martinez v Pacquiao? You r an idiot & should stick to wrestling (MMA). Have u seen the size difference of the 2? Idiot!

As they both started out @ 122 to 130 pounds, make the fight @ 140 – easy as that ! If FMJ can’t lose the muscle, do it @ 147. If FMJ still can’t lose the muscle, forget MP & move up & fight at 154 & stay there. Anyone know why Floyd is doing weight training???

FLOYD SHOULD DEMAND BLOOD TESTING BEFORE THE BELL RINGS IN EVERY ROUND JUST TO MAKE SURE PACMAN IS NOT ON PEDS.

FLOYD SHOULD OFFER PACMAN USD750,000 WITH NO PPV SHARE AND HIS PURSE WILL BE LESSEN IF HE WIGHT OVER 140 POUNDS.

HE SHOULD ALSO DEMANDS THAT PACMAN WILL NOT USE HIS LEFT HAND BUT ONLY RIGHT HAND AND LIMITED TO 3 JABS ONLY FOR EVERY ROUND. A VIOLATION OF SUCH COULD COST PACQUIAO A MANDATORY EIGHT COUNT.

HE SHOULD ALSO DEMAND THAT WHEN THE BELL RINGS, PACMAN SHOULD STEP AT THE CENTER OF THE RING AND WILL NOT MOVE HIS FEET FORWARD AND BACKWARD, STANDING STILL WITH 3 RIGHT JABS EVERY ROUND. VIOLATION OF SUCH IS AGAIN AMANDATORY EIGHT COUNT.

FLOYD SHOULD ASK THE JUDGES, WHEN HE SCORES A PUNCH, IT WILL BE 11 NOT 10, BUT IF PACQUIAO SCORES A ROUND, 10 ONLY.

THE FIGHT WITH THESE CONDITION IS 100 PERCENT POSSIBLE.

Martinez and his Team ALREADY offer the P4P Mr.EXCUSE a catchweight of 150 pounds and 80% of the purse but Mr.DUCK took on the Mother of his Kids instead and won an ESPY for that, Chavez junior will at least make the 150 weight but will inflate to 175 pounds at fight night which is within the Boxing RULES, but Mr.DUCK would rather take on a CRIPPLE Cotto who he already beaten and who is STILL promoted by Bob Arum or on a 135 pounds Guerrero.

Other than the author, we all know muscles don’t win fights. But the fact that Money May has left jail with more muscle mass than he came with, means he probably made the most of his stay. This is good news for Mayweather, and bad news for those that hoped he left jail with a gimp or worse. Money will now, hit the gym and be in fighting shape in no time. I guess this means we’ll be hearing more excuses from the Bob Father.

Posted August 5, 2012 8:58 pm

Bit of a strange article, PBF has been in jail so he has hit the weights gym and packed on a bit of beef, training for a big fight gonna be very different he will run circuit train etc so some of that bulk will obviously go. I also dont see the writers connection between boxers muscle mass and being able to fight and win !! Many of the latino fighters are not very muscular in build but boy can they fight. Also look at heavily muscled fighters like Frank Bruno suffered from huge lactic acid build up. Sure ripped arms and a six pack look impressive does it make a fighter better stonger I dont think so but thats only my opinion.

ArguingWithIdiots

lol, let us see, if the God Father Arum lets Manny fight Mayweather with full OSTD’s. I doubt he will, he’ll come up with another excuse, lie, and cheat. Arum holds all the strings until Manny mans up and drops Arum like a hot potato, just like all the good fighters he has eventually do. Be assured, Arum won’t let Manny lose to a fighter he doesn’t have options on. Arum’s track record proves that, beyond any reasonable doubt.

what the hell does muscle matter in boxing, it will only make him slower, i guarantee once he trains as a boxer does he will be in the same shape as before. I want that chump to take on the best and stop his cherry picking,”A La Manny”.

Floyd wants the winner of Chavez vs Martinez of course at a CATCH WEIGHT of 150. Can you imagine big ass Chavez trying to make 150. and Floyd knows Martinez will be weak at 150. Typical Floyd cherry picking.

