TheFactsNice prediction idiot. Posted September 16, 2012 5:58 amIts Me, ErnieThe great Teddy Atlas laying it out for you fools… Posted September 16, 2012 1:49 amboxing maniacMartinez will knock out Chavez late maybe by 10th Posted September 15, 2012 11:18 pmADChavez Jnr has been improving, but at this point we are still really rating him against a load of nobodies, and then decisioning Zbik, Rubio and stopping Lee. To be honest I`s expect Mathew Macklin, another pressure fighter to get the same result against those fighters, and Macklin proved his chops vs Sturm, and Sergio has already dealt with him. By the end of tonight it may well be that Jnr is rated down below the likes of Macklin if Martinez deaals with him more easily. Posted September 15, 2012 10:44 pmPitBull PetrillI agreed with my buddy B Red before I saw the title of this article: the fact of the mater is that anyone that Atlas predicts to win always loses. In short, find out who Teddy is going to pick and then pick the opposite guy. Posted September 15, 2012 10:23 pmSergioDaLoserSergio DaHomo was trying to kiss chavez, I think I saw him trying to kiss him after the weighting. He will try to do the same tonight, and be knock the hell out in return. I don’t thinks this fight is about fighting ability  Posted September 15, 2012 10:00 pmozzyI think Chavez will try to take Martinez out early however I think he’ll fail and Martinez will dominate the rest of the fight until Chavez is stopped. Have to say I’m not too impressed with how Martinez has acted in the lead up to the fight. Posted September 15, 2012 9:49 pmAnonymousChavez will not win, simple. Martinez 7th round KO. Posted September 15, 2012 9:34 pmGatorChavez is a good fighter, but too much is being made of his recent wins over Lee,Rubio,Etc.Who aren’t “world class” IMO. Huge step up for jr. Huge mistake Posted September 15, 2012 9:29 pmPatrick2Martinez has a soccer background (anyone who has played that sport knows the incredible endurance it takes) and is a fitness fanatic, so I don’t see him “gassing out.” Posted September 15, 2012 8:53 pmDon Quixotelefhook, you prolly right Posted September 15, 2012 8:46 pmWTF?Chicken Jr. showed up still looking gaunt for tonights fight, he’s DEAD… Posted September 15, 2012 8:40 pmlefhookB red.. How you man? i fancy Chavez in this one. i think he’s way underrated man.. Posted September 15, 2012 8:17 pmAnonymousI don’t get it – you started out by suggesting Sergio will win but at the end you suggest jcc will win. My take – although jcc surprised me against lee, I think Sergio will win tonight. Posted September 15, 2012 8:10 pmRay RayChavez will get a free lesson. Only thing I’m worried about is that Arum is involved. He’s a cheat, anything could happen Posted September 15, 2012 7:54 pmjimychavez looks totally drained. like him even less after seeing weigh in photos. Posted September 15, 2012 7:49 pmstrongmanMartinez hits from angles Chavez could never dream of.Chavez is suffering from a false sence of security in my view Posted September 15, 2012 7:41 pmstrongmanChavez Jr is only safe in the middle of the ring Martinez will capitilize on movement and balance shots if the fight is legit as far as the ref and scoring Martinez wil win BIG Posted September 15, 2012 7:37 pmalbezielSergio is better than Chavez Jr in every department, better offense, obviously better defense, is faster and more intelligent. Still I think Chavez Jr takes this because of size and the fact that he hits the body like a madman Posted September 15, 2012 7:33 pmB RedSergio could not him out inside 5 Posted September 15, 2012 7:30 pmFlippy Boo booDoes anyone know if Teddy Atlas has down syndrome ? He looks kinda retarded. Posted September 15, 2012 7:26 pmB RedSergio is going to beat the hell out of this young kid. Nazim is checking the gloves so the kid neglects traning with the weigh draining? i just hope he understands the fact that, stay out of boxing, because the brutal beat down hes going is not good for his future. ya dig Posted September 15, 2012 7:25 pmFighting WordsIf Chavez Jr. put pressure on Sergio for the first 6 rounds, Sergio will be gas in round 8. Sergio have not been getting the sparing in to go a good 12 hard rounds. According to the video, Sergio do not like sparing a lot of rounds to prepare for a fight, and I can see that working in Chavez Jr. favor. If the tank runs low on fuel, if you had all the horse power in the world under the hood and the best driver in the seat, it would not help, because no juice, no power Posted September 15, 2012 7:17 pmKentHoping for a good fight and Martinez wins it! Never seen Chavez look so