Wilder is struggling to get contenders in the ring with him. 30 – 0 with 30KO although the level he has achieved that against is questionable it still makes for a nervous fighter. A fighter against Wilder is taking a huge risk for little reward. An up an coming fighter does not want to be KO’d and take a step back from a title shot and Wlad Klitchko needs more reward for that type of risk. Im thinking more of a had there shot type of fighters , Arreolla, Stiverine, Wach, Povetkin, Helenius would all be good for the resume.Posted October 27, 2013 9:07 pm
I like Wilder…, I love his talent…, I hate the way they’re matching him.
Tyson grabbed a world title when he was 20-years-old, in his 28th fight… You have a bunch of old farts picking fights for Wilder who don’t know their asses from a hole in the wall.. He’s sitting around marking time.. Mark Breland doesn’t know how to choose opponents.. You have to bring in somebody who’s a great evaluator of boxing talent and great at putting fights together.. These idiots are just wasting Wilder’s talent.. It’s a complete disgrace.Posted October 26, 2013 6:52 pm
wladimir was 20 or just turned 21 and fighting one of the most rugged journeymans in ross purritty. purrity has necer been ko’ed as far as i can remember. wilder is fighting guys with multiple stoppage losses. its beyond expected for him to win by stoppage in fact if he doest he will be severly maligned for itPosted October 26, 2013 5:45 pm

I enjoy watching Wilder fight and look forward to him stepping up. No need to mock him just yet. He had a late start as an amateur and needed development as a pro. He would probably KO Fury inside of 3 if they fought, and would at least have a puncher’s chance against Wlad. That being said, Firtha as his next opponent is pretty pathetic.Posted October 26, 2013 2:40 pm
Have taken about a month break fm esb and see that DW is taking on ANOTHER no hoper. I suppose mgt wants to run his phony record to 30-0.
Many good comments by the veteran commentators here. The longer DW and his mgt keep lining up stiffs for him to fight, the more I’m convinced Wilder has weak stamina and/or a glass jaw.Posted October 26, 2013 2:30 pm
he’s gonna take over the world? there is no sign of any taking over the world. you cant slay cab drivers and pizza delivery guys to the top of the world. ya cant slay your way to the top in that fashion. jennings and abdusamalov have fought better comp than this guy and NEWSFLASH wilder is fighting yet another multiloss bum. wilder is an insult to boxing i wouldnt call these fights he’s participating inPosted October 26, 2013 2:20 pm
Wilder says he will take over the world or whatever then fight fury ? Isnt that a bit backwards, beat the number 1 guy klitschko then go fight fury. Thats like the colts saying were going to beat the redskins then were going to beat a jr high school football team after . Wilder must have the money to buy those good drugs now.Posted October 26, 2013 1:53 pm
Deontay Wilder’s resume is a joke. No way he should be the WBC no.3. Now, he might be the real deal in time, but right now, he’s not meeting good opposition. The guy has been a pro for five years and won an Olynpic medal, so he’s curiously protected.Posted October 26, 2013 12:11 pm
From the rhetoric and the promotion through to his age and boxing record, this guy resembles Audley Harrison so much it’s funny. Harrison was exposed once he left domestic level so it must be time for Wilder soon.Posted October 26, 2013 12:11 pm

I’d love to see the chubster beat Wilder but I think he’s just too sloppy. He seems indecisive, slow to react and seems to not throw with conviction. Also noted, for such an Eastern Bloc name, he speaks English a little too well, Kinda wierd. But we’ll see how his experience both in rounds and big names will serve him.Posted October 26, 2013 10:46 am

Did Wilder really say he expects a title shot in early to mid 2013? He’s done nothing to warrant that. 29 KOs of nobody in the top 40. Get out there and beat somebody not in a wheelchair.Posted October 26, 2013 5:17 am
Fury was a lot younger, less expriencd and didnt train so hard back then, and Firtha was fresher. Firtha has aged and been losing and inactive since then, he is on the slide. At Wildrs age and after 29 ”fights” he should be fighting better comp than Fury was when he was only 22 after 15 fights. Shows Wilder for what he is, a coward and cherry picker!Posted October 26, 2013 5:04 am
Firtha had Fury in big trouble in the third round of their contest. Fury got him outa there in the fifth, but he was looking very wobbly in the third.
Wilder will be getting worried if it goes past four rounds and Fitha’s still strong. Wild aint got no deep water experience.Posted October 26, 2013 4:05 am
This won’t go firtha than 3 Rounds, firtha ko 3.Posted October 26, 2013 2:33 am
You’re right. But Firtha aint no bartender – I’m really hoping his pro experience might cause an upset. Sorta like Banks v Mitchell I.
He’s lost 10 fights, but how close were those contests? I don’t know, but I know that legit pro experience makes as difference.Posted October 26, 2013 1:28 am
no chance one of these bartenders knocks out wilder. his team chooses carefully. they will get him a big fight and then whatever real fighter he faces will knock him into a coma – but not before he cashes out with a 7 figure payday. this guy is one of the biggest frauds in boxing history.Posted October 26, 2013 1:22 am

