You mean this is worse than Ali/Clay fighting against an 48-yro Archie Moore, 191 lbs?

Unfortunately I think Povetkin will beat old man Rahman, and then search for another cherry-pick… If he fought Haye he would get streched out cold in 2 rounds.

That KTFO through the ropes was EPIC. One of my favorite knockouts ever.

With all honesty, I want HASIM to KTFO that Pus Povetkin. But if he does…Will he become Vladimir’s MANDATORY??? I don’t want no Vlad-Rahman II

There are signs up all of Russia. “Lost, Povetkins balls, if found please return to pudgy bowl-headed pudding last seen losing to Huck. Reward : One phony Belt”.

Championship fight? Wtf?!!! What belt is this? The interim what?!! This guy Povetkin flat out gave up his no1 ranking rather than get his beating vs Vladimir- no wonder when you look at what Huck did to him.

One fighter I who amazed me when he beat Rahman twice by late KO.. Oleg Maskaev.. No chin, no speed, very little boxing skill, and a sitting duck for Ollie McCall, Goofi Whitaker, Sam Peter, and Kirk Johnson.. But he ran Hasim out of ring.

But Povetkin reminds me of Kali Meehan and Shawn Miller—the way he eats right hands.. Povetkin has a much stronger offense than those guys, and will probably run over Rahman in a few rounds — but it only takes one hard shot to get a guy out.. I’ll give Rahman an outside chance.

Rahman should have retired after his loss the Wladimir Klitschko. Rahamn are way past it.

Povetkin is a very poor boxer who does poorly vs right hand punchers. This is why he twice rufused millions of dollars to fight Wladimir Klitschko. He knows he would have been wrecked like Calvin Brock, but even worse. Even Huck beat the crap out of Povetin with right hand shots. If it weren’t for the referee running in every 5 seconds—often when Huck had a hand free or there was no clinch at all—Huck would have knocked Povetkin out. Povetkin barely survived and the decision was a robbery … Against Haye or the K Bros Rahman wouldn’t have the chance of a snowflake in Hell. He has a 15% chance because Povetkin is wide open for right hands. Rahman was selected as a safe cherry-pick and has little chance. But I’d like to see him pull off a preposterous upset … just because Povetkin is the lamest cherry-picker of all time.

flash knock down

This is not a real fight this is just to add Rahman’s name to his resume.

Says it all about the standard of the division today that a guy like Rahman is still competing at the ‘elite’ level at 39 years of age, whilst decent – George Forman he was not.

To me there are two questions marks? How much does Rahman have left? And how good is Alexander Povetkin? Both will be answered I believe.

Michael Katac

It all depends on which Rahman shows up. If Rahman is in shape and focus he is a very live underdog and has a punchers chance. I think Rock knows this will be his last chance. The jury is out on the quality of Povetkins chin. Huck gave Povetkin hell and he is a cruiser. Rahman is a big strong heavyweight who can punch. And the last thing a puncher loses is his power. If rhamn shows up for a paycheck it will porbably be a boring decision or mid rounds stoppage for Povetkin.

Thats a cute picture of Rahman

SREDMOND

Another HW matchup that is barely worth the text it took to write the story…. Rahman has been getting knocked out for years and Povetkin is constitutionally opposed to stepping up his level of competition……. SNORE

Father Time is an opponent that no man can beat. Hasim Rahman seems like a pretty nice guy but I’m picking Alexander Povetkin to win a UD.

The 39 year old former undisputed and two-time Heavyweight Champion of the World Hasim “The Rock” Rahman (50-7-2, 41 KOs) is back in action? Well I truly hope it is what his team members says becouse this will be Hasim Rahman’s absolutly final “world title” fight unless it ends up in a close decision or in a highly disputed way. If it is like they say I will even more look forward for this fight becouse they have a true point, all fights we have counted Rahman out, he have proven the opposite and Rahman haves the tools to put on a contest against 33 year old and undefeated Alexander Povetkin. Povetkins will be better in the ring and haves almost same tools but he haven’t counted out Rahman becouse he knows that Rahman got long time ring expearence, heavy punch-power, streanght and a heavy jab so if Rahman is fired up, Povetkin must count in those things or an upset will be made. They are close in sice with Rahman being 189 cm tall and Povetkin is 188 cm but Rahman has reach advantage with his 208cm against Povetkin’s 191cm so 16cm in advantage for Rahman! No to the matter of a “world title fight” becouse it is like we all know, NOT A WORLD TITLE FIGHT!!! Wladimir Klitschko is the true world heavyweight champion with having all major world title belts (Lineal, WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO) including the true WBA title and only his older brother Vitali haves the WBC belt, making him as the 2nd possible recognised world champion. I hope Rahman wins becouse I have been a longer time fan of his boxing career and wish he could get an good end of it and the fact that Povetkin have disspapointed many of his fans and the man who was supposted to fight Wladimir in the end of 2008 have ducked Wladimir Klitschko for 4 years now witch is sad for a fighter of his possible calibur to bring on an interesting fight and Povetkin haven’t showed any interest in fighting the real champ and that is just sad for all.