thin at the weigh in. Martinez looked strong and very confident, like a man that knows the outcome because of his experience and skill. I feel the Martinez will be comfortable and too good! Posted September 15, 2012 7:07 pmRickAtlas also said Haye would beat Klitchco! He’s a great contrary indicator! Posted September 15, 2012 6:57 pmLikeISeeItChavez will probably trail on the scorecards but will have some success in spots. I think, however, that Martinez’s stamina will be the difference in this fight and he’ll start attacking more frequently after round 7, possibly even stopping Chavez in the later rounds. I think Chavez has only 6 – 7 rounds to make it happen… Posted September 15, 2012 6:55 pmRatMartinez said chavel never looked him in the eye, Martinez pictures don’t lie,he looked you right in your eye balls. And no confidence ? Right We see who is back up all night, Watch Martinez pride make him exchange before he box and weaken Chavez. Martinez has a habit of ducking down after a double counter, that exact when chavez counter works the body you can easily change a flying body hook to a down coming face., Martinez hate a close fighter, he have one from the starting bell, as chevez did say his only chance is to make Martinez exchange. Chavez by tko ,or its close decision Martinez. Posted September 15, 2012 6:32 pmProud AfricanHey Chavez, knock Sergio out. Posted September 15, 2012 6:26 pmAnonymoushagaha Patrick2I don’t know about that. While Martinez, generally, is not a one-punch KO artist, he has stinging power — power that deters fighters from walking him down, especially those who lack a good jab (like Jr.). Plus, Jr has, yet again, boiled down a LOT. If you think it affected Dawson last weekend (for the record, I don’t), watch what happens to Chavez this weekend (I suspect it will). Posted September 15, 2012 5:56 pmBoxtradamusAtlas is CORRECT. But to take it even further Chavez Jr. isn’t SKILLED enough. Plain and simple. Posted September 15, 2012 5:45 pmJVincyI think that JCC is too slow and predictable for about 8 rounds, and then he will suddenly start finding his mark repeatedly. Martinez gasses out and gets stopped. Posted September 15, 2012 5:44 pmrcaI’m going against the prevailing views. Martinez’s power is not sufficient enough to stop Chavez. Chavez will sacrifice being hit to get in his body shots. Martinez will be faster in the early rounds trying to avoid those vicious shots but his legs will give up from the pressure in the late rounds and the body shots will stop him. Posted September 15, 2012 5:23 pmikingLeonidasUh oh, I hope Teddy Atlas didnt just give Matinez the kiss of death! Posted September 15, 2012 5:18 pmRjHillWe most all think the same ,at least most of us objective thinking boxing fans. However boxing is a mano v mano sport and anything with good punchers can happen. But for betting puposes it will be a big gamble to put everything oneither fighter ,advantage Martinez. Posted September 15, 2012 5:12 pmExiled YankI think boxing needs to have two weights: the division weight limit and a fight night limit of a certain weight above the division weight. I can’t remember which fight it was, but recently to fighters made this part of their contract and I think it makes for good business. I never had much respect for PW as a fighter because he was always so much bigger on fight night, much like Margarito, both of whom could not compete at their more natural weight. Chavez Jr is the same way. He may bust people up at MW, and he may, somehow (with cheating) get lucky and beat Martininez, but if he were to fight at 168 or 175 where he belongs, he’d be finished for good. Posted September 15, 2012 5:05 pmThe KingslayerOh god Teddy’s now given Martinez his curse. Posted September 15, 2012 5:04 pmflash knock downI was feeling pretty good until I saw Teddy Atlas picked Martinez I have Martinez winning by knockout in the 11th round. Posted September 15, 2012 5:04 pmOllyHaha this is the one atlas will get right!!! Posted September 15, 2012 4:55 pmThe Real American OakI agree. B fighter at best wanting the A slot. Jr.is not athletic and certainly not the real deal. Posted September 15, 2012 4:47 pmPer Andersson2:15 … Posted September 15, 2012 4:46 pmPer AnderssonI think it will be quicker than that. Martinez will not gamble, there will not be any delayed progress because Sergio want him to suffer (witch he surely wants BUT), more important is to secure the win and he will stop Chavez at first opportunity. That will be at 3:15 in the fourth round :p Posted September 15, 2012 4:45 pmPatrick2Chavez Jr. = dead man walking. Posted September 15, 2012 4:34 pm |
