FA – He did? Well then, that’s AWFUL and he should forever have a asterisk by his name until he takes the test.Posted November 20, 2013 3:27 pm
Titopa, what do you think about Ward ducking the VADA and USADA tests that were offered for free for the Rodriguez fight?Posted November 20, 2013 2:57 pm
Will somebody go down to Taco Bell and get Tumbo?Posted November 20, 2013 2:04 pm
Hec Dog – Same goes for Manny, you want to accuse Marquez, just cause he “may have been on something” doesn’t mean he was…if you think that, then you HAVE TO think the same about Manny, he too tested clean but he may have been on something too. The fact that you wanna act like he’s innocent but Marquez is guilty just shows how bias you are. Remember, Manny’s been accused for YEARS and he NEVER did anything to erase that, in fact, he DUCKED the best tests and opted to sue instead of just saying “I’m clean and I’ll prove it”, that’s what Marquez did. Stop being such a coward and just face it, your boy got SLEPT!!!Posted November 20, 2013 1:14 pm
Hecdog you sound like an idiot. How many times did Floyd runner ask Manny to take a Random blood test to make the fight happen between them? Only one reason why a human being would not agree to a random drug test and especially when there are $40,000,000.00 in his favor, he is hiding something as simple as that. It could be that Marquez was on something the night he K.O’d Manny and it can be Manny has always been on something illegal. Nothing is proven , but the fact that Manny has avoided random testing is very suspect in every ones eyes who has half a brain.Posted November 20, 2013 12:18 pm
Public Enemy- There is no fricken way you actually said something good about a Mexican fighter, this wasn’t you , right? If it was I think that was the sign the world is about to end. LMAO
And all you retards calling a PROFESSIONAL ELITE boxer throwing a “lucky” punch need to stand in front of a Mack truck and end you meaningless life. Marquez after 3 fights had Mannys number, he figured out his style, if anything you all should be mad at Manny for being too overconfident. Marquez is king with that thunderous KO and you can call it however you want or slice it however you want but that KO will live for all eternity for all your grandkids to see.Posted November 20, 2013 12:06 pm
TWO PIECE my friend, Manny has had brutal power from the start of his career. Some fighters have natural born power. Manny, Duran, Hearns, Tyson just to name a few. Ped Man Marquez received his crushing power once from Mr. Hereida. Manny has never failed a test and has not specifically requested the hiring of the Ped Supplier to the USA Olympic athletes and then lied about knowing who he was like Ped Man Marquez did. He knew exactly what he was doing, Manny doesn’t go around picking excuses out of the sky like Marquez does. Everyone is tired of seeing that poor sport saying he was robbed 6 times. Please! Either way, Manny is the better boxer 100% without any doubt and I think the majority of fans would agree. Now, let’s cheer on Manny as he makes his triumphant return to the ring. Manny is the best,Posted November 20, 2013 12:05 pm
Rios IS much bigger. Just because he was starving himself mto make 140, doesnt mean hes smaller.
Ha ha ha Pacnap? Thats a good 1. I’ll use that at some stage ha haPosted November 20, 2013 6:18 am
hecdog ” just because Marquez tested clean doesn’t mean he was. ” that applies to Pac too dumb ass, whojust so happen to be the ONLY serial OSDT dodger which confirms how he went from getting KTFO by FLYWEIGHTS ( twice) to walking thru WWs. Viva Dinamita for levelling the playing fields if he isn’t clean cause neither was Pacnap. You live by the gun, you die by the gun.Posted November 20, 2013 3:11 am
Compare that fight with the Mayweather-Marquez fight. In some of the rounds, Marquez managed to tag Floyd with flush right hands. So what did Floyd do? He started pivoting to his right and started firing his lead right as counter while doing so. When Marquez tagged Floyd with some left hooks, Floyd adjusted again and moved to his left firing his patented left hook in response. No diss to Pacquiao though, he was winning that fight with Marquez. He just got careless.Posted November 20, 2013 2:09 am
As for the Pacquiao-Marquez fight, I’ve said this and I’m saying it again. But before I do, note that this is an unbiased analysis, get that straight.
Now having said that, in the fight, Pacquiao came in too confident. I mean waaaay too confident. The first KD should have been a sign to curb the recklessness and adjust because Marquez’s right hand was reaching him and hitting him flush, but nope, he didn’t do that.
Secondly, what he hoped to accomplish in the closing 10 SECONDS of the 6TH ROUND is truly beyond me. He was busting Marquez up pretty badly, he was ahead on all score cards, it was NOT the last round. Pacquiao’s chin is not the question here, he’s been with flush shots from huge punchers before. His early loses were mainly body shots due to his problems making weight.
He pawed a lazy jab and WALKED RIGHT into that right hand, multiplying the power of the shot exponentially. He was way too confident, reckless and he was not focused.
