He sure talks a good game.

done deal

Thurman is not nearly as good as he thinks he is. Can’t say he is over hyped because isn’t being made out to be a big. It’s obvious having a record like his and not even being considered as a top welter weight that most don’t believe in his ability. I’m one of them.

Thurman is NOT your typical brawler. He’s actually a whole lot more varied than soto karass and berto who ARE typical brawler types. Thurman can box but he can brawl also when he needs to as we saw against Chaves. You will never….ever….see Thurman fight like Rios or Alvarez who just head hunt all night and act like they’re in a phone both. Any fighter who thinks that is Thurmans style will be sadly and rudely mistaken, which is why Broner, especially Bradley, Alexander are not going to race to fight him. I think Thurman will be avoided as much as Winky Wright was.

Berto n Aydin both were dominated by Soto Karass and there is not much difference between them n Thurman. Berto has actually faced a lot better comp than Thurman, that is the reason Berto has been exposed already and Thurman hasn’t but will. Soto Karass does very well against guys looking for one big punch, and that is the problem that Thurman will have. He has the potential to end the fight with one punch any time, but more than likely will get outworked if he doesn’t set his punches up a bit more.

Thurman will ko Soto Karas.

C,mon Karrass was KO,d by Maidana.Thurman should easily do the same.

Soto is absolute garbage. One handed berto was landing at will with one arm. I’ll give him credit for being a warrior without a doubt, but he is way too sloppy and his defense is non existent. Just out of his league in this fight

I doubt thurman gets bast Soto Karass, the work rate will be too much for him

Keith is a promising fighter who continues to improve with every fight. He may be a little overconfident at time’s but nit nearly to the extent of Bronner. Hope to see this fight somewhere down the line

Idiot fake TARK said, “I don’t rate Thurman at all.” … He’s good.

Thurman showed that he has some boxing skills. Now IDE like to see what happens if some could match that and see how he reacts. But his last fight showed a lot about him. He can’t contend with Floyd right now but maybe in a year or so he can

Fight Aficionado

I like Thurman as I do all KO artists. They bring excitement and unpredictability the game needs. But until he starts beating down skilled boxers I’m presuming he’s just a puncher. He’s not shown the finer boxing skills of a GGG or Kovalev, guys who are known for their crunching power but have great balance, footwork and the ability to punch from angles. We’ll see with Thurman. I hope his trainers don’t just bank on his power.

Kong,

Thurman and Broner may be a lot more abrasive in character than a gent like Andre Ward, but they’re also much more entertaining to see in the ring.

Andre is a great ambassador of the sport, but doesn’t fight in the most crowd pleasing manner.

Don’t lose sight of the fact that the action in the ring is what ultimately drives the sport…not the fighters’ behavior outside of it!!

And btw I just meet Roy johns today in Manhattan ny he was alone walking with gym close and I stopped him at chatted for a few minutes he was very friendly but to be honest he really really looked old up close and he looks like he lost a lot of weight I don’t know if it was because if his gym closes that made him appear that way of what but I really hope dosent fight anymore …

I am not more than a pervo.

Adrian, I respect & appreciate your honesty & the fact that you accepted my challenge without using insults & other dirty tactics…let’s see how Thurman’s career pans out & will talk about it again. Take care, buddy.

I did, Joe. the Pretenders too. Chrissie is a great songwriter and singer. Classic music!

And some “objective ” fans in here are saying Thurman is not all that but then they say he should be able to stop Sotto caras in 6 rounds..??? So caras is just another bum right ?
Unbelievable

Posted November 2, 2013 2:10 am

Adrian

And btw broner is not even close of being special that’s my opinion and if he fights Thurman you will see the difference there …I hope they do fight

Largo , not only that I said Thurman is good before but i also said he is the one with the skills speed and power to challanger mayweather at 147 right now I am not saying he deserve the fight with mayweather right now but he is the one that I am sure will beat mayweather ….I am not sold on his resume or the hype but I really like what I see in this kid and that is ring smart speed good punch and can take one and cuts of the ring really really well when is needed.si no worries I will be here in a year or two from now and if it turns out that he is just another boxer like the likes of Guerrero or berto I will admit I was wrong I promise …but will see…

Posted November 2, 2013 2:00 am

i say a year or two for safety but i don’t think it will take that long…not at all.

Posted November 2, 2013 2:00 am

This I know, neither Thurman nor Broner are special ; I challenge anybody to keep these comments & show me wrong in a year or two…

To be Elite in boxing is similar to be a genius in Science; that’s not a regular occurrence but a very rare & special one. If you can’t see & appreciate when a boxer is truly special, well, nobody can help you there…you just don’t have it, as simple as that.

Posted November 2, 2013 12:43 am

“He is the real deal a he is special, I have been saying this for a while now that this guy has it all and time will tell!”…Adrian, time will tell indeed!! But who will keep track of your enthusiastic post today & what I’m going to tell you now? …OK, this is my assessment: Keith is a good operator but he isn’t elite & he’ll never be. Why am I so bold about it? Simple, I grew up watching Ali, Leonard, Haggler, Duran, Hearns, Pryor, Salvador Sanchez, Arguello … I have a good grasp on the concept of ELITE & WHERE & TO WHOM it applies…Keith isn’t elite & neither is Broner; Neither one will have long successful careers. You know who is 100% genuine ELITE? Floyd. Now, promise me that instead of insulting me, you’ll keep this post to show me wrong in a year or two…if you & others in this site do that, you got my respect.

If Zab doesn’t knock Paulie down Paulie wins a decision. Problem is this is like Spinks vs Judah. Once Judah figured out he couldn’t be hurt he took it to Spinks. Problem is it took him 10 to 11 rounds to find that out

Posted November 2, 2013 12:19 am

Thurman is good. He is being brought along correctly which you can’t really say for a lot if prospects turned contender. Thurman gonna do Soto dirty. Probably stop holin bout the 7th

Thurman had a good personality at first, but now he’s running his mouth like he’s something special. Pleeeeease, Thurman is developing into a well rounded fighter, but he’s not all that. He needs to keep his mouth shut and stop thinking he’s anything special. Soto Karass is tough, but Big Mouth Thurman should be able to stop him before 6 rounds. Thurman needs to stop following and acting like Mayweather and Broner. These guys give make themselves look like fools once their mouths open. Stick to boxing. Thurman has talent.

Thurman has some thump and he’s got heart. That’s a punched ticket that can take you anywhere. He’s in control of how good he gets or where he levels out. I like him.

Dude…I love me some “Brass in pocket” by the Pretenders!!

My favorite was always “Message of Love” or “Middle of the Road”…very underrated songwriter!!

Did you know that she was married to Ray Davies of the Kinks for several years?

Man, I miss playing music professionally!! Damn!!

KO KIDD

He should batter JSK and win in dominant fashion but this guy doesnt make it easy. Hes pulled many upsets and made guys go to war to beat him. There would be no shame to lose to a guy like JSK but I imagine that he should win convincingly but struggle at times

Big Al

I remember they showed a clip of his fighter interview before one of his fights and he was talking about how good he was when Jim Lampley interrupted and asked: “What was your favorite subject in school?” and this totally threw him into a spin and his eyes crossed and he couldn’t even speak until one of his cronies jumped in and said: “RECESS!!!”

That interview clip right there is all you need to know about Thurman. Lets see how he does against Alexander, Khan, Maidana, Broner, Guerrero, Garcia, Matthysse, Ortiz, etc., etc. before he gets ahead of himself. He’s just a little pup chasing the pack as far as I’m concerned. Nothing to make noise about.
