Khan is finished, just wants one last pay day against Floyd before retiring next year.

Brook showed some pop. Even with the jabs.

Khan vs Brook is a great domestic fight, but Khan wants something bigger. I’d love see Brook vs Broner. Yes, Brook is unknown in the U.S., but that did not stop Broner from fighting Rees. I thought Brook was the mandatory for Alexander, but I guess that doesn’t mean much anymore.

Brook is weak. The guy he just beat is weak.

Would love to see Kell take on Frankie Gavin but don’t think Eddie Hearn fancies it.

The Great American Joke:
You forgot to mention Bob Fitzsimmons duffing up James J.Corbett or John H.Stracey travelling to Mexico to do a number on Jose Napoles. Oh yes & then of course there was that very average lightweight Ken Buchanan who used to sell out Madison Square Garden!!

Paulie stinks… Outboxed by Hatton. Stopped by Khan. Beaten up by Broner.

Posted October 28, 2013 1:14 am

R0b0-H@mster

Brook actually outboxed Senchenko FAR better than Malignaggi did, AND he showed the power to lay him out.

Brook also whipped Hatton far better than Canelo did, and slapped Ndou silly far better than anyone else.

He will beat Alexander really quite easily. Yanks will be shocked and go on about how Alexander was always a quitter anyway and Kell should fight BRadley etc etc.

Thought kell boxed well….his jab is like a straight..

The Great American Joke

I think all British fighters are rubbish, although I’m not quite sure where Britland is,but then I’m not sure where any country is apart from the USA.This Joshua will get knocked out if he comes to the USA,I’m not sure by who,as we don’t have a single decent heavyweight,we haven’t for some years.Any Brit boxers that come to the USA get a beating.Unless the fights are fixed, like when Calzaghe embarrassed Bernard “The Ferenghi” Hopkins,or when Lloyd Honeyghan destroyed Don Curry,or when Lennox spanked Tyson, ripped Grant a new one, beat on Holyfield TWICE, folded Biggs like a cheap tent, put Briggs on the canvass multiple times, and all the other American misfit heavyweights Lennox cleared out.I hate the fact that my mum ran off with a Brit boxer.

Maybe Leonard Bundu for the EBU title might be best next for Kell. He needs to keep active!

Why all the hate for Brook? He’s had some problems out of the ring but come back to 2 impressive wins, what can he do?he can only beat the man in front of him.no one called that fat over rated chump Hatton and he LOST to senchenko, why don’t we back him instead of battering him,Kell is rated no10 in WW division now and apart from floyd in my opinion would beat any of the others on his night

Posted October 27, 2013 9:15 am

PEEJ

You obviously haven’t looked at Paulies record. He has pretty decent comp on there and has only lost to the best of the divisions.

Posted October 27, 2013 9:14 am

course he wants the plastic one.. he not going get any of the others.. then when he wins it he can lord it around sheffield like a modern day naz but without the boxing skills..

this is whats great about modern boxing.5 6 different belts, and brook is looking for the plastic one.

If Brook had taken his time a little bit in the 3rd he would have had Senchenko out of there – he went for the finish with the crowd behind him and rushed his punches. Those that say he is chinny – you know nothing about boxing. The difference between someone that can take a punch ans someone that cant is the recovery time. Boxers are human, hit them in the right place they will falter and perhaps even go down. The blow that sent Brook against the ropes was right of the temple. He dealt with it well, went back, took a deep breath and by then he was looking Senchenko in the eyes and starting to cover, knowing exactly where the blows were going to be coming from. He composed himself and went onto win, this is what champions do. Khan on the other hand takes about a round to recover and this is his downfall. Look at Froch, Calzaghe etc. all been hurt before but recover quickly. this is the key, and if you have a quick recovery you cant be called chinny. He will demolish Alexander.

This fight would have made a bigger statement if Matchroom had put it on the Stephenson/Bellew undercard in Canada. Brook is not being taken seriously in the USA & that’s down to previous bad management by FW & too many fights in the UK. Maybe he could get a slot on the Broner/Maidana card.
“Haters can say what they like, but 31 fights undefeated + a Lonsdale belt out-right is nothing to be sniffed at”!

That’s the only bum Paulie can beat.

Well done, Kell Brook. Except Paulie took a title from Senchenko. You just got a win.

Posted October 27, 2013 3:20 am

The fight went the way everyone expected. Sencenko can’t box or punch or beat anyone good. Brook should be fighting Garcia, Alexander, Broner, Bradley, Pacquiao, Rios, Marquez, Provodnikov, or Mayweather. Those 10 opponents and nobody else. Quit screwing around.

