Lucas didn’t win sht.. I love the way Matthysses trainer got busted by the camera telling Lucas in spanish at the beginning of round 7 and round 11 to “push his (Dannys) head down, hit him in the back of his Neck, if you hit him in the back of his head, Good!, too bad” so much for Lucas team being so nice and honorable.. LOL. just go watch it again if you missed it.. I like Matthysee just did not like his corner telling him to fight dirty like that..

Funny how everyone keeps saying it was dirty tactics or a cheap shot against Ortiz but they say nothing about the flying head butt Ortiz threw which really is cause for immediate disqualification. Floyd just paid the favor back. Eye for an Eye. That is how it works in boxing.

Marquez didn’t land any lucky punch against Pac. Also punch stats mean nothing.

Ray – You talking about Sucker Punch Mayweather?? LOL now that was some pretty dirty sht against Victor Ortiz..

Lucas Matthysee was pushing down on Dannys Head the entire fight forcing many of those shots to stray low.. he was even warned by the Referee.. Lucas also landed many Rabbit Punches and Kidney shots.. but you guys are OK with that but want to dog Danny for Giving Lucas a taste of his own medicine and getting rough back?? This if a Fighting sport.. as the Famous Ricky Hatton showed Being Rough is part of the game and you Brits loved that dirty bum..

Ray – coming from the land that gave us Dirty Ricky Hatton, who elbowed and formed poor Kotza Tzu into a loss.. You would have an issue with fighters fighting rough.. LOL

You know this win by mayweather wasn’t as brilliant as other wins in my opinion don’t get me wrong he was on point and sharp as usual, but seeing the fight again it wasn’t a case of him being to good it was a case of Inexperiance on the part of Canelo, when he would feint Floyd at times he could have jumped right in the way cotto did and he didn’t, he didnt take the fight to Floyd the way that an experienced fighter would have Canelo has everything but the experiance to beat Floyd, but this fight was now or never, Canelo didn’t have another two years to gain the experiance caus than TMT wouldn’t have gave him the shot

Floks, in spite of the blatant low blows and the injury to Lucas eye, I think Garcia defense is legitimate. That is to say, reasonable judges could have seen Garcia winning this fight. Now, whether the result is just is a different thing.

I watched the fight 3 times, it does make a difference when you take the sound off because you can focus all your attention on counting who landed what punches, which is the only thing that matters when you are scoring a fight.

I had Matthysse clearly winning rounds 2, 3, 5 and 6 and Garcia clearly winning clearly, 4, 8,9, 11. The rest of the rounds are very close. With Garcia landing more combos and Matthysse landing more power punches.

People need to understand how the”expectation game” is played and . Garcia came into this fight was the underdog and with very low expectations. That is to say, people expected so little from Danny that they are willing to give him points just for withstanding Matthysse’s assault but that is not how fights are scored.
Again, I am not calling ths a robbery, but this was no dominant performance by garcia, itr was an extremely close fight that could have gone either way had it not been for the fact that we all know that Lucas Matthysse cannot win a fight on points in the USA.

Brit Boxing

actually, this Squared-Circle Real Talk fellow is spot on. Lucas Matthysse won that fight and deserved to get the decision. it was just another common robbery in the US where foreign fighters get robbed all the time…

what else can we expect from fights held in the US that involve American fighters at this point?

S. C. fake talk……you’re in the minority of folks who cant get over the fact their man lost to Garcia of all people. Well, believe it. Matthysse got a smack down Saturday. The invincible myth is smashed forever and lucas, he’s now a three time loser in big fights.

PE- I only wish that Danny would try half that crap ( headbutts, Danny “lowblow” Garcia) on Mayweather. I hope just fun Mayweather takes on Danny and then when Mayweather schools him, I too can call him ” a hype up” fighter like you when you talk about Canelo. Get back on your meds, quickly.

Public E.., You’re full of it.. Anybody can lose.. That’s a fact.

Canelo looked amazingly weight drained, but still caught Floyd with some good shots to the leg.. That one to the quadriceps was brilliant.. OUCH!! Floyd had to work that one out for a while and was still limping after the fight.

Canelo also caught Floyd with a hard combination to the head Saul didn’t follow up on—I guess he was limiting his expenditure of energy—since he didn’t have any. Canelo also had a stupid game plan and you can blame Oscar De La Hoya for it, “You gotta jab… Gotta jab… Gotta jab… Gotta jab.”

The smartest thing Floyd did was the catch-weight—but he would have won if the fight were held at 154. You can’t fault Canelo as an opponent because he would beat anyone else at super welterweight except Floyd. But Floyd isn’t just the world’s best fighter… He’s probably the GOAT.

Well Canelo was the biggest fight for the bucks. But he didn’t have the goods and Oscar knew it. His feet are to slow, and what fight was the judge watching those round were not even close.. Total mismatch , To beat Mayweather you need a pure all around fighter with a much hand speed and stamina like a prime sugar ray robinson.

Squared-Circle Real Talk (a.k.a. The Lion King of Beat Street)

This time, watch the Garcia vs. Matthysse fight with the SOUND OFF and you’ll see that LM won 7 out of 12 rounds. The American commentators were hyping Garcia and over praising every little thing he did.

CompuBox shows that LM landed WAY more power shots throughout the fight. The knock down was questionable, and LM was easly winning the round up until that point. But even if you scored that round 10-8 for DG, that extra point was lost when the ref later deducted a point from DG for low blows. Yes, it was a close fight, but LM deserved the nod for landing WAY more power shots and winning 7 rounds.

I was NOT impressed with all of Garcia’s holding, clinching, low blows and head-butts. LM DESERVES a rematch vs. Garcia. Real talk.

TARK

It was an exhibition of the sweet science by one of the masterboxers of the 21st Century—who gave up 15 pounds and 13 years—and comprehensively beat the best super welterweight in the world.

Like a lot of Mayweather fights, the fight wasn’t as close as the scorecards. Inexplicable and puzzling—since this fight was in Floyd’s hometown—and he was fighting a foreign national who doesn’t speak English.

What gives with the scorecards???

There would be dancing in the streets of Mexico and Argentina if their men won… But the two American heroes won—and the excitement was muted.

Nobody gets too amped up when an American athlete wins—because it’s like Tuesday morning at 5AM and the newspaper is here on time… nice, but nothing to get too excited about.

It’s when Mayweather loses that all Hell will bust loose. If that ever happens.

If it wasn’t a “beat down” is was certainly a slap around bordering on child abuse.
