Floyd has humbled Pacquiao. That’s why Pacquiao has come OFF of his 50-50 demand. He now realizes that he is NOT equal to Floyd at the Box Office.

allow me to provide you with a vivid flashback of FACTS: their first bout was officially ruled a “Draw” and a faded Morales coming off a flat-performance and another loss v. Barrera thoroughly outBoxed and outPunched Pacquiao* for a convincing win. ain’t nothing changed but the time and the weather . . .

IMO, Pacquiao* has always been little more than a tune-up for Floyd. only the promotional hype places him near Mayweather. otherwise, he’s tailor-made for Floyd who can’t help but dramatically improve on Marquez’s last performance v. Pacquiao*. in fact, the only suspense left in this proposed matchup is to what degree Mayweather will dominate Pacquiao* not if.

if Mayweather waits too long to fight Paquiao, then Mayweather will lose to somebody else before the Pac vs. May fight takes place. in my opinion Floyd’s legs did not look the same as they used to when he fought Cotto.

The timing of Pac Mans statements seem to be focused on driving sales of the Marquez bout which despite how close the contests were represent a stale contest…. Throwing the public the Mayweather bone at this point might fuel additional interest in how Manny performs vs JMM… It flys in the face of conventional wisdom that Pac would be discussing another bout when he is about to fight his MOST difficult opponent to date for the 4th time….. Floyd/Pac is still just mythology at this point, but hats off for the marketing ploy…

Thanls for agreeing with me… Floyd doesn’t need a tune up. That is why it will be BS when he whines for one anyway… Just you wait… Yet another classic Mayweather stall tactic, hoping Pacquiao will get hit by a speeding Jeepney in the Philippines or just drop dead so Floyd don’t have to finally take that hiney stompin’ like a real man.

Peej… Dude… Floyd Sr, had started this PED crap because after talking so much crap about Pacquiao and Roach, before the Pacquiao VS Hatton fight, then he got his ass handed to him and looked like the joke he is. So out of spite he started using what Manny said about blood testing after the loss to Morales against Manny as an insult. Then Floyd Jr. planned to accuse Manny from the start… And after Camp Mayweather he saw the serious beat-down Manny gave to Cotto, BOTH Floyds got spooked SO bad that Big Floyd talked lil’ Floyd into really pulling the trigger on accusing Manny of cheating… Even despite the fact that Manny had passed every test both then AND to this very day! And with flying colors! So in reality, lil’ Floyd never really wanted to fight Manny.
In fact from day one I have firmly believed lil’ Floyd only pretended to agree to Manny’s demands to look good, later, after he’d killed the fight. And we know this, because he waited good, until just hours before they were supposed to sign the contract to actually make the fight, and SUDDENLY, lil’ Floyd takes the calculated gamble of falsely accusing Manny of cheating, as well as demanding he draw blood right before the figth, which hoped that after what Manny had said on Philippine TV about the blood testing mess that had occurred just days prior to the Morales fight, which Manny firmly believed caused him the fight. So lil’ Floyd hoped both the accusation and the demand would simultaneously spook, and piss the proud Manny Pacquiao off enough to make him balk on the fight… And it just so happened Floyd guessed correctly… Manny walked away in anger and disgust…
Bottom line, Floyd has even his own fans fooled… He is a conman that happens to have good boxing skill too. What’s worse, some of you know it and help him peddle the con, while others are just too dumb to know the difference. But now Manny finally has him cornered… So what’s Floyd’s next move? Well of course, to use the fact that Manny will have a fight in December with JMM, to stall more by crying for his own tuneup in May, 2012! Just wait and see :!:

Yeah, that’s what Pacquiao says now, but he’ll change his tune after Mayweather agrees. Although I think that if it weren’t for possible megabuck revenues and purses from this potential fight Mayweather would blow Pac off altogether. But Floyd’s a greedy little pisser–just like Manny–so the fight will probably happen. At this point in time however, I hope they both have perfectly synchronized timed punches, and knock each other out cold in the first round. This fight is happening three years too late. F’k it!

Arum want this fight to happen because it will fatten his pocket more than enough than Pacquiao previous fights. Ellerbe is the one who don’t want the fight to happen because one lose of their cashcow will affect all of them. Ellerbe already started barking of ducking the fight of saying: Pacquiao tells no sh@t to Mayweather.