And thirdly, you DO NOT, CAN NOT commit such a simple mistake as that to a superb and brilliant counter puncher technician like Juan Manuel Marquez.Posted November 20, 2013 2:00 am
I am always amused by the posters whose comments have no relevance to boxing nor to the article and spew out vile and virulent personal attacks on a fighter and his country. Flom0 this, Floydiot that, Pactard this, Pacroid that. Seriously dudes, get a life!
You all should be happy that boxing is an international and not just a niche sport. Well, if it were up to guys like you, it’s sadly where will end up. Any boxer, any fighter who brings the sports we all love into the limelight and the world stage is welcome in my books. This is my take on that clichè – love the game all you want, but much less so the players. Because then it becomes personal. And you just end up as pathetic dimwitted losers when the fighters themselves congratulate and hug each other after a fight.
Serioulsy dudes, it’s just a sports, just entertainment, why do you have to make it so personal?Posted November 20, 2013 1:35 am
Titopa my friend, just because Marquez tested clean doesn’t mean he was. Remember what Mr. Ped Supplier (Angel Hereida) to the USA Olympic athletes said. He said he could mask anything. Now, I think we all can see how easy it was for Hereida to mask the peds since the NSAC tells camps and the fighters what they test for. Hmmm….Seems fairly easy for a Master Ped Supplier get away with it. Did you see how much power Marquez had on the first knock down of Manny. Wow! He never came close to doing that in all three previous fights, and now all of a sudden he comes out with this type of pulverizing unnatural power. All we need to do is put two and two together and we have the answer. Did Manny Pacquiao lose the 4th fight? yes, did he lose it fair? No, Ped use by by Marquez. Now, who will go down as the better fighter? Manny Pacquiao, the ONLY 8 division boxing champion in history will go down as not only the better fighter, but arguably the greatest of all time. And since Marquez has no drawing power, and is basically on the way to retirement, I wonder if that feeling that he wants to hold onto so much will allow him to make a 5th fight with the legendary Manny Pacquiao. We all know the answer. Regardless, Manny Pacquiao is the news today, and after Saturday night, the world will be his. Go Manny!Posted November 20, 2013 1:30 am
Hec Dog – Its okay man!! Accept it, it’s boxing, it happens…Pacquiao is okay with it, so should you!! Stop trying so hard to erase or change the past…nothing you say will make it go away, nothing you say will erase that KO loss Manny suffered, NOTHING! You surely have convinced yourself it never happene..and if that makes it easier for you to sleep at night, then fine, buy you’ll never convince the history books…that’s written in stone pal.Posted November 20, 2013 12:59 am
Lol nah!! Marquez still goes down as the man who SLEPT Pacquiao!! None of that “PED” crap is gonna come up, none of it, and do you know why? Cause Marquez tested clean and won FAIR AND SQUARE!! Not even Manny is coward enough to blame anything or anyone other than himself for the KO loss. He took it like a man, unlike you cowards who want to invent excuses for him, remember what he said, “sometimes you lose, it’s a part of boxing and we have go accept that”….but no! Hec dog is so butthurt that he feels like he has to rescue Manny’s reputation. Stop being a coward!! Accept it. As for Marquez, he’s going down in HISTORY as one id the greatest Mexican fighters to ever lace up a pair of gloves…you can bank on that!!Posted November 20, 2013 12:52 am
Manny Pacquiao will be remembered as the far superior fighter than Marquez. His win/loss record vs Marquez proves it. The truth is that the 1st fight was a highway robbery. Manny won that hands down. I have reviewed that fight 4-5 times without bias, and my conclusion was that Manny clearly won that fight. As far as history is concerned, Marquez will always first be remembered as the one boxer that knowingly chose to hire the Ped Supplier to the USA Track team. We saw what his physique was like and so did the world. Secondly, he will be remembered as the one fighter that blames everyone for his losses except himself. Manny is class all the way around, and that’s why he is so adored by the world. Manny Pacquiao will without any doubt be in the GOAT conversation as his 8 division titles speak for themselves. Marquez will always have a question mark. Sure Marquez was a good fighter in his early days, but he won’t be remembered as a great fighter by any means. Bradley beat him fairly easy, and hi reluctance and refusal to fight Manny a 5th time while losing out on an all time high pay day says it all. Manny will beat Rios, chase down Mayweather and beat him, and then win a 9th title. trust me on this. Manny Pacquiao is special.Posted November 20, 2013 12:34 am