Posted August 5, 2012 12:25 pm

If that is the case, then Bradley should of destroyed Pac. Bradley is in better shape than Floyd. Muscle means nothing in boxing except it tends to make guys tired and fade with all the lactic acid.

Agree. The bulk will diminish once he resumes his normal regiment. The pic was probably for promotional purposes which is a good marketing ploy for continuing interest in Mayweather. Good tactic on his behaif.

Bad article, some one who wrights this must either be a fan boy or ignorant of the sport.
All that muscle might very well end op hurting mayweathers speed and stamina. And there is no guarantee it will result in a significant gain in power.

Add to that a bad diet and limit and poor exercises and its far to early to tell

Jailboy loverboy always say that Pacquiao is no way can defeat their mascular idol. They forgot to consider first if ther jailboy testicle are already mascular to take the fight. If their idol balls is only as big a chihuahua balls no way that this jailboy can defeat Pacquiao. Pacquiao was already defeated by their idol long ago by their own imagination.

Floyd can balloon to a muscular heavyweight but the size of his cojones stays the same or even shrinking when faced with the prospect of facing the Pacman. The trash-talking lying ducker wil never fight Manny.

sure Floyd looked a lot better against Marquez then Paquiao did,but how about comparing Paquioa’s performance against Hatton or De La Hoya with Floyd’s performance against Hatton or De La Hoya? if i recall,Floyds fight with Oscar was a split decision.even comparing their fights with Cotto? i would say Paquiao’s performances out shined Floyd’s.

Pacquiao could never beat Mayweather. Not in a million years. Every single time, he would lose. From a stylystic point of view, the best Pacquiao can hope to achieve is to touch Mayweather up a bit more than we expect. It’s funny because when you talk about how Pac was exposed against Marquez in their last fight, Pac fanboys push it aside saying that it doesn’t matter because Floyd is a southpaw, so it will be a whole different thing. The problem is, before Pacquiao fought Marquez for a third time, he was considered much greater than he is. Everyone, and I mean everyone thought Pac would WALK THROUGH Marquez in their third fight. Now it just so happens that on the day of the weigh in, I was shocked at how muscular Marquez had become (bigger than Pacquiao). I had heard of it during the camp, but i didn’t really see it that clearly until the weigh in. When I saw that weight in, I told friends of mine straight up that Pacquiao will be eating leather in this fight. I told them it was not a fight to miss, which was a big change from my previous position that Pacquiao would walk through him. So that’s one case where muscle does help a fighter. Marquez is clearly the more skilled boxer, so he needed the muscle to make the size difference even. Anyway, Pac was exposed on that night, and his invincibility aura was gone forever. Immediately, the Mayweather fight became less significant. Before, I thought Pac might have a chance. Now, I am convinced beyond any doubt that he does not. The southpaw/orthodox issue is irrelevant. Basically, Pacquiao isn’t as great as we thought he was, so Mayweather’s overall skill level will surely overwhelm Pacquiao. I saw some clown in an article saying Pac would throw a 1000 punches against Mayweather. Well that’s not happening. Look at punch stats in his fights. He throws significantly less against Marquez and Bradley. Expect the same with Mayweather, for fear of what would be coming back if he were to open up. I am a big Pac fan, and was a fan before all these Pac fanboys. I was a fan when he was still selling fruit on a boat in the Philippines, and that’s for real. But this boxing game is a sport, and a very technical one at that. All signs point to clear Mayweather decision win. And no, Mayweather isn’t knocking him out. It’s simply not happening.

Posted August 5, 2012 5:51 am

Rocky

Since when did muscles make you a better fighter . ????

Posted August 5, 2012 5:23 am

Wess

Because Floyd won’t ever agree to a 50/50 split that Pac is asking for.
And rightfully so, Pac has no claim whatsoever to a 50/50 anymore.

Mayweather’s personality and behaviour may be questionable, but his boxing skills, IQ and greatness are not.Worthless article. What’s happening to this site? How can someone with even an inkling of interest in boxing think that May’s extra bulk from jailtime will help him improve as a boxer? May can’t improve now, he is the worlds most complete fighter, he can only adapt his style for his age. It’s sad when people are blind to greatness…

Posted August 5, 2012 5:15 am

It was never an issue of him beating manny just an issue of how? Points, stoppage, ko. I’d like 2 c him take on Alvarez than Martinez. He has business with Chavez jr 1st

Whats burpees?

