Clev as no choice but to move up in weght i seen him the other day when he walking around at about 210pounds and thought to myself how the hell could he take over 28 pounds off him without walking round like a skeleton ?? He will be a good addition to the 200 pound division and i wish him all the best and hope he will eventually fight Kovalev again who knows !!

British, Commonwealth, European and WBO champ at light heavy. Murat was a worthy challenger for Hopkins. Bellew is worthy challenger for Stevenson. Nathan’s beaten both of them already… Clev may not ever become a Ring/linear champ but he’s still a damn good fighter.

Fair play to Cleverly. At least he had the balls to fight the best fighter in the world at 175. Hopkins doesn’t fancy it that’s for sure. And Stevenson is getting battered too wen he finally gets in the ring with Kovalev. I think Kov cud rule at Cruiser too. I’m sure Clev is capable of winning a belt at Cruiser – good luck to him!

It’s clear that Cleverly realises that there are too many talented fighters in the LH division for him to get become a genuine champ. He was never a genuine champion in the LH division anyway. I was annoyed by his interview where he kept saying he’d been the best and ‘lived the dream’. He’d never beaten a top fighter and lost to the first decent one he fought. For God’s sake he nearly lost to Bellew. He’s now looking to fight in a weaker division, beat some more bums and ‘live the dream’ again. Let’s face it, he’s overrated.

Hopkins ran for the safety of LHW when Calzaghe was around and now he attempts to run again with this rediculous mayweather match up. Hopkins is a paper champ unless he fights the real contenders in Kovalev & Stevenson.

Boxtradamus

Also Cleverly wasn’t brutally KO’d. He still got to his feet. He was TKO’d due to attrition. IT was a Welsman WILTING stoppage just as I predicted.

Boxtradamus

It tells you that he’d rather face ANYONE rather than face Kovalev again….and all roads at LHW are going to lead to Kovalev or cowardice from ducking him…..unless you’re Hopkins of course WHO already made Kovalev duck.

johnny

He gets brutally KOd at light heavy then decides to move up in weight to a much harder punching division. What is the logic here? Also there is less money to be made at Cruiserweight.

old guy

“shock loss to Sergey Kovalev”….? WTF?

Clevery looked and sounded extremely depressed. Shake it off man.

john

cleverly said after kovalev hit him,he was seeing sheep.

TARK

Can you imagine Cleverly trying to fight Thab Mchunu??? Whoooa! He would be in for the boxing lesson of his life.

In fact, I think Eddie Chambers should target Cleverly at 200… I think that’s a fight Eddie could win.

Posted November 6, 2013 4:43 pm

WHAT!?!

Big mistake by former paper champ Cleverly. He is looking for the easy way to win a title again. He should be good enough to beat Ammann but just like Danny Green found out, when he reaches the Top 5, Cleverly will be too small and chinny.

Yes he personally told me he did it to get a fat face

Posted November 6, 2013 1:09 pm

2nd2nunn

His face looks fat. Is that why he moved up a division? So he could get a fat face?

Posted November 6, 2013 12:40 pm

Myles

This is interesting. Kovalev chased him out of his division.

Posted November 6, 2013 12:39 pm

Best of luck to Nathan.

the welshman could get another paper belt.

mr gav

I think this may be a good move the British cruiser weight scene is very weak so clev can be number one if he wins. Hopefully extra weight will give clev some power. He fell apart against kovalev fought the wrong fight and froze on the night and kovalev is a freak of nature puncher so no one should hold this against him too much.

DMX

Cruiserweight is currently one of the weakest Divisions in Boxing