Posted September 22, 2012 7:09 am

After the issues of purse sharing and drug testing are agreed on by Manny, the ducker Floyd will demand that the fight weight will be at 154 and that Manny drop the case against him and the current judgement that the ducker owes Manny $113,000. The fight will never happen.

OrangeKronic

According to Lance Pugmire of the LA Times, not long after Pacquiao’s latest comments on First Take, Koncz again clarified that Pacquiao was referring to their original offer that would award the winner 55% while the loser would get 45%. That explanation appears to contradict Pacquiao’s statements. In fact, as Pugmire tells it, Pacquiao would reiterate to his publicist on Friday that he would indeed take 45% win or lose. The question is, does his promoter agree with those comments?

Bring back Ernie Shavers

This fight has lost a lot of its buzz and it will never get it back. Im sure the fight will still break records and make both fighters silly money but it will not be the same as if it was a couple of years ago. Pac has basically lost twice during that period, unofficially to marquez and officially to bradley. Pac is on a steady decline and could easily lose to marques. I gave up on this fight ages ago and I can honestly say I do no care whether it happens or not. PacMan hands Scaredweather 10% more of the purse than Pac will receive, even though Pac is the greater draw and more exciting fighter. PacMan tells Scaredweather he will be tested for drugs whenever Scaredweather pleases. PacMan tells us that Scaredweather admitted to Pacs face that he was afraid of losing and that he does not have anything else to fall back on if he loses (like Pac still being a congressman). All this and Scaredweather fans who have a hard time accepting the truth are still in denial that Scaredweather is terrified of the Pacman!!!!.

I don’t think Pacquiao-Mayweather is ever going to happen. When are you Pactards going to realize, it doesn’t matter what Pacroid says. Every time he says something to save face, Arum rounds him up and forces him to change his tune. There’s no way Pacroid will agree to full random testing tell the day of the fight, a 55/45 split, and a weight limit of 147, for a Mayweather fight. No way….

Posted September 21, 2012 10:52 pm

Oh, no question, BOTH are great fighters, but you must admit this fight should have taken place a couple years ago. Look at it this way, Pac hasn’t looked good as of late — struggled against Marquez, in a fight most thought Marquez was going to get creamed in. Then Pac doesn’t leave a mark on Bradley and loses a decision. While Floyd has continued to perform very well in his fights, the man is getting old — he’ll soon be 36. Plus, there are many new, up and coming fighters who are starting to steal the headlines. I say the fight should have happen prior to Bradley and Cotto and will soon be “oh, they are finally fighting… whatever” type of fight.

Posted September 21, 2012 10:52 pm

DrewBox

Come on, all this BS about them being past their primes, why didn’t they do this 3 yrs ago, etc…they are both great fighters and they will both “get up” for this fight. Get ready to see a great one. Of course it will happen, probably next May.

Now 3 years later the so called ball is in Floyds court. Please.

Ring size… Glove size… PPV take… There are a multitude of things FMJ will use to hang up the fight. Balls in Floyds court now. So far Manny has conceded reluctantly to all of Floyd’s demands.. What has Floyd conceded? Floyd’s worse than the GOP. never want to wok together.

Where do I begin? First off, Floyd and Pac are equally responsible for this fight not happening — there’s plenty of blame to go around. Secondly, only AFTER Floyd makes it look easy, do his detractors say he doesn’t fight anyone who is a threat.

Whats with floyd being SCARED TO FIGHT PACMAN!??? Or is he waiting like he waited four years for cotto to slow down? This floyd guy is such a joke!! Larry merchant said it best floyd is “THE ARTFUL DODGER” its amazing how this guy fight no one thats a threat to his 0!!

whoever you think is p4p no 1 is fine, its hard to ever get consensus on that anyway.

my point is that mayweather and pacquiao have circled each other for too long.
i dont care who’s fault it is, at this point they are both guilty in my mind. i understand that a boxer is uniquely limited commodity so they have to be careful but its gone beyond ridiculous

mayweather is a part time fighter like oscar de la hoya was, we will be lucky if he fights twice before 2014

and pacquiao is clearly slipping.
they are having to resort giving pac as many chances as he needs to finally beat a 40 year old marquez even once so he can claim victory in that rivalry (he’s bound to win one of these times)

thats not how the two flagships of the sport are supposed to act.
i say lets just focus on the future, let mayweather and pacquiao sort things out silently or not at all….but no more of these damn games.