How tall has Wilders bums been? Sconiers, remember the midget he beat? WBC #3 is a disgrace for the WBC……………..Posted October 26, 2013 1:13 am
Vlad has looked really good when he fought big fighters. Wilder claims that Vlad can’t beat a tall fighter?! Vlad Vs. 6′ 6″ Derrick Jefferson when Jefferson was on top, a huge power puncher, but Vlad knocked him out in the second round! Vlad beat 6′ 6″ McCline when McCline was on top, knocked him out at the end of the 10th round, won all rounds. Vlad Also knocked out 6′ 6″ Austin, knocked him out in the second round by using only his left hand. Vlad beat the living crap out of Wach who is 6′ 8″ inches tall, won every round, Vlad stopped Bostice, who is 6″5″ tall, etc. Don’t allow Wilder to lie to you! You can watch those fights on tape and the author will be a proven liar…………Vlad also knocked out Thompson two times, who is 6′ 6″ tall and also a southpaw. Wilder refused to fight Thompson I know that, but I have also heard he refused to fight Tyson Fury after Haye canceled…………..Vlad also outclassed Wilder while sparring for the Wach fight, knocked Wilder down with a jab. Wilder could not land anything on Vlad.
Vlad has been in many exciting fights, he knocked out Shufford with the shortest left hook I have ever seen………….Vlad beat Byrd two times, ad infinitum…………….Vlad beat all the other champions, except Vitali. The haters want Vlad to fight his own brother, which will never happen, unlike so many other fighters, Vitali and Vlad do not lie, do not do drugs, stay in shape year round. I know so many Americans want Vitali and Vlad to beat up a woman, or strangle a woman so they will respect them?! I never heard anyone asking the Spinks brothers to fight each other. Yes, the haters know no shame………………
They claim that Vlad is not good enough to win a gold medal?! Vlad won the gold medal back in 1996, Atlanta, GA. So, there is another proven lie………Just because Wilder strangled a woman does not make him Tarzan…………..Posted October 26, 2013 1:10 am

Firtha (to the body): one, two.
Firtha (moving upstairs): one, two.
Ref (to Wilder): one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten!
Wilder (to anyone and no-one): Dafuq happened …Posted October 26, 2013 1:01 am
Wladimir had 32 pro fights in the 1990′s…half his total.
That’s not bad considering he was the Heavyweight Olympic Gold Medal winner in 1996. In Boxing the best way to start your pro career is fast and furiously with tons of fights … one fight after the other.
Like Cus D’Amato did for Patterson and Tyson. Patterson was Heavyweight Champ when he was 21 and and Tyson was Heavyweight Champ at 20 in his 28th fight.
D’Amato.., “It’s nuts to take 5 or 6 years to get a title shot when you have a good kid. If your kid runs an opponent over in 2 or 3 rounds get him another fight a week later. Get him enough rounds to keep him sharp. Experience is the number of rounds. It’s not the number of fights. The way half of these professional fighters are managed they sit around for months between fights after knocking somebody out in 60 seconds.”Posted October 25, 2013 11:10 pm

This is a one round job for Wilder again… Firtha is not the opponent Deontay wants at this stage of his career. He needs a resourceful matchmaker who can work the phone without getting discouraged. You need to be as persistent and talkative as a door-to-door sales person was in the 50’s. You need to line up better fights at long last.
Somewhere out there, there’s a better heavyweight than Nic Firtha, who is badly in need of money — or has a pushy manager who is.Posted October 25, 2013 5:00 pm

A bum is a guy who doesn’t care if he wins or loses. He’s fighting for rent money. He’s unemployable and can’t find a day job. He is usually used to build other boxer’s won/lost records. If only there was some system by which you could, say, beat a string of successively better opponents and then get yourself into a position where the champions are forced to fight you or vacate their title. Oh wait, that’s exactly what everyone else does. Wilder would prefer to have us believe that he’s ready now to take on the best in to world even though he has that opportunity available to him and chooses not to take it.Posted October 25, 2013 12:37 pm
Sorry to all that don’t believe but Wilder IS THE NEXT BIG THING. By early 2015 this “weak resume” stuff will be a thing of the past. Wlad is getting old and Wilder is getting ready. Wlad is going down by a jab followed by a right hand so powerful it should be illegal but not in the margacheato way. Okay, okay, I drink koolaid but i’m hoping that we got a fighter from the states that can do something and Wilder has a chance to be that guy.Posted October 25, 2013 11:59 am

Wilder is a tbig man and can clearly hit hard, but first things first. Let’s see him in with a fellow contender. He has unfinnished business with Derek Chisora. This man may, indeed, be the real thing, but knocking over carefully selected opponents won’t do it anymore. I know that the Firtha fight is just about keeping busy, but someone find him a real opponent.Posted October 25, 2013 7:18 am