And another thing Hecdog. Pacquioa GAVE? Marquez opportunities to fight him? THE FANS wanted for there to be a definate winner between the 2 warriors. Get that in your head first and second Pacquioa would only consider fighting Marquez AFTER he had no other viable opponent. He wanted no part of Marquez to begin with and you saw why….Marquez style was a threat to Mannys so call “invincibility” era. And it was…..Posted November 20, 2013 12:21 am
Hecdog is ESB’s Jim Jones, don’t drink the cool aid…Posted November 20, 2013 12:20 am
Hecdog who? Pacquioa who? Keep telling yourself that. Anybody that thinks Rios was or is a threat to a counterpuncher professional like Marquez needs to be put on meds.Posted November 20, 2013 12:14 am
Hec Dog – Keep telling yourself that. Whenever Manny Pacquiao is brought up, they will remember him for his greatness…that goes without saying, but they WILL also bring up the fact that after 4 fights with Marquez, the ONLY man to come away with a CLEAR CUT victory is in those 4 bouts is none other than Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Marquez…it’s in the HISTORY books, your grand kids will be able to look it up years from now, only to see your idol face down on the canvas dreaming that he finally won the fight…convincingly!! Marquez will do down as the ONE man who shattered Pacquiao’s reign and put an end to his “incincibilty”. Nothing you our anyone else can say that will change that, not eve this “PED” talk, the only people who bring that up are his delusional fans who can’t accept the fact that their hero was PUT TO SLEEP!! No ones gonna mention that 20 years from now, or 45 years from now. It’s just this: Juan Manuel Marquez Knocks Manny Pacquiao out cold in one of the most brutal KO’s of a P4P elite ever!! :) indeed, indeed!!Posted November 20, 2013 12:03 am
Ped man Marquez is history already. Bradley beat him to a pulp. Did yu notice Ped Man Marquez didn’t quite have the muscular definition he had vs Manny? A lucky punch was exactly what that was. Ped Man Marquez put his foot out on purpose as he always does, Manny stepped on it and was off balance and Ped man Marquez closed his eyes and hit the jack pot. Yes he was a great fighter before he hired Ped Supplier to the USA Olympic Team, but since that time, he grew muscles after Manny Pacquiao beat him three times. Ped Man Marquez went from drinking his own urine to purposely hiring this Ped supplier then tried lying about knowing who he was. He then gives some lame excuse about how he wants to keep this good feeling and won’t fight Manny a 5th time after Manny gave him 4 shots. What a joke! Manny then takes on the guy he was afraid to fight in Brandon Rios while Ped Man Marquez gets what he Deserves, a beating by none other than Timothy Bradley. Ped Man Marquez then continues with his whining, crying, poor sport ways and complains about how he was robbed……This guy is a true poor sport. Now Manny Pacquiao, the only 8 division boxing champion in history has center stage to the world. Marquez needs to go retire now since he’sold news. The excitement of this fight is generating throughout the world. Clips of Manny shadow boxing and hitting the mitts have people losing control with excitement. Manny Pacquiao is legitimately the peoples champion. Title or no title, fans crown him their hero. Manny Pacquiao is a humble, respectful, loving, caring, giving man. He’s the most adored and beloved athlete in the history of sports. He’s a true philanthropist, actor, singer, clothing designer, congressman and the world’s top boxer. He laced the cover of TIME Magazine. He sells and draws more fans world wide than any athlete today including Floyd Mayweather. This is a true warrior that is respected more by his peers than any boxer today. Do not deny Manny Pacquiao’s incredible popularity. Everyone from every walk of life comes to see Manny Pacquiao, and this fight will be no different. Manny will make the most electrifying ring walk ever. He will walk into his ring and shadow box as the crowd erupts in excitement. The smile, and that inner destructive look will be looking at the terrified eyes of Brandon Rios. Manny is caring the country of the Philippines, his fans, family and all those that need hope on his shoulders. This is the most anticipated fight in the history of boxing. Athletes, dignitaries, movie stars will be flying to Macau China to get a glimpse at greatness. Manny Pacquiao brings boxing and the world back to life.Posted November 19, 2013 11:45 pm
It’s PAC saying is a lucky punch, as in his mind he was winning, no beat down, so nothing about losing to fear nothing but anger and revenge and punishment to dish out.Posted November 19, 2013 11:32 pm

Goliath? haha. Really? how many Pacquioa fans are desperate to see this fight? Rios is more like a punching bag. He is soooo slow. Pacquioas power and speed will be overwhelming. Its like watching a wolverine fight a sloth. Very predictable win for Pacquioa and im sure it will get the Pactards excited. Bob Arum laughing all the way to the bank.Posted November 19, 2013 11:18 pm
Rio is being taught that PAC will doubt himself after a few good punches in. Wrong, watch the table will turn and find rio big eyed doubting himself wondering why the harder manny get hit the even harder he comes back punching.
