Breaking news … word on the street is that Khan V Mosley is happening. A nice, safe faded “name” for Khan. Shane will show up for the cash and make Khan look good in what amounts to a glorified sparring session. The idea is to feed Khan a “name” who is well past his prime, so Amir can win easy and then keep lobbying for his retirement fight against Mayweather. Khan won’t fight anyone in their prime at this stage, it’s all about making careful moves, just to get a shot at Floyd. Sickening. The Mosley fight will happen at 147. Should happen in late January. You heard it here first.Posted November 3, 2013 11:21 am
I been watch manny fights from the maxican war days, and starting from after the margirito fight, manny fight have been boring ,and I predicted that manny has a no win fight marquez again even if he win he loses, shouldn’t take that fight back down to 145lb I say that he should take the Martinez fight instead that Sergio say he come down to 145 even as he would weight 160 fight night, about same as margarito. As it a all win fight, even he loses he still win as a determine brave fighter. But he would win by decision.
Well if he went that route he just might be the top dog fighter now as Floyd would then not fight manny, and that with a win or lose over sergio Martinez,Posted November 2, 2013 8:38 pm
Rem, are you manny nut slurper. Look at your last post, me and Raymond said the same thing, well were hopeing manny show a improments and returned to being the old manny. You the reason why many hate manny, his fans, who think he ok but slipping and we say some good and some bad but you only see the bad,
You talk as if the same hard punching manny is fighting, no, that is why we saying if manny can go back to his old style of in and out boxing that is what needed to fight Floyd.
And watch he will look like a possible forward fight with Floyd, just say the manny of old can have a better change of beating Floyd, not the current slow, weak punches, he has no hunger to hurt the fighter before, part is a mind change and hunger.Posted November 2, 2013 8:17 pm
Tark exellent post but I worry about politics favoring Floyd with him practically owning Showtime and Vegas. Although I slightly favor Pac there’s no denying Floyd can take advantage of his flaws and clearly win the fight but like I’ve said I stongly feel that Pacs tools are a problem specifically for Floyds style.Posted November 2, 2013 2:05 pm
Marquez was an easier fight for Bradley than Pacquiao… That’s because a counter-puncher gives you more freedom to maneuver and box.. Marquez waits.. Bradley is not a natural boxer. He’s naturally aggressive and super busy which would play into the hands of a counterpuncher. Bradley had to change his style and be a jabber and mover vs Marquez. It worked. He peppered JMM much like Floyd did, but not as effectively.
Pacquiao will be tougher for Floyd because he is very fast — and fights at a distance he wants to fight at. Pac attacks at angles and very quickly. Pacquiao’s right hook is difficult for a shoulder roller to handle, and Pac’s variety of straight lefts and left hooks were very hard for taller orthodox boxers like De La Hoya and Mosley to adjust to. Floyd’s height, size, and style is more favorable to Pacquiao. It’s what Pacquiao is used to. He punches up very well and has more room to slip under punches, which he also does very well.
Pacquiao will be in perfect physical condition and fight at an impressive pace. A torrid pace. He won’t have any weight making issues like De La Hoya had to suffer against Pacquaio — and Canelo had to suffer against Floyd. He’ll be able to fight full bore for 12 hard rounds because he makes 147 with ease.
I would make Floyd a slight favorite at 8:5. It will be a brutal fight.
Floyd should win a very close tough fight that could find him on his ass at some point. It will come down to the judges. A couple of inept judges like CJ Ross or Tom Kaczmarek—who scored some mind boggling rounds in Floyd fights—could throw the fight to Pacquiao. There are some judges out there who are determined to see Floyd go down to defeat. They don’t want him going down a the GOAT.