Fight Aficionado

Isn’t Senchenko the same guy Paulie M stopped? Not impressed. Brook is another cherrypicking “talent” who’s done nothing.

@ the oak – aside from having Hatton rule for 5 year, we had Lewis, the first real ruler of the hw division for years. oh that and boxing as we know it is a British sport.

I agree the experts here who leave comments really know their boxing, they’ve all been in the ring, and fought at a high level as amateurs and pro’s!! Who the heck do Joshua and his manager and his coaches and his professional sparring partners and his promoters think they are?? Why don’t they listen to the know-it-all experts here?? It baffles me the ignorance Joshua and his people display when there so many keyboard experts here, who know more about the fight game than anyone alive today.

Obviously …..by know you will have realised that my post below is in the wrong thread.
If you read my post, you may recall I mentioned about having an ” off night” and how it can happen to all of us.
Well you have just witnessed my “off night”
I can only apologise to those who were confused as to WTF I was on about
I shall endeavour to make sure this never happens again.
Yours truly
Limeyjay.

Limeyjay

Yeah….what are the matchmakers doing putting him in with guys like this, it’s unbelievable really.
He should be fighting the klitschkos, or haye, or maybe wilder or fury by now.
I mean he has been pro now for nearly 7 weeks, he should be looking for a title in his next fight….if not sooner.
After winning the Olympic gold Lennox had only 22 fights at pro in a five year period before he fought for the heavyweight title.
Why oh why ..are they taking so much time with Joshua ?
And as for his power…..it looks non existent, I think paulie malignaggi hits harder …..and slow too, looked like he was fighting in treacle.
I really can’t understand how he managed to catch butlin at all…let alone stop him.
Butlin must have been able to see those punches coming, he should have been able to pop home and make a sandwich and come back to the fight just in time to slip em and counter with his own.
He must gave just had an off night I suppose…..it happens to all of us at sometime I guess.
Joshua was lucky tonight….had that punch butlin threw…..you know the one, you must of seen it .
Well had it of landed ,……well i think that would have stopped Joshua, I really do.
In summary I think Joshua should retire….he should go and get a nine to five somewhere , some little office job, something safe where he can work away tirelessly for the next 40 or 50 years and finish up at the end with a nice gold watch or something.
But he seems intent on trying to push on from his Olympic success with these silly dreams of being a pro boxer, headlining arenas around the world, earning millions, rubbing shoulders with the stars and living the high life….what a foolish, man…..what a lucky foolish man he is.
He should listen to people like the author of this article….he needs people who understand boxing to be in his ear, not these fools he has around him at the moment who are getting him maximum exposure on the biggest sports channel in the UK and his face in the national papers on a weekly basis.
I hope Joshua reads this writers piece…..and gets in touch with him, i really do.

THE REAL AMERICAN OAK

In the USA he will get stopped in his first fight. Very few Brits are worth a crap.

Posted October 26, 2013 8:03 pm

Senchenko would beat Alexander, same as Koltenik did but was robbed, Alexander quit against Bradley, Brook would own Alexander big time.

Kelly brook needs to fight a decent fighter stopping a 36 year old doesn’t prove much. Brook can run but he can’t hide as he is going to has to fight a worthy opponent for a world title. I can’t see him winning any if the current welterweight champions

Posted October 26, 2013 7:02 pm

Kell needs to start fighting in the US for his career to go any further. He’s being used as a bit of a cash cow by EH at the minute and not progressing as quickly as he should.

Khan got dropped by a fighter 2 weight divisions below and of far lesser calibre than Senchenko, yet Brook is now the chinny one? Please. There is no way Khan would be able to take Brooks power or accuracy, the only thing I don’t understand is why Brook is still chasing this fight. Brook is mandatory for a world title, Khan hasn’t even fought at welter yet and he’s being dropped by C grade lightweights.

Brook needs to press on with the World title fight now. I was very impressed tonight, puts some real hurt in his punches. The straight right that put Senchenko away looked vicious. The fact that he got wobbled and recovered from it was a positive for me, if he’d had done a silly dance and come out with his chin hanging out to dry I’d have been concerned. As it was, he recovered quickly, slipped a couple of shots and put the opponent away a minute later.

Brook will make Alexander quit, if he gets past Porter.

Gotta agree. Maidana would probably pull off the stoppage, just like he had ample opportunity to do so against Khan. Maidana’s punches are too obvious.

Posted October 26, 2013 6:03 pm

not looking good for brook he did a chicken dance after getting clipped by limted opposition.. he def wont win a legitimate world title and khan would smoke him with ease if they ever did meet.. same for someone like maidana.. he would smoke brook inside 5 rounds
