He’s ready for Mayweather too.

So did mayweather beat a 140 pounder like Ortiz ( sucer punch) and Marquez and did I ever read anything about that ? No … Ortiz lost to this 140 pounder!

How about Saul “Ginger Foreman” Alvarez? I swear he looks like a young Foreman in there. Even his demeanor, he just is like an emotionless assassin. No facial expression when the fight got stopped. Just turned and trotted away. Scary dude, Lopez looked like Frazier……Canelo doing it for real and with n

Fight-Like-A-Man

I’m a big fan of Lopez. When this fight was made he was to small for Alvarez and Golden Boy knew this . It’s sad how they use this guy to build up Alvarez ,because their was other fight for him at the time . Please don’t get me wrong Alvarez in the truth, but it was wrong for them to use Lopez the way they did. Win or lose I would pay to see Lopez fight because he FIGHT-LIKE-A-MAN Good Luck LOPEZ

Y’all both crazy what’s with the ignorance this has been the same thing everyone says and when it happens and canelo looses there’s some excuse

Damn all the BS Maidana should get the 100 Gz-he had the best stoppage. Alvarez beat a blown up Jr MW when they cou;d’ve let him fight K9 for a title unification match. This fight and the Chavez fight card was kinda the same just switch around-the Chavez Martinez was a good fight while the undercards no 1 cared about and the the undrcards on this fight were great on paper and good in the ring but this Alvarex fight showed nuthing to me. Alvarez hasn’t fought anyone @ all but I still love his combination and punch selection. Where is he though with guys like Baldimere, Hatton, an older Cintron and waay past it Mosely and oh yeah Gomez-how do we know anything about the guy

Great night of boxing for showtime. They definitely won the promotion battle with HBO. Canelo is one tough fighter. He still has areas to improve, but he seems to get better in each fight. I don’t think he’s far from fighting Cotto or even FM. Luckily DLH will put any fighter in his stable against FM in hopes of redeeming his loss to him. This is more than we can say about Arum.

Lopez caught Alvarez with some solid shots, but Canelo was just too big for him. I still like to see fighters from the same weight division fighting one another. All this moving up and down in weight is hurting boxing. That said, Canelo does have an impressive combination of speed and power, along with a diverse arsenal of punches. He’s on his way to the top.

I know Alvarez was originally down to fight Ortiz but Vic’s not a light-middleweight either so where is all of Alvarez’s proper opposition hiding?

Canelo looks like a Celt. I wish he’d learn to speak the Queen’s English :!:

Sergio dominated a much bigger, improved & dangerous jr,canelo did what he was suppose to do & defeated the much smaller jossesito.Jr had one of many paper belts canelo holds another.Sergio vs canelo make it happen. If not Sergio first it better be the dangerous Lara.

& boxtra you were so sure jossesito would upset canelo lol who do you think you’re fooling haha.Thought i had to call out & expose these 2faces.

i am not saying Lopez was winning the fight but Joe Cortez is a moron. The stoppage was way too early.

good card we got four fights for free. Canelo looked good. Time to face top dogs he is marinated. Don’t like the premature stoppages of Soto karass and Lopez though. Both were game and ready to fight. Seems alot of paranoid refs are pulling the plug nowadays.

All said & done at only 22 years of age Canelo is a future mega star & is gonna be around a long time. GBP’s may not have a lot of say in his next opponent unless they can get a voluntary defence or non title bout arranged. Erislandy Lara takes on Vanes Martirosyan in a final WBC eliminator on November 10th, so officially the winner of that (should) be his next challenger. Hopefully that fight happens early 2013 leading to a unification with the WBA’s Austin Trout/Miguel Cotto winner. Naturally PBF’s name crops up time after time, but I truely believe Ricky Hatton’s comeback is leading to a mega ca$h re-match with him, so I can’t see the ageing Floyd chancing a payday like that in the UK @ 140 or 147Lb to fight an up & coming hungry young hound like Alverez @ light middleweight. Give it 3 years & Canelo could well be the World #1 Lb4Lb!

LOL canelo beat a 142pound fighter lmao so he looked good beating up on lopez so what junior would woop that ginger ninja ….

TARK

Soto-Karass was done… Maidana was killing him at the end and it was a good stoppage and one of the most brutal brawls I’ve ever seen.. Steve Farhood is an idiot.. Maidana was dishing out the killing punishment, look at their respective faces.. Canelo has blazing fast hands and the punch variety of David Haye.. The red head could possibly shore up his defense a bit more, but I don’t see a lot of holes in his game.. He’s ready for Cotto..

Lopez got PUMMELLED. Please learn more about Defense.

Its Me, Ernie

How can he? Mayflower would never get in the ring with the likes of Canelo…

t-off

over matched no power at 154 ridiculous alvarez needs to fight his own weight class

Posted September 16, 2012 1:33 am

Maidana is pure warrior. But the fight was stopped too early. The guy proved all night he could take the shots and was continually hurting Maidana back, so give him the benefit of the doubt. Maidana’s shots at the ropes weren’t clean anyway and he was running out of gas. Might have knocked him out…or maybe not! 5 more seconds we would have known!

Maidana really boxed well. I’ve never seen him look so polished. Except for one round of course. But really, he boxed very well.

Don’t think so, Peej.Alvarez was tagging him with a lot of hard shots to the head and body. The lesser the damage the better. It was clear that Lopez could not handle Canelo’s power and that Canelo could withstand Josesito’s.

Moo moo child

Alvarez ” Cinnanon ” can knock out Mayweather

Posted September 16, 2012 12:52 am

Lopez has a bright future. Alvarez was just too powerful. I believe he could soak up Floyd’s shots and hurt Floyd with those murderous body shots. Shoulder rolls won’t stop those!

Posted September 16, 2012 12:47 am

Michael Katac

that was no suprise. Canelo gets all of this hype and he has not really beaten anyone except a bunch recycled contenders. They are spoon feeeding him just like Junior.

Alvarez vs lopez was a good fight. Lopez my hats go off to you. You came from 2 weight classes down and that\s who they matched canelo up with. You were overmatched from the get go and you did very well.

Canelo was gonna win by KO but that was a bad stoppage