They want Floyd beat — and Pacquiao is their man. Would you want Hecdog to be judging Pacquiao-Mayweather??? … Well, putting CJ Ross and Tom Kaczmarek in there could produce the same result.Posted November 2, 2013 1:10 pm
Pac will definitly be the biggest puncher Floyd has faced you must be talking about neon green Canelo and the Mosley fight is the proof who the bigger puncher is between him and Pac. Your underrating Pacs timing also no one has better timing better fundamentals but not better timing. I’ve always said both posess each others kryptonite Pac an A level southpaw and Floyd a master boxer counterpuncher.Yeah the Marquez fights are telling but the perfornances against Hatton and Cotto are also. And please don’t compare neon green unproven in his own weightclass Canelo rivalry under what merit good young fighter but his biggest accomplishment was being born with red hair sold to the uninformed and gullible public. Like I said before Floyd cannot control range against Pac because of footspeed and angles out of the southpaw stance if he could this fight wouldve happened.Posted November 2, 2013 12:10 pm
REM, you say “Manny will force Floyd to be more active” Floyd’s EASILY one of the BEST ring generals in history!! Manny Pacquiao can be taken off course and defeated, his aggressive nature is the lifeblood of the Mayweather counter punching clinic basically a WET dream with those short arms and off balance lunges getting slipped, blocked, parried and counteredPosted November 2, 2013 11:24 am
“An Oscar rematch” Floyd and ODH produced a DUD fight where 2 very skilled boxers played some chess till Floyd took over.. Oscar could not land a single meaningful shot hence him saying “I would like to fight him again in a phone booth” I know you want to find some avenue to get that 0 off Floyd’s record but he’s frustrated you as Manny Pacquiaos stock has plummeted…The public supplanted PAC as a threat with Canelo to the tune of $150 mill and Floyd made him look clueless and would likely make the smaller more reckless Pacquiao look worse..Posted November 2, 2013 11:17 am
It’s odd that you argue that “PAC has the right style to beat Floyd” when most a lot of people believe that Floyd Mayweather has a NIGHTMARE style for Pacquiao.. There is FAR more hope than logic to your stance, Mayweather has unanimous wins over EVERY left handed boxer he faced… Whereas the way to beat, or stymie Pacquiao has been implemented by a 40 year old, slower, relatively flatfooted technician…(Marquez) in your mind you have choreographed a scenario wher Manny deftly slips around Floyd’s guard and lands rapid fire combos all night…Or catches Floyd exchanging, reality is Mayweather catches fighters with BOTH speed and timing, Pacs hands are fast but his timing is NOT on Floyd’s level that’s why he throws a surplus of punches and leaves himself open to counters against less talented fighters.. (Amir Khan does the same thing) Pacquaio won’t be close to the biggest or hardest puncher Floyd has faced at 147 and above..We KNOW he’s not stopping Floyd, he’s not stopping anyone at WW so what’s his avenue to victory? Unlearn all his Bad habits and somehow learn to outbox Floyd in the center of the ring?? HAHAHAHAHA!!!! He cannot outbox Juan Manuel Marquez at 39 years old and JMM is a better physical matchup… If this fight could happen I’m all for it but it can’t so I’m gonna enjoy what’s left of both guys careers…Posted November 2, 2013 11:12 am
SRed it’s not me trying to stir up an old debate this fight is this generations Duran v Leonard, Ali v Fraiser, Robinson v LaMotta. Pac might not he percieved as fearsome anymore but the guy has the physical tools and right style for Floyd more so than anyone at Floyds weight. Bradley didn’t fight Pac like Prog if he did Pac wouldve floored him too.Sorry man but my art of war comment was dead on Floyd stays away from uncertainty like an Oscar rematch which wouldve generated massive money so wouldve Martinez and of course Pac. No one Floyd has beaten brings what Pac brings Marquez fights Pac well but he doesn’t bring the toolkit Pac brings either.Posted November 2, 2013 10:16 am
I know you want to just stir debate REM, PAC Mans just not really as fearsome anymore, Ruslan Provodnikov was able to put Bradley down and crack his skull and the guys a former Pacquaio sparring partner, Manny won against Bradley clearly in my eyes but again, he cannot put these WW’s away…. Floyd Mayweather is much better than Bradley, Marquez and any other fighter that Pacs fought, this is and EASY contest for Floyd Mayweather…Pacs in with a guy who would have been a NO HOPER a few years ago, now we gotta see how he looks after that KO loss… PAC Mans a 12 round fighter now, and he could NEVER beat Mayweather absent a KO which aint happeningPosted November 2, 2013 6:08 am