So I guess, Rios is the evil Philistine and Manny’s the honorable Filapine?Posted November 19, 2013 9:38 pm
The best way for rios to approach this fight is to throw a lot of jabs followed by the right hand to the body and head. If rios can keep his distance while cutting off the ring he will make pacquiao force the action and that’s when rios can make manny pay. Rios in my opinion has to stay busy with his jab and power punches . Make it a dawg fight when he is inside. Pacquiao should win but it won’t be a blow out like many people think.Posted November 19, 2013 9:26 pm
Yup 140 pound giants are running around in Oxnard California.Posted November 19, 2013 9:24 pm
Hec Dog – You think he’ll put Rios to sleep the way Marquez put him to sleep?? Hahaha.Posted November 19, 2013 8:52 pm
Hec Dog – Typical Manny lover! Your comments are amazingly biased it’s ridiculous. Don’t forget, the “amazing” Manny has went NIGHT NIGHT!! Picture him face down asleep and remember…he’s not invincible, he DOES have an “off” button…don’t sleep on Rios or you may see Manny asleep…again.Posted November 19, 2013 8:51 pm
Comparing Rios to Goliath is actually an insult. Goliath is all size, no substance. Rios is able to take the pain and bring the pain.Posted November 19, 2013 8:43 pm
Manny Pacquiao’s physical frame is much smaller than any of his opponents. This is a man that stands 5′ 6″ and has the frame of a natural 130 pounder. This analogy of David and Goliath makes perfect sense. Brandon Rios while not training comes in weighing 180 pounds. He’s naturally the much bigger man. Manny is simply amazing as he has been doing this throughout his career. Manny’s skills, power, athleticism and his sheer determination to win is incredible. Manny Pacquiao has stormed through 8 weight divisions with success, something no boxer in history has ever done. Manny will slay Goliath before 9 rounds. I watched Manny working on the mitts with freddie today, and I can guarantee everyone that he is going to destroy Brandon Rios. Robert Garcia needs to have a white blanket in his corner to throw in so that the Referee is crystal clear that he wants the fight stopped. Manny Pacquiao is back!Posted November 19, 2013 8:22 pm
We’ll marquez slade David I’m surprised he’s no still sleepingPosted November 19, 2013 7:16 pm
In that case…Mike Alvarado already slayed the giant…and he just lost. LOLPosted November 19, 2013 7:03 pm
Fight Aficionado – LOL I have NO clue my man…Goliath? wow.Posted November 19, 2013 7:02 pm
*compliment his stylePosted November 19, 2013 7:01 pm
Give ME A BREAK!! LOL C’mon Pacquiao…”Goliath”?? Really?? He (and his team) are trying WAY TOO hard to make Rios seem like the boogie man who’s been storming through guys at 147, Rios is good and does have a chance…but they want to sell this as “David vs Goliath” and I ain’t buying it. This is a simple case of a Pacquiao “picking” an opponent who will compliment, a simple rebound fight after being put to sleep. C’mon!! I don’t even think the most hardcore Pac fans will buy that crap…if they do, I’ve lost even more faith in them.Posted November 19, 2013 7:01 pm
How the hell is Rios bigger than Manny when this is Rios first fight at Welter weight ? The first guy who noticed that Manny’s wife has taken his balls away is funny and there is something to what he said. I want Rios to win but I am scared of the location of this fight. I don’t think Rios can win in less he can knock Manny out. I know Rios has the ability to knock him out I just don’t know if he will.Posted November 19, 2013 6:29 pm
Rios is certainly not Goliath, but he’ll definitely be the bigger man on fight night. And outweigh Manny by 10-15 pounds?Posted November 19, 2013 6:14 pm
Love the account of the PAC v Bradley fight on Boxrec. 119 of 121 experts scored the fight for Pacquiao … 1 scored it a draw …1 scored it for Bradley. …. And Bradley’s quote to Arum before the verdict was announced, “I tried hard but I couldn’t beat the guy”.Posted November 19, 2013 5:59 pm
Not sure why they are considering Rios as Goliath. That is way offPosted November 19, 2013 5:59 pm
Goliath? With regard to his invincibility, the guy is coming off a loss to Mike Alvarado who isn’t exactly Goliath himself. Regarding his size, it’s irrelevant as once you decide to fight at a given weight, you willingly subject yourself to fighting against those who can also make that weight. So Rios is “bigger” than you? So what, 24 hours before the fight he’ll make 147 as per the rules. If you don’t like it then I’m sure JMM would be happy to offer a rematch at 140.Posted November 19, 2013 5:48 pm
Hell, even Marquez who can easily make lightweight looked at least one division bigger than Manny in their last fight!Posted November 19, 2013 5:43 pm
Rios is blatantly much bigger than Manny. Brandon is a proper welterweight who has been boiling down to 135-140 to pick on lightweights. Manny is a feather/lightweight who eats about billion calories a day to bulk up to welterweight and take on the best possible boxers across 3 or 4 weight divisions. Hope Pacman rolls back the years to look awesome again. I enjoy watching Mayweather fight….but I love watching Pacquiao fight.Posted November 19, 2013 5:40 pm