The ONLY reason that Floyd fought Cotto was because Manny wouldn’t step UP to the plate. All this jibber jabber in the aftermath is USELESS and irrelevant. Order your team to make the Fight happen or shut UP. As a matter of FACT you need to beat Marquez DEFINITIVELY at Welter before even DREAMING of facing Floyd…..If you can’t even knock down Bradley or Marquez at Welter you can FORGET about dropping Floyd. And that equals a LOSS because Floyd will NOT lose on points.

Too late. Should’ve said that two years ago. Its FUNNY how when people start making LESS money they start to smarten UP and DO what they should have done a long time ago.

I don’t think fans want a “swan song” fight. They want, or wanted, a fight when both were in their prime. And we wanted to see a rematch after that, and maybe a third fight. But now we have a Pacquiao who has lost his luster and a Floyd who is starting to come close to receiving social security payments. I’ll say it again, this fight is SO close to being past it’s sell-by date it isn’t even funny.

Posted September 21, 2012 9:21 pm

The Prince

We’ll see what happens. If Pacquiao gets past Marquez a forth time with a dominating performance, then the fight might finally happen next year. Floyd looked great against Cotto who, himself, put up a decent fight. If Pacquaio can look just as good, then there is no reason for people to claim the fight happening next year would be too late. It would be a great swan song fight. The legal issue is over, Floyd has to pay Pacquaio some pocket change. Now unless this story is another Arum lie, Pacquaio seems ready to finally step in the ring with Mayweather.

Pac and Mayweather will delay until they’re BOTH ready to retire. There’s too much money to be lost in future fights if one beats the other – until then, they can both declare themselves the #1 boxer in the sport and command larger purses. Once their careers are done they WILL fight each other for the retirement $$$

andre ward p4p king who never fought a top fighter away from home with a home ref each time too… pffff dont make me laugh geezer

Posted September 21, 2012 9:08 pm

Just The FACTS

Manny was asked a question he answered, Manny IS fighting this year, Floyd is not. We all KNOW they won’t fight each other this year, Manny is positioning himself to fight Floyd early next year. Quit making excuses for Floyd….he has that covered.

It’s clear to me Pac Man is Desperate for Cash and he now knows that he really need Floyd more than Floyd need him. Look for Floyd to change his original offer to some Crazy Low Ball Offer and Pac Man will take what ever Floyd offer him this time around. Pac Man is just about threw in the boxing Game. Pac Man’s Promoter is Desperate to get Pac Man to turn just one more Trick before before he is really done with him. Boxing is all about Money and no Doubt about it Floyd is the Man in terms of Skills and his ability to Generate Large Sums of Revenue for the Sport of Boxing. Like Floyd or Hate Him the Man is Dam Good at what he Does.

WTF

What did I tell you? Now Mayweather wants 60-40! And of course they want Pac to drop the lawsuit. And Mayweather gets to choose the color of his costume and the gloves and the weight. It will never end with this guy! Hahahaha! If it is not one thing, it is another! ESPN’s Wilburn has been calling Mayweather a coward on national tv for several years now. Now SI’s Mannix is convinced that Mayweather doesn’t want the fight at all. Yahoo’s Iole and Espn’s Rafael are on the fence but they have clearly put the burden on Mayweather’s camp to prove that he is not avoiding Pac. Sugar Ray Leonard, Hagler, Larry Holmes and many other greats have also come out and blamed Mayweather for always putting obstacles in making the fight.

who cares what happened in the latest episode of pacquiao mayweather 90210?.
its not like this fight is even close to being reality.

even if it does happen.
they should have fought 2-3 years ago. Now pacquiao has lost two fights in a row and mayweather is a 35 year old ex-con who is finally starting to take damage in the ring…the perfect storm has passed…we may get a fight but like hopkins jones jr 2 before it, its too late to capitalize on the situation.

the p4p best fighter in the sport is andre ward.
He fights and beats everyone close to his weight regardless of style or drawing power and most importantly he’s not some egomaniacal diva like pac and floyd.

…lets all, as a sport just move on with the up and coming boxers who actually want to fight, instead of being held hostage by the continued antics of too very bored sounding part time fighters.