Rios hasn’t prove anything. I don’t think he can beat a superstar!Posted November 2, 2013 5:14 am
If you ask me Pacman can beat Floyd. Speed from different angle with power! I like to see how Floyd sweet science aka boring pure defense style beat that. He will reduce to hiding his pretty face and doing the shoulder role all night. Only if the have agree to fight 3 years ago or so.Posted November 2, 2013 5:09 am
Pac will force Floyd to be more active to win the fight and that will open up even more opportinities Floyd won’t be able to control the range and pace the whole fight these are the reasons the fight hasn’t happen. Art of war never take a fight your not sure to win I get it.Posted November 2, 2013 2:39 am
Floyd will also be in position to be countered when he attacks he was in that position against Guerrero and Judah. Judah had more sucsess why because of athleticism.Posted November 2, 2013 2:34 am
Yo mama your talking about an unathletic lefty with no explosion don’t compare Guerrero to a Pac, Judah or Corley who predicted that Guerrero wasn’t the type of southpaw who could give Floyd problems because he was to slow and flatfooted. Guerrero was getting close but he simply was a split second late. Floyd was able to roll under Guerreros left but Pacs so explosive and sudden with the left Floyd will get nailed hard and Pacs shorter than Guerrero so rolling under is not gonna work well for him. Floyd used lateral movement against Guerrero because even against a slow southpaw like that who isn’t short and tight with his punches if he stood in front of Guerrero he’d get hit. Normally your right you can’t just come in on Floyd without a jab but Pacs real crafty at setting up his left with sharp feints again that athleticism plays a huge part Floyd almost always has the athletic advantage but not against Pac. Then once you get Floyd worried about the left rights open up it helped Corley, Judah, Oscar and Cotto get solid rights in too. That’s what I’ve noticed watching Floyd against lefties Floyds a sharpshooter he’s gonna get his but Pacs gonna get good leather on Floyd can Floyd handle that and still win that’s the question. Hatton had some sucsess with the lefthook but I don’t remember much sucsess outside of that again you need to be attacking Floyd on that side of his defense its been proven over and over.Posted November 2, 2013 2:23 am
Rem, “athletic lefties like Pac have had the most sucsess landing powershots on Floyd ”
Ricky hatten know how to hit Floyd it’s a mix in over the top clubbing down right hook or left hook, as Floyd in exchanging will duck down, you will hit him lower.
SRed Pac does everything politically correct read between the lines he implemented testing for his next fight. Doesn’t matter Pac can beat Rios with Kahns chin who’s next that’s what I wanna know. Hope he doesn’t perform to good and scare Floyd again.Posted November 2, 2013 12:17 am
One thing is Pacs favor is he took the “hiding” Marquez laid on him in stride
We will all see if you can……………Posted November 1, 2013 5:37 pm
Rios is going to keep coming and keep throwing. Until there’s a KO either wayPosted November 1, 2013 5:29 pm

Manny weight is at 132lb, he says the year vacation has made him stronger, we see, so roach took manny back to his boxings days, they might be right, as a fight with Floyd manny boxing has to hold up, as you can’t be in the fight for a ko if you can’t jab or touch Floyd , the harder punch will come in time, but does manny have power and snap too his punches at 132-145? This fight with rio would decide it, so watch for a fast sharp
Pacman wins easy. Abril schooled Rios….just another mismatch by Top Stink.Posted November 1, 2013 2:54 pm

My honest, unbiased opinion of this fight is,if Pacqeuio is in good shape, and he has not “lost it” then Rios will be knocked out, but, if Pacqueio is hesitant, or like many fighters father time catches up with him just a little on this night, he and not Rios will be knocked out. I believe Rios is not in Pacmans class, but, Paqueio has had a lot of tough fights over the years, and as I said before, it might catch up with him, and dull both his desire and resistance, I hope not, but we will see.Posted November 1, 2013 10:45 am
