De Lima I.

Hayemaker — sorry, I forgot to reply.

Yes I know that he bulked up to 220 for Valuev and other fights — that’s why he was so much slower. 210 is a much better weight.

when you schedule to fight only once a year, then pull out of half those fights with injuries, he needs to either fight with injuries or retire. that, by the way, is the worst suture job i have ever seen. the surface stitches are pulling the cut together, rather poorly. there should have been subcutaneous stitches to hold it together, then twice as many, finer stitches on the surface to match up the edges. haye couldnt have afford a decent doctor? it may have changed my mind about socialized medicene….

Haye is always backing out of fights and delaying for exorbitant amounts of time. I wish he would actually go through with something he says he’s going to do cut or no cut. It’s not the fans’ fault that he behaves in such psychotic ways. We should at least get a firm commitment of when his doctors say he can fight again.

Schoolboy error by Haye camp sparring hard this close to the fight.Nasty cut though, probably at least 6 weeks to be safe, even then it’ll be easy to open up.But for all the muppets on here that are saying Haye did it on purpose,GTFOH,are u really that stupid? Haye took this this fight for the money, and he knew he’d blow Fury away within 6 rounds.Let’s face it,if and when the fight happens, and Haye destroys Fury, you’ll all be saying,”so what?Fury was a bum, doesn’t add any value to Hayes resume”….

couple of very funny quotes about haye on yahoo sports site:

and

“It’s a fight in itself to get Haye into the ring. Even against this tomato can.”

I would have bought that ppv even though i’d have felt a bit of a sucker in doing so. For some time now Haye has been milking Sky Sports subscribers and British boxing fans alike with his on again off again relationship with boxing. The injury to Haye is unfortunate it’s a good matchup to be fair, hopefully the fight will take place before the end the year.

Firstly; Johnny B. Good DUDE LEARN TO SPELL. Is there a course on spelling for morons like yourself ‘Ingland?’

2. Go to sky sports boxing and watch the Haye interview. His emotions seem very strange …

3. My feeling is that Haye put himself in harm’s way deliberately. Not that he tried to get cut (and fyi you non-boxers one can be cut even with a helmet) rather, he was in a fatalistic mode, “if a knee blows or a cut comes … then it does.” That sort of thinking.
David Haye is and has been for years on anabolic steroids, the affects of which diminish as one ages. My guess is that steroids didn’t provide the ‘lift’ they normally bring to DH and he started dropping his guard, figuratively and literally.
My guess is that this fight won’t be ‘rescheduled’ before 2014 if ever.
Beyond that, I propose that news will soon arise about Ol’ Dave (and others) which will derail or even end, his ‘amazing’ career.

Is there a course on common sense in Ingland ? It should be mandatory for fighters like Haye and Cleverly.

What happens now? Re-arranged? Haye pulled out against Charr too.

Posted September 21, 2013 1:33 pm

At this late in the preparation Haye should ne sparring with a headguard. Only himself to blame.

Posted September 21, 2013 1:22 pm

So Haye is ducking Fury now. He also ducked Charr. And Vitali. He should retire now.

I remember about a month ago I commented on an article written about Haye &Fury fighting, and I said something like..yeah the fight is a nice thought, but we all know one of them will be injured in camp and it will get postponed or cancelled. Big surprise. Haye hasn’t fought in over a year as it is. wouldn’t be shocked if it took him another year to get things going again….I’m quickly losing interest. to much talk, not enough action.

This is very disappointing — but you cannot fight with a cut like that.

Posted September 21, 2013 12:07 pm

Adrian

Well now by the sredmond standart and those who say lewis beat vitaly because he cut him
Bad this guy that cut haye must be a better opponent for fury right? Lol …
Was the cut from a punch or what ?

This is an example that you should never judge fights based on cuts ,injurys but base on who was a better boxer and who landed more ….

This gives Fury a way out. Watch him run now and this fight will never happen.

Cuts happen, its part of boxing. Its very easy for keyboard idiots and thats what they are who slag off Haye for pulling out of a fight because he was cut. Clearly this keyboard idiots have never boxed. A cut like that above the eye is easily opened and makes Hayes job very difficult. I feel for both fighters. It’s just one of these freak things..

Posted September 21, 2013 11:36 am

Millwalllion…Thanks…He was cut by a eastern euro not a big name, not one of his more famous sparring partners.Makes me think aswell if this guy could land this kind of shot so prehaps could Fury in the fight.I picked Haye to win like most, but also felt if Fury could get past the 4th or 5th round he had a very good chance of pulling off the upset. And again dont think Haye thought he had this in the bag, because if he did he wouldnt have risked so much so close to the fight…IMO.

This is disappointing, and too short notice for Fury to have a meaningful fight with anyone. Had Haye got cut a few weeks earlier we might have gotten a Wilder vs Fury clash. That said perhaps someone like the game Charr could step in and take on Fury.

haye was looking to duck tyson fury any way possible this fight will never happen

Posted September 21, 2013 11:22 am

ROBBIE T

Haye’s going to get knocked out by Fury, and he knows it too! Thankfully for Haye this cut may have allowed him to celebrate a good Christmas meal with his family before his week stay in hospital.

Posted September 21, 2013 11:21 am

Mr Gav

First haye did not do this on purpose he has a chance to make millions and get himself back into title contention against a fighter he should beat without too much of a problem. The question is when will the fight happen? October may be to early for hayes injury to recover and in November groves and froch are on sky sports box office so its unlikely sky will ask for 2 box offices in one month, so December looks good but that can be shifted to early next year. For fury he has had an excellent camp and his fitness has peaked so he will want to be in that shape again for the fight so fight may take time to happen. I would like too see fury fight next week any bum will do to let out fury’s frustration hopefully audleys in town.

ESB KnuckleDragger

Excuses, excuses. Haye is a coward, afraid to fight with a cut, pfffttt.

Posted September 21, 2013 11:10 am

boxing barlow

Apparently he stubbed his back toe and tripped and hid his head on the door which caused the cut. That bad toe is going to be Haye’s downfall.

Posted September 21, 2013 10:59 am

Why was he doing such heavy sparring only a week before such a huge fight??Was he atleast wearing head gear thats suppose to stop these kind of cuts in sparring?? I guess he wasnt taking Fury so lightly then I guess he knew it was going to be alot tougher then most fans thought.Otherwise why the hardcore sparring so close to the fight. If this happened to Fury alot of people would be saying the big clown is getting sparked in sparring.I just hope they can get this fight back on again and Haye dont wait beyond a reasonable time like I would suspect. And I really hope if this happens Fury beats him hes much better for boxing then toe man Haye.

Posted September 21, 2013 10:54 am

wow, this haye is something. It took him years to box wlad and then he pulled the the baby toe excuse. Hopefully Fury can find a replacement at a pub.

David Haye is the master of spoiling his own momentum. I’ve never seen anything like it. He’s cancelled more fights then he’s had in the last 5 years. A cut is a cut but still its always something with this guy. What a waste of my time David Haye is.

This is what happens when both teams take so long to set up a bout. It took them almost a half year. All they need is 8-10 weeks max. The heavyweight division’s really in the doldrums.
