Degale looked awful imo. He just doesn’t look as though he is improving. I thought the Groves fight was close but gave it to Groves by a round. After the fight eveb though he lost I still expected Degale to go onto better things as I felt Degale could improve more . Yet after watching this performance and Groves recent performances I would expect Groves to embarrass Degale if they fought again.

Why is Degale still with “coach” Jim McDonnell? it’s the reason Degale has not moved onto the next level. He needs a top trainer. His career is slipping away. He was fighting in a shopping centre for heaven’s sake!

Jim McDonnall has a bigger gob than DeGale
Was a pleasure seeing this one eyed cyclops pasted to the canvas by Azamah Nelson

DeGale is mediocre and will lose to the next quality fighter they put him in with. He can, and will be, outboxed easy by anyone. Ward would put on a clinic with him, while Froch would spark him out faster than he’s going to do Groves next week.

Enjoyed watching Chris Eubank jnr. Middle weight scene is very strong domestically in Britain right now so won’t be long before he gets so other young unbeaten prospects to fight

Well said Die siener took words out my mouth.

Die Siener

Signing for channel 5 is hardly to road to world domination. Having Jim McDonnel as your trainer is also not the way forward. DeGale’s career has stalled since his fight with Groves. He still fights like an amateur and punches with the inside of his glove otherwise known as slapping. I fear the worst for him when he faces someone half decent. Gross misnanagemnet that a gold medalist is,after 5 years, fighting 3rd tier opponents like Davies.

Mick Hennessey should be promoting funeral parlours not boxing matches

Joey;At least you will keep hold of your silver belts longer than DeGale.

DeGale did a good solid job last night,he needs more fights to sharpen up,one narrow loss to groves witch could have gone either way and an Olympic gold medal speaks for its self, he’s not a bum,its his promoter that’s the problem.DeGale lack of action brings no fan base, along with no title means he dosent bring enough reward for the risk,he should join eddie at match room,he can’t prove his self or expect a shot fighting twice a year.

silver super middleweight paper belt. i got one thrown in for nothing yesterday when i bought two pair of levis.

Well , De Gale’s stamina is improving. He only slacked off for a couple of rounds in this fight, normally it’s 5 or 6. When he’s capable of fighting hard for the full 12 rounds he’ll be a tricky match up for anyone. Groves only beat him by one point, and Georges’s opposition has hardly been any better.

I was there last night and Degale doesn’t get any better, I thought he was very boring, and I think that’s the last time I will see him live.Hennessy has a crap stable.Froch and Groves would KO DeGale no problem.

Ive seen davis fight a few times and im not American

Fight Aficionado

When Americans don’t know who Dyah Davis is you know DeGale is scraping the barrel. He’s not faced one viable opponent since losing.

No one cares if DeGale fights dirty !

An open letter to James DeGale:

Mick’s havin your fackin pants down son and your trainer Jim, the snide Freddy Roach is ruining you.

We all know Fish-Eye is a wrongun, but he pays the bills and churns out champs ;-)

Distanced by an even bigger bum than himself

You couldn’t make it up

Even Hughie and his son Tyson couldn’t be bothered to sell the fight.

His attitude stinks of Bovril

WHAT!?!

DeGale was not impressive at all. Looks like the another hyped up failure like Cleverly. DeGale looks like a front runner who is flashy and arrogant when its easy but can’t dig deep when the going gets tough. Froch would damage him physically and mentally, forever.

Butlins next, onwards.

I’m not really very impressed with Degale. I think he uses up too much energy, he needs to relax. I think that is why he struggles mid fight. Its a lack of confidence in going the distance.

Don’t understand why he shutdown for a few rounds half way through the fight OR when he decides to rest against the ropes OR when he waffles on about having more gears..trust me.. init..nice! nice! OR when he constantly complains about his knee, which is 95% recovered, apparently..

Just shut up and fight.. probably one of the most frustrating fighters to watch. Could have quite easily got a stoppage, infact I reckon Eubank Jr would have done a better job. I can see why Hennesy isn’t in a rush..

Can’t wait for DeGale v Froch next week.

Oops that’s Groves isn’t it?