Posted August 5, 2012 4:15 am

Nothing important , it is just the sign of bulking because of the lack of cardio training that he does outside regulary… So the muscles will shrink when he start preparing for the next fight but he did the right thing that he trained something inside better than nothing I Would do the same.

This one of the most horible article I read so far in this website and I am a regular visitor for more than 9 years…how can you write about boxing and be so naive like this is beyond me… Everyone can build muscles if they train with weights or any other workouts that pump muscles especially fit athlete who don’t have any fat like mayweather but that don’t make you a better boxer if it did than Olympian bodybuilders would become boxing champions and they would dominate. The main goal for a boxer is to have a good conditioning ,stamina endurance and power, and also btw the author says now mayweather will have to drain himself to reach 147 limit …???its called losing weight while training for a fight , its just like saying hatton has drain himself from recent 200 weight to 154..?

Burpee’s do more than just add muscle, they burn fat, and as stamina as well.

Perhaps Mayweather was doing burpee’s and makeshift bar dips. At least he was smart enough to do something to keep in shape while in the pin.I guess he’s still proved that he’s content on staying in shape whether he’s fighting or not.

Mayweather’s edge in overall skill and especially defense will win him the Pacquiao fight, though Manny shouldn’t be counted out even if he will deservedly be the underdog. If Floyd’s pal 50 cent wants to make a splash in boxing getting the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight done would be the way to do it.

Posted August 4, 2012 10:01 pm

And lets not forget, Pac doesnt have anymore power. He fades in the later rounds, gets weaker, punches himself out in the early rounds, then has no more energy for the later rounds.

Muscle don’t win a fight speed does. Jailboy gain weight that will affect his movement. His jail vacation will also affect him psychologically/mentally.. i don’t remember a fighter who experienced a vacation in prison become more successful of coming back.

Posted August 4, 2012 9:32 pm

But if he had that size, and strength he may have been able to manhandle cotto a bit more. More muscle is always good if you know how to balance speed and power. Floyd knows what to do with it.

then why is he all chicken up to fight pacquiao, it doesnt make sense

Posted August 4, 2012 9:31 pm

No its cuz of Juan’s defense, and countering. Floyd was slow against Ortiz, but he got FAST AS HELL Against Cotto. Cotto’s bigger than Floyd, but Pac is smaller than Floyd. And kind of clumsy and dumb. No one is Knocking out Floyd except Martinez. Pac couldnt even drop little Bradley who is a Jr WW, That got dropped by Holt.

packing on muscle wont make his chin better and would just slow him down….i believe the pacman vs mayweater fight will be made; sadly, after they are both past their primes….probably in 2-3 years just to generate alot of money and suck their popularity before they officially retire.

Posted August 4, 2012 9:29 pm

he needs to get away of 147 quickly because he knows pacquiao cant go any further up in weights, hes safe up there at 154

If Mayweather is more muscular after going to prison it means he had been lifting weights. If the guy quits lifting weights then he would lose any muscle he just put on. What is the big deal?

I think Mayweather has proven that he’s been more than a speed fighter. Sure he relies on his reflexes, but his overall technique is what sets him apart from most.

Posted August 4, 2012 8:42 pm

As far as I know, Boxers that come back after jail terms, (other than Hopkins) end up losing pretty quick. Ayala, Krikland, Tyson, and Etienne are a few that come to mind. But then again in Mayweather’s case, he was only there for 60 days. For all I know, it could have done him good.

Mayweather would wipe the floor with Manny with or without muscles if Bradley and Marquez beat him and Floyd is 10x better than both…

Floyd’s thing has always been his speed. speed kills. the added muscle mass may actually slow him down?

unless Floyd added the muscle on his chin,i still say Paquiao knocks him out. Paquiao has always had trouble with Marquez. this is because of Juan’s style, not his muscle mass.