Steve dead on Marquez has unleashed hell on the boxing world. I’d honestly be shocked if Rios is the same after Pac is through with him. I read Pac weights 142 right now. The kid who was fighting for a chicken leg back home is back lol.Posted November 1, 2013 9:59 am

Cotto is a hofer and Bradley was the lineal jrww champ. Pac has the best roster of opponents of any active fighter. Pacs fundamentals can be questioned but his skills and gifts can’t be denied speed, power, chin and agility all rank off the charts. He’s one of the very best and most dynamic offensive fighters ever and there’s never been a brawler that brings his speed and movement to the ring that’s what makes him so unique he’s a bonafide atg.Posted October 31, 2013 9:43 pm

Well, Pacquiao is back. You know why he’s back? Because he fights Brandon Rios, and he sells the place out, When you’re not back is when you’re finished, and nobody wants to see your face no more, When they don’t want to see you in an arena sitting down, that’s when you’re really finished, He’s not finished, he’s never really been finished. He’s a mega-star of boxing, and one defeat like that is not gonna finish him, Pacquiao can get knocked out two more times and not be finished, He’s not that kind of fighter. He’s the kind of fighter people will always want to see, because he gives people hope. He gives nations hope. correction: Pacquiao’s* entire ring-legacy is DEFINED by . . .Posted October 31, 2013 7:46 pm
Pacquiao’s* entire ring-legacy is tainted by cherrypicking; catchweight-compromising; avoiding his primary P4P rivals; rejecting harmless, random, and MUTUALLY-Applied testing along with a $25 to $50 million payday; all bookended by the Biggest Choke in Boxing History and being victimized by the #1 KO in Boxing History, resulting in the headline of this article: “We Know He Can’t Take a Good Punch”.Posted October 31, 2013 7:39 pm

@Mark– I will take that bet– but modify it a bit. Instead of leaving the site for a year, anyone can do that and or change their name– Lets say that the loser has come back under the main fight “pac vs rios” and admit that they know nothing about boxing, and apologize for their ignorant, irresponsible prediction.. Now that is a Man to Man bet. It has teeth, it has drama, it has bite to it– Someone will have to be a man and admit defeat. @REM– It is my opinion- in which I am willing to back up– it does not make me anything other than a man with an opinion. As you will note, you made your comment and I am prepared to back it up- not with insults but with commentary. I am not calling you a “pinoy prostitute”. How can you argue my statement that Pac is an “ok” boxer at best. He is more of a brawler/puncher and his boxing skills in the true sense of boxing skills are limited. He has no defense to speak of, and fights in a predictable pattern. He runs in and throws a 5 punch combination every time—Ba, Ba, Ba, Ba Ba.. and then he runs back out of range. This style has served him well, and he has won some fights with it. I for one question his legacy based on the limited and hand picked opposition he has been forced to face, due to his contract and affiliation with Robert Arum.
I am not really sure why no one has pointed this very glaring fact about Pac the boxer, his legacy, and how he will be seen in the future. Who has he really fought? He has not fought the best fighters in the world during his recent career– He has fought the best fighters available to him under the banner of TOP RANK Promotions. There is the whole world where boxers exist and then there is the fish bowl that contains the fighters who a manage by Bob Arum and who travel around in a traveling circus fighting each other. It could be said that he was the greatest boxer in top rank history, as he never ventured out to fight outside of his promotional company, we cannot compare him to others who have all comer. I know that this fact has to be taken into account when his legacy and credits are tallied up and when it come time to determine if he is a first round hall of fame fighter.
So from my perspective he is really just “OK” in my book, my opinion. I’ve seen better.Posted October 31, 2013 7:14 pm

Pacman got found out at the 4th time of asking by one of the best counterpunchers in the world, who had been training for power, and had Manny timed.
Rios got found out by everybody. Juan Diaz Mk II. If he thinks he is marching in on Pacman he is getting the Hatton treatment.
This fight is Pacmans gift to Roach after Rios mocked him. They are going to be catching bits of Rios skull in the crowd.
