Frankie was his own worst enemy Joseph but he was a boxer to his core. Leal lost by KO or TKO 4 or 5 times in his career. That’s a lot of KOs. The year before his death he had to be carried out on a stretcher and hospitalized after Gradovich starched him. From March 2012 to October 2013, he fought six times, then died after his fight with Hirales. The guy took way too much punishment. His head lost too many wars over the course of his career.

I don’t recall Bruce saying anyone egged Frankie on to continue fighting after his KO loss to Gradovich. Frankie was only 26 when he died. Who knows, maybe the only way he knew how to fight was to fight to his death. So to speak.

I was surprised about that as well, Ted.

Bruce and I had an interesting conversation about Frankie Leal on the air, and I thought it was interesting how he blamed Frankie for his own death…saying that his decision to fight was almost suicidal.

I have to agree with him.

A lot of people will blame the industry, but our fighters decide their own fate. So many managers and promoters will try to protect the fighters from theselves, but at the end of the day, the fighters have the final say regarding their career.

What do yo guys think?

Kid Blast

Why is there nothing about the tragic death of Frankie Leal on this thread?

Yeah Joseph. Austin Trout. Definitely.

Hidalgo, how about Nonito? Maybe Austin Trout?

Let me know, brother.

“is there anyone who you would like to speak with next week?

Please let me know and I will get him on the air.”

Joseph, thanks for the offer. Let me think about that a little bit and I”ll let you know.

BTW, Paulie was speaking from the heart, wasn’t he? I really appreciated that. Also, nice segment with Bruce Trampler, and I especially enjoyed listening to Abel Sanchez’s comments.

BTW, I don’t think Quillin is that humble LOL! But I enjoy listening to him nonetheless.

Judah looked good at times against Garcia but still lost. He looked impressive knocking out Spinks and Paris . 2 different things

Wilder who ? Who is he ?

Farmboy has the beat. Wilder’s nuthuggers are now saying that TT, a guy who has traveled all over the world to fight absolutely everyone possible, does not deserve a fight with fraud Wilder because “Wilder will just KO him early.” This has to be the biggest joke ever. Nothing Wilder has ever done suggests this. He has fought absolutely no one. Now no one is worthy of even fighting him? What a sick joke. Can’t wait for him to be exposed and to go away. Firtha, now there is a worthy challenger to the big fraud. What a sickening joke.

I’m sorry, Hidalgo…unless I notify him, I told James not to go through the stresses of screening calls because of his condition.

I didn’t even want him doing the show, but James is a real workhorse. Please let me know if you’re in the hosts cue next time with your area code, and I will notify him to let you through.

I’m sorry, brother…to make it up to you, Hidalgo, is there anyone who you would like to speak with next week?

Please let me know and I will get him on the air.

Joseph, I tried to get through to ask a question to Paulie tonight but I was left in the “que” for the whole show.

Yup…that’s what happens a fighter and co promoter doesn’t adhere to the terms of the contract

Mosley just made 300k and cancelled tomarrow’s fight!!!

Wilder is being kept from fight a top 10 fighter, or anyone ranked at all! He doesn’t have to fight ranked fighters, only winos from the alley! Thompson wants to fight Wilder but Wilder and his corner has been keeping him away from any live body! Wilder goes back to the graveyard once again. Can Wilder punch? Against un-ranked fighters who have been knocked out time and again we will never know.

Darn, Luke…my computer was frozen and I didn’t have a chance to reboot during the show!!

I didn’t know you were on the boards…my sincere apologies, brother.

Next time, let me know you’re going to be listening in live so I can have the producer put you through to ask these guys a question or two.

Paulie doesn’t have knockout power but he has enough pop and movement to keep guys from rushing him. Zab has let down the fans more then Paulie . Zab last good fight was against Paris and Spinks . The rest so so. Peter quillen is protected

Agree on Paulie…

Paulie is a good commentator and if Judah doesn’t score a knockdown or 2 he will lose on points .

I can’t wait until the day comes when someone, hopefully Judah, pounds Malignaggi into retirement from the ring and commentating. His big mouth needs to be quieted forever.
