Cotto’s problem in this fight won’t be his age or ring wear, it’s going to be his size. Rodriguez has too much height and length and has decent enough foot speed that Cotto will have all sorts of problem getting in, and when he does Delvin has quick enough hands and decent enough power to nullify Cotto’s inside game. I expect Cotto to look bad in this fight. Delvin wins it comfortably.

THE COTTO WHO IS FIGHTING AIN’T THE COTTO HE WAS WHEN HE FOUGHT MAYWEATHER, HE JUST DOESN’T HAVE MUCH LEFT, HE’S A SHADOW OF HIS PAST .. THIS IS A PRESSURE FIGHT , A MUST WIN FIGHT , IF HE LOSES THIS ONE YOU’LL HEAR MANY REFER TO HIM AS COTTO WHO? IF HE EVER THINKS ABOUT CONTINUING IN THE GAME???
i WISH HIM MUCH LUCK IN THIS FIGHT BECAUSE THAT’S THE ONLY CHANCE I’M GIVING HIM ! PEACE

PE – don’t kid yourself..whatever Canelo tried against Mayweather that didn’t work will definitely work on Cotto and I know you don’t doubt it for a minute..Lol!..Mayweather is a gifted athlete with speed and reflexes that compliant his ring intelligence..Canelo’s offense and defense would be much more effective against Cotto for a mid to late round tko IMO..

How tall is Rodriguez? Cotto looks like an Umpa Loompa standing next to him.

On paper, this should be an easy nights work for Cotto. No disrespect to delving,he’s a good fighter, just not in Cotto’s league, but having said that, the size and reach disadvantage will be similar to what Cotto faced in Trout. While Delvin is somewhat more leaden of foot than Trout,he does pack a wallop.Possible upset, but i’d still bank on Cotto to deliver via unanimous points win.

But cotto is still fighting Better more Dangeorus opponents then Chavez Jr. and Canelo until he was B’slapped for 12 humiliating Rounds by Mayweather.. He also gave Mayweather the toughest fight of his career, per Mayweather himself..

No. Delvin doesn’t have the Talent. Cotto does, depending on which version of Cotto shows up.

Exactly. Unlike Mayweather, an atg, Cotto does not have the elite skills to outbox a much bigger fighter. And, at 154, his punches lack the power they had at 140 , when he was at his most dangerous. Trout practically schooled him. He can’t hang with the top 154lb fighters.

anonymous – laugh all you want, but Hidalgo is correct. Yuri Foreman is “legit” 154 pound fighter…..and you can consider Margarito one as well. What you probably meant to say is an “Elite” 154 pound fighter.

Cotto like Paquiao and even Mayweather are small Welterweights.. their best weight is at 147lbs.. At 154lbs they’re really taking on guys that normally weigh over 170+lbs like Canelo and Delvin…

Rodriguez doesn’t do well against great fighters, when push comes to shove Rodriguez has dout. Cotto will win a good fight.

“Cotto’s never beaten a legit 154lb fighter” How about Yuri Foreman?

Cotto’s never beaten a legit 154lb fighter, and won’t. Rodriguez is a convenient can to set up in front of him tonight to give the illusion that Cotto could be a real champ at LMW

After looking at that Youtube clip of Freddy and Cotto working the Mits and Body I just don’t see how Delvin can survive a few of those Body shots.. I’ve not seen Cotto look this strong since his pre MargaCheato Days.. looks like Fredd and Cotto may be a good Partnership..