I am predicting brutal BRUTAL stoppage victory for Pacman, and Roach doing the Gangam style on Rios prostrate form.Posted October 31, 2013 6:45 pm

Rios has ZERO defense and takes all shots to his Face because of his face first Poor Head movement style, typical of Mexicans. Against Paquiao that pretty much Gurantees that Rios is getting stopped.. Like MargaCheato was.Posted October 31, 2013 3:41 pm
Murderman, stylistically this is a great matchup for Pacman. Have you ever seen either one of them box before?Posted October 31, 2013 3:38 pm
Pacman is gonna make Rios a punchbag, and he will turn Rio’s lights off when the time suits him.KO before rd 6.Posted October 31, 2013 3:34 pm
And Rios may stop Pac in stunning fashion. Pac hasn’t looked good since he fought Mosley.Posted October 31, 2013 3:21 pm
Rios was wobbled a bit by Alvarado in his last fight. If he thinks Manny Pacquiao ha a weak chin and comes after him to test it, he’ll be topped quickly. Rios will have no idea how fast and powerful Manny Pacquiao is until it’ too late. Rio is tough, but I don’t think he has any idea what he’s gotten himself into. He said earlier that he was surprised at how small Manny was. He’s gaining a false sense of security by judging Manny’s physical stature and thinking that will help him. Rios may be stopped before 9 round in stunning fashion.Posted October 31, 2013 3:08 pm
Pac should of fought more than 30 seconds a round against Bradley and maybe the judges would of awarded him the fight. But the fight was much closer than what some people on here would like you to believe. Pac didn’t land nearly as many punches as the punch stats claimed. He never hurt Bradley either.Posted October 31, 2013 3:03 pm
Brazilian Boxing Fan
I think Pacquiao will win.Posted October 31, 2013 2:52 pm
Can pac take another good punch? We will see. Rios is actually alot bigger than pac even though he is moving up in weight. Rios can punch. Not a good matchup for pac especially after the nap he just took! If rios can land a clean shot pac may go to sleep!Posted October 31, 2013 2:42 pm
Fight Aficianado, I agree , no one really knows what Napman has leftPosted October 31, 2013 2:35 pm
PAC HATER , PACMAN BEAT BRADLEY HANDS DOWN ! WHAT FIGHT WERE YOU WATCHING ????????????? AND I HAD RUSLAN WINNING THE BRADLEY FIGHT. REF MADE A BIG MISTAKE ON NOT COUNTING THE FIRST KNOCK DOWN . PAC MAN NEVER SIDE STEP ANYONE ! PACMAN IS NOT MAYWEATHER THAT DOSE NOT CARE FOR BOXING OR IT’S FANS . MONEY IS MAYWEATHER ONLY GOLD. I WILL ALWAYS FEEL WINNER SHOULD ALWAYS TAKE ALL . THEN YOU WILL SEE BETTER FIGHTS AND LESS DIVES TO GET PAID. WIN YOU GET PAID LOSE YOU GET 0Posted October 31, 2013 2:27 pm
Rios is feather fisted and moving up in weight. Manny can most certainly standup to Rios’s best shots.Posted October 31, 2013 2:24 pm
If you ever step into a ring ? any thing could happen ! I give respect for anyone that step into a ring . We all can talk who will win or lose ! but just takes one mistake to put your lights out. I feel Pacman will move and look for openings and Rios will try to cut the ring off and look for one big blow .Posted October 31, 2013 2:19 pm
Pac haters suck pinoys
Pacquiao is Ducking Bradley and Ruslan is a Filipno male prostitute that still can’t get the taste out his mouth the last time he blew a Pinoy. Get over it lips.Posted October 31, 2013 2:12 pm
THE REAL AMERICAN OAK
Rios is dead man walkingPosted October 31, 2013 2:11 pm
What bob arum did was throw a name in the mix with pacman just like golden boy did with Canelo they knew he wasn’t ready for Floyd just like they know bam bam has no chance against PAC , they promote it like their the ones that can beat them we buy it and who wins? The promoters!, this is hatton pacman all over againPosted October 31, 2013 2:08 pm
Horrendously easy nights work for Pac.Posted October 31, 2013 1:55 pm
Rios is brave and game but this is a miss match,Rios is been fed to manny to make manny look good won’t go past 5Posted October 31, 2013 1:21 pm
Pacquiao is Ducking Bradley and Ruslan
The end of having to listen to irrational, delusional, ridiculous comments about a good exciting little boxer, who for a time flirted with greatness, but was then put to sleep by JMM never to be heard from again. I will miss Pac the boxer, but I will celebrate the death of his fanbase. Good by Delusional Pac fans.. Good by forever- never to be heard from again.. Oh happy, happy day..Posted October 31, 2013 1:04 pm
I don’t know about the lead of this story. When Rios was announced as Pac’s comeback opponent my first thought was it’s never good to schedule a puncher for your first bout after a KO loss.Posted October 31, 2013 1:02 pm