Good on Pac for trying to make this fight! BUT, why didn’t he agree to this stuff 3 years ago? Now FMJ needs to make it happen, before these two are too old to fight. And right now, this fight is on the cusp of being irrelevant.

WTF

Pac has now cornered Mayweather. If he comes back and says that Pac has to drop the lawsuit or do this or do that then the tide of public opinion will swamp him. The other thing is that the defamation lawsuit goes to trial in early 2013. The fact hat Mayweather was very reluctant to be deposed tells you that he really had no reasonable basis to believe that Pac was on steroids and the he acted with malice and with reckless disregard for the truth. Sure he can delay it as long as he can but either way Pac is getting a payday.

te tumbo

yet another cynical attempt by Arum to negotiate this matchup through the media instead of negotiating directly with Mayweather. i’m certain that if they managed to bait Floyd to the negotiating table they would immediately sabotage negotiations by insisting on some dealbreaking condition of their own and then blame it on Mayweather, Again. otherwise, Floyd has made it absolutely clear that he won’t consider any Team Pacquiao* overture until they unequivocally agree to random blood and urine testing. every other “concession” is moot until Pacquiao* does that.

Posted September 21, 2012 8:38 pm

Sick of hearing about this fight! If any of them wanted it we’d have a public negotiation. That’s the only way to see why it’s not happenig

Yeah he was. But I like the way when Smith asked if he though Floyd was scared of him he had to put his glasses on to say yes so you couldn’t look into his eyes. Eyes are the window to a mans soul so Pac seems to me like he is unsure about that statement he said. Not to mention when you are unsure of something people like to try and laugh it off so they feel more secure

Posted September 21, 2012 8:13 pm

Shane

He also said directly that FMJ was too SCARED to fight him. He told Smith that FMJ told him on the phone “Manny you are a congressman and an actor and have other things besides boxing you can do…….what do I do if I LOSE?” Smith and Parker who have been backing FMJ all this time now grudgingly admit thier man is DUCKING. FMJ looks BAD. FMJ better have the fight made soon or he is going to EAT the blame and be tarred and feathered as a coward all over US TV. We are VERY close to FMJ just taking up the rear or THE FIGHT HAPPENING after what Pac just did. I was watching and my mouth dropped when Pac LAUGHED HARD in Smith’s face when he said FMJ would beat him. Smith was floored. It was hilarious.

If ur boy had problems with Bradley and Marquez. What in the he’ll do u think Money going to do to him. And for ur info Floyd decides who he fights. As for paper champ pac Arum decides who he fights. Now look that up.

Posted September 21, 2012 8:09 pm

Peej

And Floyd has been a champ at 130, 135, 147 and has held titles in 140 and 154. Pac has only been the champ at 126 i believe and 130. He has held titles in more weight classes than Floyd but he was never considered the champ in most the weight classes he has visited so Floyd has the upper hand in that

Posted September 21, 2012 7:51 pm

Once again Pac says he will take less than 50/50. Once again he does this when he has a fight already lined up. I find it funny that Pac only starts talking when he or Floyd is already signed for a fight. Why didn’t he accept this in the last negotiations?

Manny Is Three Ladders Up Above Floyd (Eight Division vs. Five Division)

If Manny Pacquiao is willing to fight for FREE, I am sure Floyd will announce his fake retirement immediately.

Manny Is Three Ladders Up Above Floyd (Eight Division vs. Five Division)

Some dummies yell at Bob Arum, but not Al Haymon (Floyd’s adviser and manager). Floyd does everything Haymon tells him to, so Haymon is a big part of the blame. WHY there are so MANY NONSENSE EXCUSES from FLoyd and Haymon? If Floyd really wants to fight Manny, does he do build up all of these stacks of blocks? Absolutely not.

Posted September 21, 2012 7:46 pm

Manny Is Three Ladders Up Above Floyd (Eight Division vs. Five Division)

Floyd is AFRAID of Manny Pacquiao. He will NEVER fight Manny. Even now that the ball is in Mayweather’s court, he will throw the ball AWAY by making up ANOTHER excuse. Mark my words.

This is a sad ploy from Manny to act like the fight is now going to happen, he needs to beat Marquez first which is not an easy task at all, then he needs to negotiate at the table like a businessman not through the media like a diva.
