the WBO & home town contests for far to long. If he wants any credibility then he has to start fighting overseas.

Posted September 8, 2013 3:57 am

P4P PECKHAM

All US based fighters are on PEDs!! Look at Bertrans massive head compared to Burns in the weign-in pics. The US is the most corrupt nation on the planet but have the cheek to call out all others on democratic, justice, rights issues. Pls take a look in the mirror and stop thinking you have a right to police everything!
I expect Obama will call for military action against Glasgow, it’s the only option LOL

Posted September 8, 2013 3:32 am

Hecdog

Beltran won the fight. The USA judge should be retired for good and they need to check his pockets and count the money he was given for the 115-112 score for Burns. Ridiculous!

Posted September 8, 2013 3:09 am

PEEJ

Yes Beltran could of continued what he did in the previous rounds. He pretty much took the 11th and 12th rounds off

Posted September 8, 2013 12:57 am

outcome no matter

Ricky Burns is a bum.

Beltran needs to go back to farming tacos and catching burritos

Posted September 7, 2013 11:11 pm

JoeKidd

Beltran could NOT have done anything more. The guy dished out a helluva beating! The scoring was very similar to the Pacquiao-Bradley fix where the judges pretended it was a close fight. Nothing close about this fight. The British commentators should be ashamed to make believe they were calling a close fight. The things people do for a living!

Posted September 7, 2013 10:05 pm

PEEJ

Beltran really has himself to blame. He didn’t work to much the last 2 rounds. Sometimes he would just stand in front close and not punch. He should of been punching his arms the. And Burns should if been warned and deducted a point or points

ufcdiesel

Eddie Hearn is the only winner from this. The fans were shafted, beltran was robbed, and boxing is back in the sewers. Hearn looked as guilty as a rapist in his post fight interview. All he mentioned was the bravery of burns due to his jaw injury. This is boxing not tiddlywinks! If burns has any integrity and honour he would come out and say the decision stank. This is playing with people’s lives. Hearn is a crook

Posted September 7, 2013 9:36 pm

Brittards

First Barker and now Burns. Lucky Kovalev won by KO or it would of been a clean sweep of corrupted scorecards across Britains fighters.

Posted September 7, 2013 9:30 pm

Jimbo

Ricky lost no doubt about that, but he never marked the score card, don’t matter what he says or doesn’t say it ain’t gonna change the result, the only positive that can come from the fight is that Beltran is guaranteed a re-match……also the referee who favoured Ricky should at the very least be made to watch the fight and score it again & explain to his peers how he came to that result, shocking piece of scoring ;( ,still I like Burns and will continue to support him.

Posted September 7, 2013 9:26 pm

Broner is mates with Chris Brown

GJ Burns you’re great but you lost – do a Bradley and watch the tape? Yeah you won for sure, wink wink nudge nudge – loser.

German title fights are NEVER domestic. You hardly ever see a German judge scoring a title fight. And if there is, only one. British boxing has become extremely corrupt.

Posted September 7, 2013 8:29 pm

anonymous

As bad as this decision was, it’s worth mentioning that unlike in the US or Germany where everything is domestic, the judges here were international and WBO-appointed. It doesn’t explain an awful decision but it does mean that this isn’t just some kind of hometown bias, it’s protecting a deeper interest.
